They use their powers to either protect themselves as they are doing illegal activities or fighting these same superpowered thugs. Of course, in my own campaign, Paradise City has a different view on things. Here are two people that use their power for more mundane goals. Titus O. Short, is a plastic surgeon in Paradise City. He is not only a plastic surgeon, he is the plastic surgeon. People will come from all over the globe to get a tummy tuck or a breast lift. While he is good with a scalpel - he did graduate from top of his class - his remarkable talents are linked to his ability to shape flesh. He can shape flesh with a touch; he can press a finger against your face and flatten your nose, he can plunge his hand in your body in the process removing fat cells and he can pull your skin taut removing those unsightly wrinkles. His surgeries heal instantly and get results now. He can change a persons face and they can go to a party that night. He is rich. Oh, is he rich. He does not have sinister motives. He is not a chop shop doctor on the side of the street. He is the great Doctor Short, and he can make your beautiful, at a reasonable cost. Jackob Masterson works at the botanical gardens of Paradise City. The city is renown to have the largest diversity of flora in the entire world. This is Jackob Masterson's handwork. He is the gardener of the city, able to grow flowers that would take months to grow in a few seconds. He has the green touch, and the cosmic power to back it up. He is considered the modern Mendel of the world, experimenting with different flowers and creating hybrids of his own. If people are looking for a rare flower that has trouble growing else where, he is there. The government does commission him on occasion to travel to the breadbaskets of America to help with failing crops. He's happy to help. His desire to watch flowers grow and help humanity, and giving himself purpose is more than enough. Those are just two of the "normal" people in Paradise City who use their powers for everyday tasks. And this also explains why in Paradise City, the grass is green and the girls are pretty. So tell me people. CoreBrute Posted November 20, 2009 Report Share Posted November 20, 2009 Re: Profressions and how they are influenced by Superpowers Well I'm not sure if this counts, but in my game there is a werewolf names Ma'mun Sagar who owns a butcher shop, and besides supplying normal meat to humans he also offers 'The Hunting' to Werewolves who don't want to kill humans. The werewolves purchase an animal (Usually a chicken but if they have some money turkey or even a cow is an option) and are taken far away on a trip in the mountains. When they change the werewolves would only kill and feed on the animal they bought. This also prevents humans from realizing their are werewolves among them and hunting them down. Rather than gets his hands dirty, he just does what he does best, being a lawyer. His Latin has improved greatly, possibly from his new teachers. Oh, and he has been cleared of all charges of money laundering, fencing, and other illegal business practices, all of them. Malachite - An elf with a look towards long-term planning. He's not a bad guy, per se, but he does also deal in the grey market. Best known for buying a property dirt cheap and magically restoring it quickly to make a fast buck. His last scam involved re-animating skeletons and paying their families standard labor rates as a "donation". His claim was this allowed the dead to come to terms and finally rest, he got his building built, and the widows and orphans were given just compensation which the laws didn't even cover. Win-win. Owns and operates a small repair shop in Klong Tooey, Bangkok. Repairs anything brought to him from sowing machines, TV's, bicycles, PC's, outboard engines, you name it, he fixes it for free or gets paid in so call 'junk devices'. These he fixes and gives to the very poor or uses to create devices to help in his fight against the drug dealers and child buying pimps that infest the area.
