Project: Superteam! 2007, Portland

 

The second season of Project: Superteam! Took another 2 years to develop and film. This season took place in Portland, OR - causing something of a stir as the locals weren't sure they wanted such a large meta-human presence.

 

The contestants consisted of:

• Micron - who didn't fare too well in the first series but showed 2 years of experience and a desire to succeed.
  
• Amazing Man - a flying brick with super senses.
  
• Beaverman - the "Living Embodiment of the State of Oregon."
  
• Bungee Boy - a stretcher.
  
• Commando - Military specialist with modified non-leathal weapons. (well most of them)
  
• Scout - Commando's teenage sidekick (daughter)
  
• Crimson Magus - happy goth mage with a magic book sidekick.
  
• Lady Godiva - living embodiment of "Bulletproof Nudity." Has sexual appeal powers.
  
• Mr. Adonis - God's Gift to Women...and crime fighting.
  
• Scorpio - 7 professional Wrestler vigilante.
  
• Skyhigh - a young woman who can become a 30ft tall giant
  
• Vault Man - a leaping hero.
  
• The Cardinal - survivalist/flier, believes that Canada may try to invade.
  
• Badger - elevated anthropomorphic badger. Animal Rights Activist.
  
• The Librarian - minor mentalist martial artist who protects books.
  
• Rainwater - hydrokinetic from Seattle.
  
• Liberator - Patriotic themed Brick with a bit of a radical militia to him.
  
• Seahawk - winged flier who can also function well underwater.
  

 

This series fared worse with critics than it's predecessor and there was the issue of a few of the contestants trying to kill the competition. But the ratings were good, the drama was eaten up by the viewers and Godiva alone insured that there was an audience.

 

In the end, the contestants formed a two cliques and the Judges found it difficult to separate them. In the end, the Cardinal and his (smaller) clique left the show and formed their own team.

 

Micron was the overall winner, with Amazing Man, Commando, Rainwater being the judges choices and Godiva getting the audience vote. (Scout was never a contestant)

 

The team was called North Guard and lasted less than a year. Micron proved a poor leader. And the sponsors pulled out when Godiva was chosen (she was seen as a non family friendly heroine) - so she was dropped for Mr Adonis, a move that proved rather foolish as he even more ridiculously sexual.

 

Scout's age (she was obviously a minor) was also a concern. The west coast villains found the team to be poorly led and The Cardinal's team "The American Liberators" bedeviled and harassed them.

 

Out of the Ashes of the North Guard fiasco, Commando, Scout, Crimson Magus and a few of the others used their own resources and reformed the team in 2009.

Mr Adonis has worked with the team on occasion but he moved south to Los Angeles where he felt his looks and charm would get him more positive exposure.

Micron moved back to the East Coast and continues to work solo. His abilities suit him perfectly as a support member of a team but his personality seems to make his solo career a necessity.
