Chris Goodwin
I'm not sure what you'd call them exactly. "Slots" maybe, though that's already used for a lot of other things in HERO System. Essentially, you pay 1 point for a fixed and 5 points for a floating whatever. Fixed and Floating Teleport locations are one example; others could be Shapeshift forms, dimensional locations for Extradimensional Movement, sensory locations for Clairsentience, slots for Variable Power Pools. Having a fixed or floating slot effectively gives you an 8- Skill Roll associated with whatever the slot represents. In an interesting coincidence, this exactly reflects the 1-point cost for Familiarity with a Skill and the 5-point cost for Cramming, which is effectively a floating Skill slot. It's up to the GM how long it takes to change a floating slot. Comments?
bigbywolfe
How do you see that working with Shapeshift?
Chris Goodwin
With Shapeshift it would give you specific forms that you could shift to without having to make Perception or Disguise rolls.
Chris Goodwin
More specifically, Shapeshift has all kinds of caveats about how you can imitate a specific person or class of persons. Having a memorized form would allow you to bypass all of those.

Chris Goodwin
Not yet. The basic idea dates back to the pre-6e discussions, but I've expanded on it a bit since then, to what I wrote above.

Comments? I don't think it's actually a coincidence. But I could be wrong. Lucius Alexander Sometimes I turn the palindromedary around but no one seems to notice
