JmOz
So I had an idea for an ability. Charcter can control great magical power, never fails to manipulate it the way he wants to (So always gets the power off) but if he is not careful enough he suffers a side effect (The characters power attracks a demon that attacks the area). I figure this is a Skill roll witjh a side effect for failing...The problem is that if he fails the roll the power still goes off. Any ideas on how to build it? Hyper-Man
Isn't that essentially how the old 'Jammed' option for Actvation Roll worked plus a Side Effect? I would just lower the value of the Limitation by -1/4 or -1/2 depending on how big of a Side Effect actually occurs. There was another recent thread with a very similar if not exactly the same situation discussed. (RSR that didn't effect whether the ability goes off; just the side effect). bigbywolfe
I would give the character a -0 Activation Roll (since the power always works) and then a regular Side Effect (maybe adjust the SE value if the Activation Roll is unusually easy or something).
