mallet
Building a character who is made out of solid metal (but this Complication & other effects could apply to other non-organic beings) and ran into a question that I'm looking for some input on. The character is not organic (solid metal) so I want them to have the disadvantage of not being able to be healed by normal means (Paramedics, Hospital stays, medicine, etc...) and also probably by most form of the Healing power (partially FX based depending on how the Healing is defined, but I would assume in most cases it wouldn't work). I would assume this would just be a Physical Complication like: Physical Complication: Solid Metal Body - Regular and most forms of Healing do not work on them (Very Frequently; Fully Impairing) 30pts. Or some variation of that. But I'm also looking for other possible options to build/model this. Any suggestions?
whitekeys
The only other way I could think of saving points based on this disadvantage would be to limit the BODY characteristic. I assume, since the character has a solid metal body, it probably has some extra BODY kickin' around. You could put a Limitation Can Only Be Healed Through Specific Power -2 at least. It's pretty limiting, I'd say. But your original plan seems like the best to me.
Duke Bushido
Does he Recover normally, or is there something unique there, too? And what sort of Healing-type builds _do_ help him (if any)?
Christopher
Healing is defined as a "Power that can heal body damage". Despite it's names implications*, it can effortlessly heal non-living objects. Even with the same build. It belongs to the Adjustment Powers. Reasoning from special effect for those never works. We have thus far failed to even figure out one common special effect for power defense. *The book itself says it well: "Do not let the powers name imply anything about what it can or can not do. We simply have not found a less misleading name yet. The Description clearly says what the power can not do." If he is "non-organic", that might imply some stuff from the Automtaton Power list:Does not Bleed in particular comes to mind, but you might be tempted to add "Takes no Stun" or "can not be stunned". For a player I would highly advise against anything except does not bleed. We also need to define what the limits of that limitation is: Does he still heal normally? What if he turned into a mortal being, would the injury still be there? Could it be treated?
