I've always loved Dark Champions back in the day, and also Danger Interantional, as a Modern version of Hero - Now I have 5th's version of them, and I'm so excited that I've put my Champions game on hold, and will be running a Heroic level Game using Dark Champions. It'll be base mostly on Stargate SG1 with a bit of Sliders thrown in, all with a heavy Cyber/Techno Mega Corp overtone.

Here is one of our hero bases.

Come on guys I know that some of you must be avid map drawers out there post a few. we all would like them. As you can see by mine they don't have to be lovely just usable.

Nice work on this one Shikarr... Really well done. I use to have TONS of maps, but a 'Unfortunate Mishap' destroyed all of my old gamming stuff... since the rebuilding I have only maped out 1 base... But I'm @ work right now so I can't post it... my Website has a bit of it if you like to see it.

In my Current Campaign Neo-Dawn Champions one of the PCs is heavily Endorsed, and lives his life just like any other Celeb. Parties, Promotions, Public Appearances etc... His main Sponsor is Pepsi Co and Mt Dew in particular. Thrash is Everything that the Pepsi Gen wants to be, and Mt Dew drinkers strive for. In the game he's a BIG time X-treme sports freak, and even appeared in 'XXX-2' with Vin Diesel (The player is a big fan)

His public ID & his love of the limelight has cost the Character a lot over the course of the game. and the PC is at a turnign point, and is starting crave some privacy and wants to tone down the Publicity.

See I even added the Mt Dew Logo to his pic... it's so much a part of the Character.

I really like the Pics AslanC Your friend had a real flair, she gives them all a nice quality (can't at this time quantify just what) that I wish I could capture in my female pics.

    Thanx for posting

Call me crazy' date=' but there are aspects of the first one that I like better. In particular, I like the odd, not quite defined look of the stripes in the first version better than I like the follow-up version. I do agree that the star effect, the face, the dress, and the clear (as opposed to dotted) background are better on the second version, but I miss the look of the cloak.[/quote']

I'm in agreement here... In any Event Great work as always Blue

  9. Re: How many is enough??

Yeah 3 does sound small for "Team" but remember some teams are that small, Look at SG1 (if you watch that show) there are only 4 of them, and you could round out the PCs with an NPC until you can round up some more players. I think that a group as little as 3 can still have the whole 'Team' accoutrements, but I can see where it might feel a bit extravagant or uneeded.

I personally like having an NPC in the group, although I'm starting to regret this since I now have 7 Players, and I'm honestly thinking that 7 is too many to do the kinda in depth Plot development for each of the players I really like, but were all friends, and I can't see loosing any 1 of them if you know what I mean.

As for our game with such a large team 7 PCs + a few NPCs (Team members & Support) they have the whole Avenger's style facilities, Team Vehicles, Quarters, Guards etc...

So embrace the smaller group for now and take the time to delve into some deeper personaly plot lines with each of them while you have the time.

  10. Re: Leagacy of Iron: Power Suit characters...

Speaking of Anime' date=' I was always partial to the Robotech saga. I was particularly fond of the Cyclone battle armor that had a multiform. The rider had to wear a suit but when not riding the Cyclone motorcycle it would transform into components of the battle armor and greatly amplify the strength of the suit. I created a charecter based on this concept (or as others would say it stole) as one of my early charecters (roughly 1989).[/quote']

I always loved the Cyclone too. I have always strived to Build one in nearly every campaign I've been in. I have one in 5th Ed that just ROCKS he's a very effective character, and is a blast to play. Unfourtunatly that game eneded, but I'm really tempted to bring the cyclone into my game, as possibly a group of agents. You can check out a pic of my character over on the Superhero Images thread Pg 21 or here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149&page=21&pp=15

Here's another picture that I posted in B&W line format a while back. Now colored. Her name is Firedrake and now that I've gotten her colored' date=' I can see there's more than a little bit of influence from Morningstar, of Bill Willinghams's [i']Elementals[/i], in her costume design and overall look. Ah well, we steal only from the best... ^_^

EXELENT Coloring job Logan... Like Mags said I'm not a big fan of the anime style, but this looks GREAT

  12. Re: Superhero Images

Way back in about '86 or '87 there was a brief fad in the Champions group I was in for drawing the covers of the comics that our PCs were supposed to be appearing in. I'm not much of a draughtsman' date=' but I ground out a series of seven satirical covers for my battlesuit characer, Colonel Carnage. Here is number 7, to make those of you who can draw look good.[/quote']

Hey Agemegoes, that's not bad... I'd like to see the other issues 1-6. It's far better than my stuff from back in the late 80s

  13. Re: The Last Hurrah (adventure for your use)

Dang it Agent X you didn't let me finish, Flipping Traffic :doi:

Anyway where was I?... Oh yeah...

Now that I've established my position on Regan, let me say this. His Adventure was just fine the Secret Doomsday Location, with it's own arsenal of Nukes is SO perfectly plausible given the political climate of the era. I would however have to side with others that the portrayal of Regan was a bit inaccurate, and did make him out to be a Crazed Warmonger, and with the nation still mourning his loss I can see how some might have become inflamed with CJ use of him in a fictional medium.

    OK On to Chuckg:

Had I been in your shoes for this little (OK LONG) debate, I probably would have become upset too. Not only am I (as stated before) a Strong Fan of Regan, I am the biggest Debater on the planet... and minutia is where I thrive. (Probably one of the reasons I DON'T post all that often) You too had valid point, but in the End... it's a game, and both you and Agent X LOVE this game why let it get to you as bad as it did. Please take a step back (as I often have to do) and look at this again. Even if CJ Retconed so what... Even if he made it seem as if he had the best written Adventure of all time, and didn't want to change a drop of it, so what?

I for one don't like the understanding of Pres Regan he has, he's admitted that he's not 'of the age where I remember Ronald Reagan' And that what he does know (In my Opinion) is only base on what he's learned either though the Media or some other source which (one again only my opinion) may be a bit slanted.

So in closing I'm going to take elements of his Adventure (Very well put developed I think) take what I want, change other aspects & ditch the rest. I'd like to think that he hasn't been chased away, and that everyone here who got a bit hot under the collar can cool off, and get back to making these boards fun for everyone... no matter HOW MANY post we may have.

  14. Re: The Last Hurrah (adventure for your use)

Wheeew... I just read all of that today.

OK 1st off. Agent X: Well done rebuttle there. While I'm a very staunch Regan Fan, I served in the USMC under him, and I will admit I have a VERY high opinon of him. I think you defended you position very well, and maintained your composure. I too think tha CJ was miss-representing our former Pres. I do not however think this is due to any political leaning one way or the other, as was stated by CJ himself he's a teenager, and I'm sure that his future life experiances will help him to fomulate his political leaning (if he ever gets one) But for now he's just going on what he's learned. To be honest I don't see alot of factual information about Pres Regan out there unless your of the ilk that will ferett it out and devoure it Like I may be.

Now that I've established my position on Regan, let me say this. His Adventure was just fine the Secret Doomsday Location, with it's own arsenel of Nukes

**Dang need to Go... Will finish this whne I get home**

  15. Re: [Western Champions] Chamions of the West Super Team

Yup you got it The TombStone Kid. I did a scarry write up of him in 5th Ed, with a Pic to go with... my PCs HATED him... One even took to Hunting him, and finished the job just this past Jan. I'd love to see him resurface in 5th Ed Even if just in the past.

As for the Steam Powered armor... WOW that's one tough Hombre!! a 15rPd WOW, he'll steam roll over most any conventional weapon of that day. I sudder to see the write up for the Villains.

    Yikes!!!

  16. Re: [Western Champions] Chamions of the West Super Team

Last night I was talking to my wife, and she felt I should include a gadgeteer into the group. It got me thinking of a steam powered armor suited defender (OIF/Bulky), the problem I have is it does go against the general feel of "Dark Champions meets the west", at the same time it would be something interesting.

    Thoughts?

I was always thinking that Your John Harmond was a psudo Gadgeteer, and if not beign the Jack of all trades would should have him leaning in that direction anyway.

Also I think you HAVE to have the man who killed the Undertaker be Alex Tubbs, A young Brash Gunslinger who would take on the curse once the Undertaker catches up w/him. (I hope you Old Time Herophiles, catch my 4th ed ref)

Fantastic! Awesome... Love the look of this guy :) Very high-tech cop

    Thanx

It's an Old pic, but yeah I always liked the overall design. He's not a cop, but I can see the likeness... never looked at him like that, but I guess, like someone said eailer "Maybe I'm too close to it"

Anyway he was a normal guy, with the Mutant ability to make gadgets... you know to make things out of junk and other parts... things that should work, but do for some reason.

    Thanx again

  18. Re: Superhero Images

I'm not sure why it matters' date=' though.[/quote']

Your right... just a quirk of mine.

Anyway it made me nostalgic for my old char Gadgeteer, so I found the colored version of him from back in 90-91. The sheet it's on was taken from a template he got from a game store, he sd he got it from Albert Deschesund (sp?) himself, I don't know I didn't get a chance to run down there myself. anyway I liked the Idea of a few alt angels of the char, but back then I wasn't all that good, so I just used the same pose, and changed the costume... I think I used ADs profile on this one... I used the templates he had on these for a few other chars, but not this one... Like I said I got the pose from that Gemini char in the old Villains book.

  19. Re: Superhero Images

Graet stuff.... TacSec looks very much like he is based on th pose of Defender from the Champions 4th Ed book.

bblackmoor: I am reasonably sure that drawing predates Champions 4, but it's possible that you are correct and I simply don't remember it.

I checked the Defender pic... and while really close that's not it. Now on the otherhand, I think I know exactly what pic he used. It's one I've used a few times myself when I was searching for poses. It's Gemini from an old 3rd ed Villains book. Can't remember exactly but it might have been Villainy Unbound.

Here's an old pic that I drew way back then.. you'll see it's prety close to the same pose... I ajusted some things, but if my memory servs (and I'm prety good at poses... not much else, just poses) then I'm right.

    Oh Rock me Amadeus !

(Rep to anyone who can tell me what this means)

Oh come on now Tribble... the Infamouse 80's tune by Falko (the 1 hit wonder) from Germany. 'Rock Me Amadeus'

    I loved that catchy tune!!

  21. Re: Once more in English, please?

But some heraldic stuff can't easily be described in any way other than heraldic terms. A chevron is a chevron; I'm not going to call it "an upside down V." ;) Similarly for things like cotised, an animal depicted guardant, and so on. Besides which, the heraldic language has a great "flavor."

Well I for one did enjoy your use of the Heraldic terms... but do you think that we might ever see, perhaps on the 'Free Stuff' page some of these grand "Arms/Symbol" you have created in actual Visual form... you know kool pics an such.
