  1. Re: What defines a Superhuman?

    That depends on the genre. In a Dark Champions campaign your cabbie might be considered superhuman, in Fantasy Hero a STR of 25 could be considered superhuman. Maybe a quick definition of "superhuman" would be anyone who easily surpasses what the average "normal" in a setting can do. Mind you that "superheroic" would be possessing any ability that is found outside the realm of our reality.

  2. Re: Constant Shapeshifting disadvantage

    Accidental Change sounds good' date=' perhaps with a point reduction that the character can potentially make an EGO roll to prevent the reversion.[/quote']

    I agree, just choose the roll to change appropriately. How often can they make an EGO roll?? If they only fail such a roll Infrequently then the Accidental Change should be 8 or less, you'll be assumed to be resisting but fail only so often.

  3. Re: Curse My Gamer ADD (aka, I Really Shouldn't Have Watched "X-Men: First Class")

    I can also relate to your dilemna. Just recently I was going over some ideas for a modern day supers campaign in a not so traditional setting [ not CU ] and then stories for a modern day espionage game started to delevop. Here's what I did; I created a binder and put seperate campaign ideas into different sections and the one that filled out best/most I would run. Maybe if you pitched your ideas to the board others might comment on their interest seeing as you are looking for players anyway??

  4. Re: What power ideas/concepts do you get from these code names?

    I'm working on a villain team from an unusual inspiration and I hoped to get some suggestions for possible powers and concepts from their future codenames.

    Villian ---> Secret ID

    Code Red == fireman

    Pitch Black == Does roofing

    Livewire == Messenger delivery person

    Throwback == Catcher/baseball

    White Out == Office supply clerk

    Voltage == Electrician

    Supernova == Hosts documentary on PBS

    Revolution == Fixes clocks

    Ultraviolet == Painter

    :eg:

  5. Re: Character Complication Help

    I once played a "Green Lantern" homage called Blue Beacon. His powers were based off a mystic force in the universe that manifested itself in the color blue. He was a "Scrooge" type, selfish sort, the "power" chose him because of that fact- HE WAS UNWORTHY. He thought he had to make up for his selfishness.

    Thus for him I took "Trying to buy his way into Heaven" disadvantage. So you might want to consider things like that for your character. Be creative!

  6. Re: overmentalizing

    I have to ask what happens if you "turn things around"? What if a villian uses his telepathy and mind control to do similiar things? He Mind Controls people to commit crimes or "bear false witness" against a certain hero. What if this villian uses Telepathy on someone to get information concerning say security systems of a location. Could you imagine;"I have no idea how they got past our security"

    Lets see your players stop this guy, it will give you great ideas on how to stop them!

    Legally speaking is use of telepathy "Illegal search and seizure?"?

  7. Re: Conceptual Idea: A world full of supers

    Actually there was a skit on Monty Python involving this idea. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, had superpowers BUT a rare few had menial skills. Anybody remember; BICYCLE-REPAIRMAN???

    SKIT: This guy dressed like Superman sees someone having trouble with their bicycle, he "changes" into Bicycle Repaiman he then walks over and fixes the bike.

  8. Re: Distinguishing Normal Charcteristics

    Min/Maxing aside, a person with an 10 in some statistics takes 3 exp to get to 13, while a person with

    12 takes 1 exp to get to 13. Seems like simple math but you may have to go on more adventures to

    earn those 3 exp then you would 1 exp. Maybe some people learn faster or train more intensely, whatever reason you choose it goes to the character make-up.

  9. Re: Distinguishing Normal Charcteristics

    It may not seem like much but EGO 12 is a bit harder to mentally affect compared to EGO 11, at one point in Champions you had to get 2 times or 3 times EGO to affect a target. STR 12 can lift more then STR 11 can, CON 12 is harder to "stun" then CON 11 and so forth.

    Maybe these small differences are ALOT when you have Normal Characterists Maxima, they add up.

  10. :confused: I was wondering if anyone here had any advice for how to write an interesting origin for a character. What to include, how long etc..?

    I usually start with the "event" itself ;what triggers the change into a superhero type. Then a paragraph or so on major events both before the "event", and after, making sure to note how/why the character decided on a name, major disadvantages etc.

  11. Re: Riddle me this....

    He agreed on one term. Answer his riddle.

    The riddle is simple: "What does a wise unicorn say?"

    What would your answer to my riddle be?

    He says nothing, for it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool

    then to open one's mouth and remove all doubt

  12. Re: Giant Monster!

    Well' date=' the absorption to radiation attacks works, if you consider a radiation attack as an RKA NND that does body and assuming it has immunity to radiation. The points gained from the Absorption will add to Growth.[/quote']

    Now there's an interesting question, Can you build a character with both Size Template and Growth or Shrinking on top of that? Thus they are stuck a certain size but can grow/shrink further. Seems like a

    way to build a Galactus type.

  13. Re: Flame manipulation?

    Based on Fires, FRED P 444

    "Move" Fire; Suppress [Fire] 8d6 , Area Effect 6 hexes (+3/4) PLUS Energy Blast [Fire] 6d6 { based on Suppress, cannot use more dice then suppressed roll, must have fire source }

    Special effect: Fire is stopped in one area and sent to another area.:smoke:
