  1. Update -- As noted, ARL, the Blood, the Circle, the Wanderers, and the Cult of the Beast are complete. I have made a few edits, but I feel they are done. The Families has grown a bit. It is a 4k words and most of that is a list of notable Families members, each with a short description. I have found a number of character sheets to add to the Families section. A few actual Families members and then a scattering of agents of the Reapers. The file I am working from lists a lot of people, but there is nothing there to work with. After the Families it will be Yooso. For those who own Ninja Hero 4e it is pretty much the same guys, just updated to 6e. In fact, if Dirt (Tsuchi in NH4e) is anything to go by, its the same character sheets, just updated to 6e. We'll see. The Hell Raisers had a lot of members. Like... a dozen or more. And multiple leaders (including Dark Seraph). I decided to present the team as it first appeared (which is also how the team appears in the GURPS Supers adventure School of Hard Knocks). I hope to be done around the end of March.
  2. The Temples of Syrinx probably had something to do with it.
  3. Okay, here is where Strike Force Organizations stands: I have completed and uploaded to a Google Drive the following: ARL, the Blood, the Circle, the Wanderers, and the Cult of the Beast. Cult of the Beast expands on the material in Aaron Allston's Strike Force. It is 3200 words, mostly detailing the Cult's organization. It includes one sample magic item and a single NPC. Next up is Carousel/Families/Reapers. I will repeat the Background for Alasdar Dell as that is the origin of the Families. The rest of this section will probably be all character sheets of different Families members. Last will be Yoosoo. This will be a fairly complete entry, as Aaron did write a background and I have a lot of character sheets to work with. The cast is pretty much the same as what was seen in Ninja Hero 4e (I think). I may consider the Hell Raisers, which is Denier's supervillain team. I'd need to talk to Jason Walters to see what he says.
  4. I am going to revisit Cult of the Beast. I have some additional information and a character sheet to add. It won't be much, but it will give an idea of the Cult's structure.
  5. An update on Strike Force Organizations. Okay, so, let's be honest, I worked on Aaron Allston's Strike Force eight years ago. So, when I excitedly laid out my idea list of expanded organizations, I TOTALLY forgot I had put the Cult of the Beast into Aaron Allston's Strike Force. And looking over what there was left made me decide there was no point. So I have moved on the the Families. The issue I now face is that there is no real origin for them -- the Background/History for Alasdar Dell's entry in AASF pretty much sums up how the Families came to be. I am thinking I will repeat Alasdar's origin, and use that to set the stage for the six character sheets I have -- other members of the Families and some of their superhuman agents. Now, when it comes to Yooso, I have an update origin for the group, updated character sheets, and other material, so this will proceed as planned.
  6. I had to revise this as I forgot an Advantage. But you get the scale of Aaron's take on cosmic supers.
  7. A sneak peak at the Wanderers portion of Strike Force Organizations: Transportation 50,000 Light Years Away: Teleportation 1m, x8,192 Increased Mass, MegaScale (1m = 50,000 lightyears; +5 1/2), Cannot Alter Scale (-1/4) (412 Active Points); Extra Time (1 Turn; -1 1/4), Linked (Gravitational Attraction Field;; -1/4), Side Effects (Götterdämmerung enters an extended coma lasting months to years; -2). Total cost: 91 points.
  8. Update for those following the Strike Force Organizations progress: the Wanderers are at ~24,000 words. I need to add the Campaign Use and Scenario sections, edit the character sheets a bit, fix some errors, and do some formatting. I hope to have this section done by the end of the week or so.
  9. Nothing says Champions like stating out a 50' tall Nazi whose 1st power is "Giant Luger" (6d6 RKA). This is part of the Wanderers chapter, a villain (naturally), who is the 50' tall leader of the Strike Force Nazi faction. His name is Götterdämmerung and he totals 1973 points. I am going to offer a different take on one of his powers as (IMO) 6e allows for a cleaner version. The Wanderers, to be clear, are 750-point base supers. So... yeah, cosmic-scale action.
  10. Aaron was part of Rogue's Gallery for years and a lot of his universe was published there. So, the Wanderers were a fully-realized Rogue's Gallery article first. Once he started assembling material for his planned series of Strike Force Universe books, he ported the whole article over as is. A lot of what I am working from is his scattered histories and notes for his Strike Force Universe project, which vary in completeness.
  11. The nice things about the Wanderers is Aaron wrote a very complete file on them -- origin, characters, villain, and scenario. I will need to organize it, do some editing, and get it formatted, but this will be fairly quick. Then comes the Cult of the Beast.
  12. I have started on the Wanderers, a group of cosmic (900+ point) supers.
  13. Aaron Allston Martial Arts Styles is complete and will go up on DTRPG tonight and will be sent to Jason as well.
  14. An update on Strike Force Organizations. Cult of the Beast, Carousel (et al), Wanderers, and Yooso are go. That is all.
  15. An update on Strike Force Organizations. I have emailed Jason and we are in discussion. I have asked him about either including Cult of the Beast, Carousel (et al), Wanderers, and Yooso, or creating a second book. I have been given the OK to create a stand-alone Aaron Allston's Martial Arts Styles as a Surbrook Press PDF product.
  16. There may not be anyone behind Yooso. It might be a team all by itself, formed by sorcerers and the like in opposition to the Circle and Ichi-Ban. I will have to see what Jason says and if he thinks a 2nd volume is worthwhile. I have suggested the idea.
  17. I have asked Jason about them. Note that if I was able to present Yooso, what you'd get is not exactly what was in Ninja Hero 4e. Okay, for the record, I have emailed Jason and asked about the following groups: Carousel/Families/Reapers Cult of the Beast Wanderers Yooso and (unrelated to the core book) Martial Arts Styles Note that if all of the groups listed above (1-4) were included, the book would probably double in size to 140k words or so.
  18. I need to hear from Jason first.
  19. "I'm beginning to see Brooks [Robinson] in my sleep,” [Sparky] Anderson said afterward. “If I dropped a paper plate, he'd pick it up on one hop and throw me out at first.” Former Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Carl Erskine once described his strategy of pitching to Musial: "I've had pretty good success with Stan by throwing him my best pitch and backing up third." Apparently the way to pitch to Hank Aaron was to make sure no one else was on base. One of the Washington Nationals TV guys once said that the way to pitch to Giancarlo (then Mike) Stanton of the Florida Marlins at Nats Park is to just go ahead and turn around & throw the ball over the right field wall.
  20. Okay, so here is the latest Strike Force Organizations update. It's done. Okay, maybe not totally done, but ALR, Blood, and Circle are done. Total count is 72,982 words. I have taken the contents of the two Org books, added in what I could from Aaron's digital files, updated everything to 6e, and added new content and characters. I have sent an email to Jason outlining what i have done and what we may want to do next. I have asked about adding the Cult of the Beast, Carousel/the Reapers, and the Wanderers. I have also mentioned the Wanderers as a stand-alone product. I have also asked about releasing Aaron's suite of martial arts styles as a Surbrook Press PDF-only product.
  21. Okay, update -- The Circle is at ~18,000 words. All of the NPCs are complete, as is the description of the Garden. Next up are the scenarios with some updated NPC sheets. Then... well, then I talk to Jason. The Cult of the Beast comes up so much, I'd like to cobble together what I can and present that. Current word count is: 68,000.
