  1. My group now has several members and we have decided to co-GM. Have any of you ever done this? I did it years ago with a D&D group with too many players. What we did was one person handle the story and one do the mechanics. It turned out quite well and was quite a relief for the DMs. I was wondering if the anyone has tried this with Champions. Second question. This is the largest group I have had and we have two "divine" based characters. Was wondering if there would be any problem with them "stepping on each others' toes"? Alien guy from Planet Jendell (tech stuff, minor abilities) Egyptian Warrior (khopesh sword, martial+divine abilities) Lennabhair (nature/divine abilities) Powersurge (electrical manipulation) Mystic Monk (mentalist+minor magic) Big Dude (brick) Catscratch (self explanatory) Secret Asian Man (martial arts/covert ops) I am letting them build their characters unsupervised to see how creative they can be, anything I should be aware of??
  2. Re: Champions for newcomers. Hooray! I still play 4th edition...
  3. Re: Origins campaign Ran three origins solo adventures so far out of six. Two of them went well and one was "meh". One of the players is really diggin it and may quite possibly turn into a detective sort of character. The one guy was ok but I could tell it needed spiced up a bit. It may turn out alright, I don't think they mind the low powerd part as much as the lack of combat part. I faced this when I ran D&D games, some liked the combat and some preferred the proficiencies and role playing more. It may all work out.
  4. Re: Anyone else hate Wolverine? I have always thought Sabretooth was the better of the two characters.
  5. My last couple of attempts at GMing were disastrous but I am not giving up. I had an idea for a campaign which may or may not be interesting. My thoughts were to do a small-ish origins campaign with a few small one on one adventures with each character before they form as a team. They are complete strangers to each other and are normals. They become friends/teammates close to the end of the origins adventures and gain their abilities close to the end of the origins campaign. The characters will be very low powered /realistic (think TV version Hulk rather than comic book Hulk). Any thoughts? You folks have a lot more experience with this so I'm wondering if this would be interesting to you... Thanks.
  6. Re: Naming the first superhero I was going to suggest 'Alpha' but it appears you have made your decision. Vanguard sounds good too.
  7. I had an idea for a new storyline. The main baddies are a secret organisation (not so new there) but this organisation is extradimensional and extratemporal as well as downright weird. They are manipulating events on earth from government coverups to petty crimes and the characters may not have any real contact with this organisation for a long time. I got my inspiration for this from a child's sci-fi book I read when I was in elementary school titled "The Tutti Frutti Connection":oSilly I know. The heroes may find themselves having to align themselves with some other bad guys who don't want to cooperate with this organisation. Who knows what can happen.
  8. We have a new GM (after I killed everyone in the last campaign) who is wanting us to play supernatural based characters. I chose the mind flayer mentalist who comes from the realm of nightmares/another plane of existence and is marginally good aligned. He (it) is in the first stages of construction (I usually build a rough draft and then take it through a couple of tweaking stages) and should prove to be my most challenging character build since I don't have a great deal of experience building characters. We have about 5 other players and would like some suggestions on types of supernatural creatures/beings that would sound interesting to build. I would also like some suggestions on whether we should stick to 5e or make the expensive jump to 6e.... Thanks.
  9. Re: New character idea. can ugliness be used as a power?
  10. Re: New character idea. Yes. But they are actually uglier than that Just without the goofy gothic stuff, lol. http://api.ning.com/files/7p0-c*QsO-*l3YLyTKY55zyuWuFtgTFO5huwkT*qE2oMuRfAHA1BMiR3sPVf5Kz9*0vbVs2RNRzpYAyqODz9CsOvUDPT9di5/IllithidAnatomy.jpg
  11. Re: New character idea. Was thinking about giving him a psionic device which allows him to channel his psionics into abilities normally not used by telepaths. Maybe I could work some TK based force fields in it...
  12. Re: New character idea. Some valid points. Many thanks. I think I may give him some tough skin and maybe a minor force field or something to help him survive.
  13. It took quite a bit of pleading with the GM but he is allowing me to play a mentalist who is basically an illithid from D&D. The tentacles and frail body and vast amounts of pure ugliness. I know how I am doing most of the build but I need some advice on two of its abilities. He is quite frail but his defense lies in an innate ability to make people avoid him. People attacking find themselves preferring to concentrate on anything but him. The more they want to attack him the stronger the aversion is. How would one go about this? He has a physical attack with his tentacles. He has 4 tentacles around his mouth which each will do a minor bit of damage but when all 4 hit he sucks their brains out (like the illithids). Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks in advance...

  15. Re: A Stranger in Space Well done. Science Fiction rarely grabs my attention but this story did just that. This one had a feel of the older stories I read growing up. Thank you...
  16. Re: Wand of wonder like power I waned to make a character with random powers but didn't know how to go about it. Let me know how it turns out

    Death Touch

Re: Death Touch Thank you all for your input and advice. Right now I am using 4th edition until I can scrounge up more players...I cannot justify buying a $50+ book if I have nobody to play with. The character is going to be a major villain and I do intend to give her some defenses and movement but her main defense is her underlings.

    Death Touch

Re: Death Touch I am thinking it will kill outright all but the hardiest of beings and still being quite a shock to those who survive it. Something even Supes won't take lightly. She is mostly normal aside from this ability. Forgive me but I am still relatively inexperienced with the intricacies of the game...

    Death Touch

Hey all. Designing a new female character whose primary ability is a touch attack which just outright kills people. It works through clothing and even armour but is strongest with direct skin contact. She can do other things through touch but they are minor. My question is how to treat this, HKA or Body Drain?

  22. Re: Ideas needed... Because in a future with super powered beings there is a greater chance of defeating it. The gods know these tings... U got a better reason for sending an ancient Egyptian warrior to the future?
  23. Re: Ideas needed... Thanks for the input. The nemesis is an evil entity older than humanity itself (thinking Cthulu with a dash of Shadow King) who has a small yet powerful cult in the modern day. The hero is sent to the present by the Egyptian pantheon to combat this evil. The more I think about it the goofier it sounds, lol. He was originally going to be a Neanderthal sent by the tribe's shaman for the ultimate in culture shock but thought it was too ridiculous
  24. I am building an Egyptian warrior on the 250 point level. He has journeyed to the present to battle an evil entity from ages before the dawn of man. Aside from building just a brute with a sword I want him to have mystic abilities as well, possibly granted to him by the Egyptian deities. Any ideas? He also needs a proper Egyptian name.
