what about adding damage to a lightsaber attack based on ego instead of strength?
-
also, were doing some crosslinking on a couple of traveller sites, since theres definately an interest in traveller and hero cross genres
-
after a brief hiatus, I am hard at work on more assorted gadget conversions, this time some star wars weapons and whatever else my warped little mind comes up with
-
the honorverse ships are covered fairly well as far as tonnages and size, but again, they dont tell us what tonnage means, but with the D20 Honorverse coming out, I think we can rectify that

I like the idea of witchcraft turning the chinese kid into a frog, but just turn parts of him into a frog for a day
tongue and a temporary taste for bugs would do the trick

I've been running A Hero version of Stalking the Night Fantastic for several years off and on... Stalking/Bureau 13
is pretty good for agent level characters
and the bureau website has some great ideas for other genre games
-
somewhere I have some size writeups for some of the dropships from Battletech
based on displacement tonnage
I also have a table borrowed from Traveller the New Era that helps figure actual lengths and area based on a given tonnage
-
as another serious starship gearhead. although being a heretic in that I never thought most of the trek ships didnt even resemble a proper starship.... most of my tinkering and comparisons have been by using volume... usually displacement tons... I have done a hull conversion chart for converting traveller tonnage to hero, and could ramp one up for space opera just as easily.
the size comparison site is nice, but gives no real indication of a baseline size in most cases.
we know that the Babylon 5 station was something like a mile long and 2.5 million tons, but was that metric tons or displacement tons of volume?
I use the figure of a displacement ton being 13.5 cubic meters

do new Lieutenants's take a -2 for map reading and orienteering?

Here ya go, one set of generic stormtrooper armor
add special gadgets and simmer to taste
-
heres my take on standard stormtrooper armor
8 PD/ED ablative armor, counts as real armor
I dont see any reason to make it hardened, and I would give it an activation roll due to its gaps and weak points. it has basic environmental features, pretty much just heat and cold insulation.
according to some of the books the helmet is fitted with a short range radio and acts as a gas mask, but isnt fitted for oxygen tanks or anything
Again this is a basic take, I will post something better written later today

I model comm lasers like this, just a simple mind link
it will require line of sight, and may at lower tech levels be affected by rain or smoke, both units also need a compatible mind link or computer link, since its a tight beam and hard to intercept, you could make it difficult to dispel

assorted electronic warfare gear, not just from traveller
-
the press release says it will be out late summer this year...

heres a rough take on the Sphinxian treecat
-
heres my take on the 50 ton modular so ubiquitous to all the versions of traveller
I havent done any modules yet, was debating the best way to do them

another one of my old traveller characters, who died after his engine room exploded in his face during a rescue mission to a zho border world
