  1. Re: Creating the power H to H Reflection Redirect is an option for Grab. Grab and Throw, Grab and Squeeze, Grab and Block, Grab and Redirect. It's used to simulate the old swahbuckling movies where you catch the guy's sword arm and use his momemtum to hit someone else. Hmmmmmm..... Might be an option for Weapon Bind not Grab. SAW
  2. Re: Answers & Questions Q. What did Gulliver say of his travels in Lilliput? A. A bathrobe, a spatula and a six pack of Vaseline. SAW
  3. Re: Summon vs. Duplication, Invisible Power Effects for >1 action? I have no idea what movie you're talking about, but the effect you're looking for sounds like it could be made by buying RKA AF x20 and then purchasing all of the various Autofire Skills. Add PSLs and CSLs to taste and you're good to go. SAW (with a little help from T-Man)

    Heat seeker

  5. Re: Mind controll Vs Mind Controll the Jerq told me he had started this post and I forgot about it, so I will now explain my side (i.e. what really happened ). I was running "Sharper Than a Serpents Tooth" and as an interesting add-on I decided to give COIL's leader (King Cobra I think) the ability to No Range Mind-control the plague victims. None of my players knew this(as it should be). My co-GM (who was running the brick in question) came to me with the idea of possibly infecting his character. Being the evil GM that I am I of course readily agreed. I knew it would eventually come to the point where the brick would be controled to kill her teammates. I also saw an opportunity to advance a plot thread that I had been running for several months. In my mind the solution was not to break the mind-control but to cure the brick of the plague (which was done by Dr. Destroyer's newest head minion "Death", thus advancing my plot thread). While I may have been rigid in my thinking on how things should go I did give JeRQ's ideas due consideration and I discussed them with my co-GM (as I do with all rules questions) and we both agreed that they weren't going to work. I don't believe an increase in EGO changes a situation for effect roll purposes and I did adjust the victim's breakout roll (which admitedly was almost immpossible to hit; she had a 10 EGO to start with and it was drained down by two days of battling the COIL virus). Of course I realized later that JeRQ had purchased Healing not Aid. No big deal. SAW P.S. The only rolls I make behind a screen are to-hit rolls. That way I can fudge for characters who have been getting pasted or against cocky characters who havn't been touched.

    Heat seeker

Re: Heat seeker As the Jerq's GM, why does it frighten me to read about powers he wants here first?
  7. Can you use an All Combat skill level to add to your ECV if you normally use said skill level for OCV/DCV? Or do you have to designate a level for ECV permanently? SAW
  8. Let's say I have a 15d6 Energy Blast with a +1/2 Variable Advantage. Normally I could drop the EB to 14d6 and spread to hit two targets. If I use the +1/2 to make a One Hex AOE EB may I still reduce the EB to 14d6 and have two One Hex AOE attacks? SAW
  9. Does anyone know if the "the Tick" cartoon series is available on DVD anywhere? Tugun Master, I'll bite. Where is A.L.B.A.L.D.U.?
  10. I can't believe he didn't see it coming Before one of our gaming sessions one of my players brought up the fact that "Since we have a critical hit system on a natural 3, we should have a critical miss on a natural 18". Everyone in the group thought it was a good idea and I agreed that we would give it trial run and see how it worked out. That same game session the players faced off against the minions of Dr. Destroyer (in my game Dr. D doesn't use human troops, he uses robots like the Trade Federation droids from Star Wars Episode 1). The player who lobbied for the "crit miss" rule was playing a speedster and decided to try and disarm several of the droids. First droid gun he grabbed, you guessed it, natural 18. I ruled that he grabbed the gun but instead of pulling it away he pulled it just enough for the robot's hand to trigger it. The 2d6+1 RKA went off right into his chest. I actually rolled an 18 myself except mine was two damage dice and a Stun multiplier. He was stunned and somewhere around 2-3 stun. Needless to say we still use the "crit miss" rule. There's just too much comedy potential not to. He hasn't suggested any new rules changes since then. SAW
  11. The Gateway Guardians are based in "The Gateway to the West" St. Louis, MO. The Gateway Arch is actually a site of mystic power and has attracted much weirdness over the years. Unbeknownst to most people (including the players ) the Arch was designed by a slightly insane engineer who dabbled in magic. He used special materials in the construction that he thought would help attract mystic energies. He was correct. However, he was incorrect in thinking that he could control said energies and he died, of what most people think was a heart attack, right after it's completion. Speaking as someone who lives in southern Illinois, don't go breaking too much stuff. SAW
