  1. Re: What's the most ridiculous PC you've ever been subjected to? Cybernetic experiment like in Robocop II. You could still fire the main gun at equipment... like that T-shirt the man just happened to jump into right as you fired.
  2. Re: Partially Limited Powers, Adders or Advantages? What you're wanting to do is very unique -- you're going to have to use a custom Limitation. But here goes: 44 Force Field (10 PD/10 ED), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Persistent (+1/2), Usable Simultaneously (up to 4 people at once; +3/4) (55 Active Points); 15- Reducing Activation Roll, Only While Anastasia is Unconscious (-1/4) OR: 32 Force Field (10 PD/10 ED), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Uncontrolled (+1/2) (40 Active Points); 15- Reducing Activation Roll, Only While Anastasia is Unconscious (-1/4) That's my $0.02
  3. In this thread: suppress damage shield is this answer: Which seems to contradict the quote below, from FAQ: Power Advantages and Add-Ons Which is it?
  4. I would agree, if I were using the Focus Limitation (or some other substitute). The F/X in question are "A 'battlesuit' made of a Controlled Polymer that can flow, and harden, at will". But I'm not using any Limitations like Focus, OIHID, or "Battlesuit". Let me restate my question in a very general (power construction) way: Since Life Support isn't inherently Inherent it can be turned off by the character. Given this, I was wondering about what happens when the Life Support power is turned on after the character has been exposed to something that the LS would normally protect against. In such an example, is the "default" effect that the Life Support (sans Limitations) rids/cures the character of the "problem", or merely suppresses it until the Life Support is turned off?
  5. Would "Does Not Purge ______ From Body(-?)" be a legal Limitation to take on an Immunity that, due to F/X, wouldn't be active all the time? This is to simulate that while "suited up", the character is immune due to a physical barrier (like an N.B.C. suit), but if exposed to ______ while the power is inactive, activating the power doesn't "cure" the character. If it is legal, could you suggest a Limitation value? If not legal (presumimg that activating Life Support doesn't cure), what kind/level of Advantage would achieve that? Thanks,
  6. Re: Global Guardians PBEM: 3 Immediate Openings You mean there are times when ignorance is good?
  7. Re: Global Guardians PBEM: 3 Immediate Openings I think Jack requests that you put the word "Subscribe" in the subject line.
  8. Re: What's the most ridiculous PC you've ever been subjected to? Only for half of them. The other half: Combat Monsters, Inc.
  9. Re: Global Guardians PBEM: 3 Immediate Openings Jack, could you tell me if my previous submission of Entropy was not accepted due to being flawed in some way?
  10. Re: What's the most ridiculous PC you've ever been subjected to? LOL!! Oh, geez.
  11. Re: What's the most ridiculous PC you've ever been subjected to? How about a D&D Bard -- based on Tom Jones?
  12. If I purchase a Damage Shield power and link it to my Force Wall, will the Damage Shield go off if someone is knocked back into the Force Wall? On a related note: Is there a limit to how many times this Damage Shield can cause damage in one segment? ----------------------------- Names you shouldn't combine: Hertz
  13. The FAQ states: Presume the following: Duplicator can make 2 duplicates, and he is gravely injured, down 24 (out of 30) body. He creates duplicate #1 (a Half-Phase action). Due to the "Reverse Averaging Rule", the original and dupe #1 are now down 12 Body each. When Duplicator uses his second Half-Phase to make another duplicate, does: A. the total damage (24 Body) gets averaged over the now 3 characters (8 Body each). Which means that dupe #1 suddenly gains 4 Body? B. the remaining damage on the original character is averaged to dupe #2. Which means that Dupe #1 stays at 12 Body damage, and the original and Dupe #2 now each have 6 Body damage? Steve
  14. Re: If you could add one more... Characteristic: Spirit (or maybe "Life Essense" or "Lifeforce"). A Tranformation Attack can affect either a target's body (All Stats & Powers), mind (Skills/Memories), or spirit (???). also, undead that in D&D "Drain Levels" can instead Drain SPI (Spirit) in Hero System This Stat might also serve (with slight modificaiton) as a Sanity stat in horror genres. Power: 4th Ed. Regeneration, with the adders from 5th Ed, and add some more adders that allow the Regeneration to restore other things lost/damaged (like drained powers, drained stats other than Body, and incorporate Healing's ability to "heal" Flashed senses). Power: An "Overall" class of mind adder. Similar to the way things can be bought for a specific sense, or the whole sense group, Classes of Minds adders should have a higher-costed version the character can buy that applies to *all* of his mental powers. Since such an "Adder" isn't part of any single Mental Power, it would likely be bought outside of any framework (i.e., "Straight Up"). This is in similar fashion as Locations for Teleportation (seperate from all the actual Teleport Powers the character has). Power: An adder for Force Wall that gives it a bit of Body so it's more like a real wall. Limitation: Ablative that involves the defensive value getting smaller instead of the current system of increasing Activation Rolls.
  15. Re: GGU Email Server Down... Again The only Staff addresses I've seen on this thread is the Liaison address. I have to sign off tonight -- I have to work early tomorrow morning. I'm subscribed to admin, chat, questions, and newguard again, but I'll also visit here again tomorrow.
  16. Re: GGU Email Server Down... Again
  17. Re: GGU Email Server Down... Again They won't get the addresses with automated stuff. They are guarded by JavaScript so that a spider(?) won't see it as an address. One of our Java-knowledgeable members provided the script for me.
  18. Re: GGU Email Server Down... Again Jack, have you re-created your own personal address yet? And when you create the Webmaster address, please modify it somewhat to throw off all the spam & virus senders. Drop me a line as to what the new address is, and I'll update the website.
  19. I have a question about a Clinging Damage Shield. Does it get the full benefit of the character's Strength, only the character's casual Strength, or does it have to be bought up from zero? Exemple: A 60 STR character buys: Clinging + Damage Shield (15 Active Points) Is the Clinging "Strength" the full 60, or 30, or zero? To me, 60 seems like a lot of effect for just 15 points.
  20. Let me try this again. the GMB (or FREd, for some), p 251 states: "A character may also Spread his attack to be able to hit more than one target. The character loses 1 Damage Class for each hex he wants to fill with his attack." It says that an attack spread this way fills the Hex, which is what an AoE attack would do. Is this equivalent to an AoE attack? I.e. would a defense bought with the Limitation "Not Vs AoE attacks" count against this attack, or not?
  21. Steve, A group I am in seems to have some confusion about Spreading. Because of the wording in the GMB (or FREd, for some), p 251: "A character may also Spread his attack to be able to hit more than one target. The character loses 1 Damage Class for each hex he wants to fill with his attack." They focus on the word, "fill", equating that to AoE: Hex. I've searched the boards and the 5ed eratta, but this seems to have not been changed. I would suggest that in 5er, the wording be clarified. For instance, if a target has a defensive power that has "Not Vs Area of Effect Attacks", would an attack spread this way be unaffected by it?
  22. Why do Vehicles and Bases have an INT score?
  23. If a power is linked to Strength (like an EB/RKA - No Range) to simulate that the character's touch does additional damage (like if he's made of electricity or fire), does any attack/maneuver that has STR damage as part of it also get the linked power's damage also?
  24. When using Tunneling with the Fill In adder, is the DEF of the "fill material" the same as it was before it was Tunneled through?
