  1. Re: Looking for a Symbol hmm... I had a Cyberpunk character named Whisper that did that. He actually had a special safety orange 'Party Jumpsuit' He was of course insane.. Ok, so this does not help at all. But the name and the suggestion brought up some fond memories..
  2. Re: Firefly HERO Website Up Ah, Ok it makes more sense that way then. I'm waffling a bit, but I'll buy it.
  3. Re: Firefly HERO Website Up hmm.. ok regarding River (since she is my fave) I would lose the Psyche Lim: Coward and replace it with Delusions, Failure to Recognize Surroundings. Or possibly a Fear of Leaving Home (Serenity). Drop the INT down to 28, and pick up Conversation as a full skill. If I had the patience (and wasn't at work) I'd try and figure out a way to turn 'morbid and creepafying' into some bonus presence for a presence attack.
  4. Re: Little help with Healing Advantages / Disadvantages This won't work too well, as written. It should be: 20 points divided by whatever limitations you have on the spell + (20 points divided by whatever limitations you have on the spell and another (-1/2) "only works on targets of same religion" + (20 points divided by whatever limitations you have on the spell and another (-2) "only works on targets you are in love with" Since love and religion are separate entitys. I'll have to stat this up when I get home, because I need to squeek out every point that I possibly can for this character, magic is expensive. The trick will be getting HeroDesigner to do it this way.
  5. Re: Firefly HERO Website Up hmmm... I don't think River is crazy enough. But she might be pregnant.
  6. Re: Little help with Healing Advantages / Disadvantages AlHazred: There are multiple type's of healing available within the campaign. However this particular player only has the one spell. Frenchman: We are playing essentially Pendragon. Valorous Knights, Damsels in Distress the whole bit.. so there are actually some advantages to being in love. As well as all the lovely things that can go wrong.
  7. Our GM stated a modifier (advantage) for our game in terms of healing. Basically all healing spells are 2d6, you get an additional 2d6 if the target is of the same religious faith, and an additional 2d6 if you happen to be in love with the target. There is also a stated disadvantage that a healing spell can only work one time on each wound. This was fine while our hardy knights were out adventuring and stopping by the local temple for healing. Now we have a healer and I have no idea how to stat this up. There is an additional campaign limitation, that spell active points cannot exceed 2x INT, in this case that would be 40 points. I can probably safely ignore that rule though, to implement these ones.
  8. Re: Reccomended Reading: Fantasy Novels Actually,.. I knew that already. I got over excited, I was at amazon.com getting the names of something, and went ahead and looked at their release date, and not checking with the man himself. edit: Ok, that made no sense. I should have said, I know about Martins site, as well as his practice regarding release dates (It'll be done when it's done) However, I failed to check his website, merely the amazon website, since I was already there.
  9. Re: Reccomended Reading: Fantasy Novels What about "Another Day, Another Dungeon" by Greg Costikyan. The Sequal "One Quest, Hold the Dragons" was only ok though. Also, the first four stories of Tiger and Del (Sword Dancer, Sword Singer, Sword Maker and Sword Breaker) by Jennifer Roberson. I did not like "Sword Born" all that much, felt like a cop-out. "Sword Sworn" was good though, nicely wrapped things up. But the first four stand on their own. Robin Hobb, "The Farseer Trilogy," "The Liveship Traders," (for high seas fun) and finally "The Tawny Man." Great fun, though I will admit I have not read "The Tawny Man" trilogy yet, I'm waiting for all three to come out in paperback, thankfully though, that should be the end of this month. I'll also speak up about George RR Martins "Song of Fire and Ice" series. That bloody rules, but the publication date for book four moved again, it looks like December 30th now, instead of the end of October.
  10. Re: Chemical Weapons ala Steve Perry's Matador series.. hmm.. I hadn't actually thought of making a Spetsdod. My particular situation calls for something a bit meatier. But, it should be fairly easy (and fun) Emile's Spetsdod I believe only fired Spasm.. so 1D6 RKA, AP, 2x Penetrating. AF/5 This should penetrate most 'soft' armor. Linked to say, 8D6 Transform (Normal to Comatose) or even. 8D6 Transform NND, Defense being hard armor. AF/5 hmm.. other options.. more for game balance, since well Spasm is pretty hefty. Removable Barrel: Make the weapon like -1 or -2 OCV, since it is fairly innaccurate. The barrel will add the +1 or +2 back into it, making it a 0, but less concealable. Maybe only allow the autofire when the barrel is off. (I should really have book when doing this.. damn posting from work) I really intended to do a little more work on this lastnight, but well both episodes of Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars were on back to back.
  11. Well fans of the series should have no trouble at all with what I'm talking about.. For the rest, Well, Our Hero has decided that he does not like killing anymore, that the universe has seen to much death. However he is still a freedom fighter so what to do? The answer several miracles of modern biochemistry. There are three drugs/chemicals that I want to reproduce, but I'm having some issues ruleswise (I'm also at work and don't have a book handy) First, Vomit. I have two trains of thought, either a largeish say 6 or 8d6 Drain to CON or a smaller 2 or 3d6 drain to CON, but continuous for say 3 to 5 minutes. The second option pretty much ensures that everyone will get affected. Second, Diarrhea, can be done the same as Vomit, but with maybe a slightly longer recovery time for the victim? Thought, use the continuous on the vomit. And the larger attack on the diarrhea? I don't want to ruin the plumbing as well.. heh. Finally, Spasm. From the novels, the victim is put in a comatose state for 6 months. I'm not entirely sure how to stat this up.. (and having a book handy would help) If I do it as a Drain, with recovery as say a week per point or something how do I represent the sudden wake up? I thought there was an option for it, but I don't remember.. ugh... So, thoughts, opinions, suggestions?
