    Depends on the payment. A million bucks for a point of strength? Not worth it.

    I disagree. I could do a LOT with a million, I don't do that much with STR (and before evenyone jumps all over me, I know I would lose a bit in other stats). Also, I'd sell COM. When you're rich, you don't need it!:D

    That would definitely be an interesting world. Why would such a place make a more interesting place to game in when it is so hare for 'normal' minds to conceive? I think the only person who could draw a map for such would be MC Escher or Sir Pendrose (if he could draw).

    Too bad that "somewhere" can't be somewhere else. Hero's art has gotten so bad' date=' IMO, that I'm to the point where I just flip through the books, shake my head at the crappy art, and put the book on my shelf never to be looked at again [i just added Champions Worldwide to that shelf as well'].

     

    There comes a point where DoJ's "doing the best we can with what we have" just isn't enough. With each book I buy I feel like I'm rereading Bill Sienkiewicz's New Mutants issues over and over [ok, it's not that bad. It's just really bad manga]. In 7 months DoJ has taken a 24 year love for Hero and turned it into complete disdain. The fans aren't running away from the system. The fans are being pushed away by the choices DoJ is making and the steps they are not taking to give us our money's worth, IMO.

    Bitter much?

    Actually, I was one of the players that "didn't get it". I think it's because I absolutely, completely didn't care. Where the campaign is doesn't matter. It is what it is. It is as real as the GM and players make it. Keith likes his maps and I think they're nice to look at but my question has always been, "What's off the page?" Steve had Keith make a map for something (Valdorian?) that said Equator at the bottom. Well, what's past that? Drove me crazy to look at. Didn't get it=didn't care to get it. It is the Savage Earth.

    When I looked at the GURPS forum today I saw something interesting. Some guy had started a thread where he posted generic NPCs from different genres. I would be fun if we could do something similar. Are you interested?

     

    For those interested, what do you think of posting the NPCs in the writer's guidelines brief format?

    I thought the title said the NGD Thread and I wondered what we were complaining (um discussing) now! Oops!

    I don't play any MMORPGs currently but I deal with leet speakers all the time on some other forums I freaquent. And you are right they generally do not use that much leet speak, unless thats the point of the thread. I generally refer to what people like Troll-boy use as Leet-lite.
