  1. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. Not yet, but there will be when I finish the d20 stats for Chapter 3.
  2. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. The HERO System version hardcopy of the book is on hold due to a number of factors.
  3. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. I'm not able to say right now, as it's still in progress.
  4. Re: Hart-Felt Productions Looking For Steampunk & Fantasy Writers Well, if the Steampunk book sells well enough, we'll be publishing supplements for it, and we'll be putting out a call for writers for those, but that won't be until 2007. As a side note, we will be contracting writers for the production of the text only, not editors or layout people.
  5. Re: Hart-Felt Productions Looking For Steampunk & Fantasy Writers HFP would like to thank everyone for their interest in these genre books. We have found the authors we need!
  6. Re: Hart-Felt Productions Looking For Steampunk & Fantasy Writers As stated in the first message of this thread, HFP is looking to expand on the existing Kandris Seal campaign setting.
  7. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. We've found an author for the Fantasy Kandris Seal book. We're still looking for an author for the Steampunk Kandris Seal manuscript.
  8. Re: Hart-Felt Productions Looking For Steampunk & Fantasy Writers We've hired an author for the Fantasy Kandris Seal book, and are still looking for the Steampunk Kandris Seal manuscript.
  9. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. Yup! All future Kandris Seal books, including the revised version of TKS, will be coming out as printed books, complete with ISBN numbers. At the very least, you'll be able to purchase them through the Hart-Felt Productions website. The books will also be released in PDF format, and there will be a hard copy and pdf combo available as well. The Kandris Seal (Revised) will be released in April 2006, with preorders being taken starting in March.
  10. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. Yes, there will be a book expanding on the Bedwyr and the Maylor. It hasn't been officially been put on the schedule yet. I'm considering the possibility of doing planetary scale maps of both worlds, and creating symbol sets unique to the two civilizations for use with Campaign Cartographer Pro. The amount of work that will entail will probably mean a 2007 release.
  11. Re: Hart-Felt Productions announces new books for the Kandris Seal Universe. The organization books will be approximately 64 pages, and the genre books at 128 pages. The outlines for the organizations books has been finalized, and information about that will be posted at the HFP website by Monday night. All the books will be published both in hard copy and pdf, and there will be a bundle price for someone who wishes to puchase both the pdf and the hardcopy. And no, I'm not writing everything myself. I'm hiring freelancers to write the genre books, and my brother (who goes by Bloodshot on these boards) will be collaborating with me on the organization books. Regardless of the situation, the organization books will be published. The schedule of the genre books, however, is more open to change, as we get the writers for those projects.
  12. Re: Hart-Felt Productions Looking For Steampunk & Fantasy Writers That's what I get for posting this when I've under the influence of cold medicine. I've fixed the post above to the correct date.
  13. It's official. Hart-Felt Productions has added seven books to our production schedule for The Kandris Seal. For more information, check out the Kandris Seal page at the newly revamped Hart-Felt Productions website.
  14. Hart-Felt Productions is expanding our line of products for our Kandris Seal campaign setting. To that end, we are looking for writers who are familiar with the HERO System and the SRD to create Steampunk and Fantasy genre books for Kandris Seal setting. Familiarity with the setting is not required, as a copy of the campaign setting will be provided to you. Each manuscript will be approximately 95,000 words, with a due date of September 30, 2006, and we are offering a royalty of 15% for this work for hire contract. You will be writing for Hart-Felt Productions, not Hero Games or DOJ, Inc. The successful candidate will be required to produce a detailed outline for approval within one month of the contracts being signed. If you are interested in any of these projects please contact me at bosslady (at) hartfeltproductions.com with a brief bio, a list of publication credits, and a writing sample. Please include the writing sample as text in the message body, or provide a link to a web page or file to be downloaded.
  15. Re: The Kandris Seal Okay. The button on the HFP website page for The Kandris Seal works. Be aware that if you go to the HFP page, and then go to buy TKS from the "Buy Here" button, you will not get the coupon price. If you want to use the coupon, you'll need to use the link above.
  16. Re: The Kandris Seal A button where, at the HFP website, or as a result of the coupon? I just checked the coupon, and it takes you directly to the shopping cart so you can purchase the pdf immediately. I also just checked out my website, and it appears the button is broken. I'm working on fixing that right now.
  17. Re: The Kandris Seal Hello everyone. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind comments about The Kandris Seal. Someone asked about the book for sale at RPGNow. Yes, it is a download. I'm slowly in the process of updating the current manuscript to correct errors, and adding some new material. When that is completed, I'll release it as a revised edition, and it will be available in hard copy. The specific details for how it will be printed haven't been determined yet, though. Someone else commented on the old pbem game. I was the one who ran it, and I was using it as a testing ground for some of the ideas for the book. If I do say so myself, Lord Liaden is correct about the versatility of TKS as a campaign sourcebook. I put a lot of effort into the creation of it to make it as versatile as possible. A science fiction campaign is easy to do, as there are two alien races detailed in the book. Looking for a medieval fantasy setting? The PC's can be involved in the earliest battles against the Keepers of the Broken Circle. Want Pulp? There's a lot of opportunities for that too. In fact, there's a short section in the book with ideas of how to use TKS in just about any genre. TKS is presented as a super-heroic setting, but there is more than enough information in there to allow for campaigns at different power levels. As Lord Liaden mentioned, the Dragon Hunters are ideal to use as a heroic level campaign. Looking for a really high powered campaign? There are full stats for all of the Keepers of the Broken Circle, so your PC's can try to go toe to toe with the Big Bad Guys. I will have to admit that I made a mistake when I released TKS. I didn't create any supporting material. That will be changing upon the release of the revised edition of TKS. If there's an interest (and I can get approval from the powers that be), I will be publishing other books for the setting. More detailed books about the organizations, adventures, and possibly genre books (i.e. a book with specific information for the TKS setting for a Pulp game). That being said, the sale I have on TKS over at RPGNow.com is ending on Friday, October 7th. Don't fret if you're not going to be able to take advantage of the sale. I've made up a special coupon that will let you buy the pdf at the sale price of $7.50 until October 31st. I'd also like to announce that anyone who purchases TKS (or purchased it in the past) through RPGNow.com and leaves a detailed set of comments (good or bad) about the book is eligible to win a number of prizes through the Consumer Rewards Program Hart-Felt Productions is participating in. You can learn more about the program by visiting the Hart-Felt Productions website.
  18. "Now, how did that go again?" For Eidetic Memory "Oh My God! It Can't Be Stopped!" For some ridiculously high level of defenses - used for a write-up based on a monster from a B movie. "Because I'm Just So Damned Scary, That's Why" for extra PRE, only for making fear/awe based Presence Attacks. There are many, many others in my notes.
  19. Everyone, no matter when they purchased their copy of the book, will be entitled to the free revised copy. Sorry it wasn't clear in my previous response.
  20. No. There were some technical problems with getting the revisions done. I hope to have them completed by the the end of next week. However, anyone who has already purchased, or wll be purchasing a copy of The Kandris Seal between now and when the new version is posted, will receive the revised edition for free.
  21. From now, until May 31, The Kandris Seal will be sale priced at $12 at the Hart-Felt Productions store at RPGNow.com For a direct link, please click here.

  23. I have placed my votes, and I will email my players about voting as well.
  24. Not sure if it's been mentioned here already, but there's a great book that has been published by Expeditious Retreat (http://www.exp.citymax.com/page/page/351667.htm) called A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe. It's designed for D20, but a lot of the info can easily be made to work with HERO System. I've got a copy of it, and it is absolutely fantastic. Has information about how magic would affect a medieval society, and includes rules on how to develop manors, towns and cities, plus a lot of info about economics -- including some price lists.
