  1. Re: Double The Hero Excitement!

Just to tag on what Archermoo said and to add a little more...

Steve and Darren had some funny stories about how one perspective Cryptic employee got a job based on his knowledge of the Hero System. Pretty funny. :)

The latest issue of Game Informer (Issue 179, March 2008) has a 6 page spread on Champions Online. This was passed out at DunDraCon. The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is this week in San Jose. G4 has coverage of the event so set your TiVos and hope for a mention of the Champions Online game. ;)

It appears from the article that it will run on PC or Xbox 360 so save up your cash if you need a PC upgrade or a new console. I know I will be saving up my cash. :D

My general thoughts...wow. What a fantastic opportunity for Hero and for us loyal fans. This is spectacular news. If this thing hits the streets (i.e. note how John intentionally does not get his hopes up having his issue of Computer Gaming World from April 1992 in his hands as well as the vaporware award from the previously announced Champions computer game) it will mean a lot of new Hero players. This means better books and maybe even more books for us loyal fans. As Steve put it in the meeting we also get to be the "belles of the ball" to introduce new players to this fantastic game.

Be a Hero!!! :D First the internet then the world!!!! :king:

  2. Re: Double The Hero Excitement!

Oh oh...I want to guess...not sure if anyone has already guessed these...

    Freeport Fantasy Hero supplement?

    Heroes (TV Show) using Hero?

Cthulhu Hero with Ken Hite? <- Ok...this one is a pipe dream.

    I also gotta comment...

    I WANT a Dr D plushie!!! :D

All excited about DunDraCon! ALRIGHT!!! :celebrate

  3. Re: List of Forum Members - Super Teams & Members

    Reliance (Pre-Apocalypse)

+ Survivor - TK with high defenses. Team leader.

+ Ice Devil - Ice character.

+ Paladin - Iron Man clone.

+ Lady Love - Teleporting martial artist.

+ Tsunami - Wind, weather, and flight.

    Reliance Reforged (Post-Apocalypse)

+ Survivor - See above. Now trying to clear his name.

+ Chan San Feng - Wushu martial artist.

+ Rian White - Shape shifting mentalist.

+ Smith - Could recall any focus he touched.

+ Windage - Invisible move through artist.

Reliance (pre-Apocalypse) got quite large but the ones in the first list are the original members. ;) If you want to read about Reliance go to the site in my sig.

  4. Re: the Superdie

Yeah' date=' pretty much for me too. Group by 10s for stun. For body subtract the number of 1s from the number of 6s, and then add the result to the number of dice you rolled. Which takes much longer to type than to do. :)[/quote']

    What he said.

Side note...my brother is amazing at totaling Hero dice. It is verging on Rainman like in speed. :king:

  5. Re: the Superdie

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Chessex will do custom dice as well and frankly I have dice from Q and Chessex and I think the Chessex dice are MUCH better. The Q dice are lighter and have a "wimpy" feel to me. Again...just my take...I do not know how the costs compare.

  6. Re: Looking for an adventure to run at a gaming convention.

If you're interested in supers' date=' I recommend [i']Infectious Enthusiasm[/i] from DH #9. It's specifically designed for a con session, with full teams of pregen heroes and villains that aren't too complicated, and a good mix of combat and problem-solving elements.

Thanks Lord Liaden. He is correct. I specifically designed it as a way to introduce folks to Champions at a con or sponsored event. When I tried to give it away Dave intercepted it and said it would make a great DH article.

  7. Re: Pulp Hero Everyman skills?

Hi CthulhuAd: I didn't know it was even remotely rare...I'll try and enter the names when I get home. I'm at work too... :(

    Forgot...

I think if you can get a copy of JI cheap...maybe under $10...it is worth getting in addition to Pulp Hero.
