  1. For point totals, I think 200 Character Points (maybe something like 150 Base Points + 50 points from Complications) would be a good starting point (no pun intended). Godlike characters are intended to be superpowered, but not to a high level. In 4th edition Champions, 200 CP would be the very upper end of the range you're looking for, but in 6th edition, 200 is a good starting level.

I was going to go 225.  175+50.  That is right in line with your take.  I may adjust down after I make up a couple of PC.  ;)

  2. Hi Heroes: I tried to post on anything related to ArcDream and ran out of luck.  They do not allow posting on their Facebook, Google+, or site in any fashion that I can find.  Their loss, Hero's win.  ;)

I'm going to be running Godlike using the Hero System.  If you have not heard of Godlike it is pretty neat.  Low-powered WWII superheroes.  I plan to run for around 6 to 8 sessions.

    Now my questions...

    1. Does someone who has experience with Godlike recommend one of the campaigns?  I have several but I am not sure which one to choose.
    2. I already have several Hero books that would be useful.  I won't name the ones I have.  What Hero books do you think would be useful for the setting?
    3. How many points would you go assuming Champions Complete is the system?

    Thanks gang!   :D

  3. I ran my introductory adventure Infectious Enthusiasm at DunDraCon last year.  It went really well.  After a LOT of thought and after looking at LOT of sheets I ened up going with the straight HD PDF output.  It is clean and easy to read.

I went over the sheets carefully with the group and highlighted concepts as I went.

I had a GM shield insert with basic Hero fomula in huge text.  I can see if I can dig that up if you want it.  Things like the to hit formula, rolling damage and counting body/stun,etc.  In HUGE font.

I have most of the handouts available if you want a copy...just let me know...

  4. Savage Worlds works GREAT for Pulp. I am currently running the Daring Tales Of Adventure scenarios from Triple Aces Games and having a GREAT time with my group. All of them are experienced Hero Gamers but I thought Savage Worlds would be lighter and faster. It has been a blast. Check it out. ;)

  5. Re: Looking for Feint Feedback

In my Fantasy Hero campaign I did Feint/Piercing Repost/"You are using the Italian Dimedici style!" like this using powers:

10 (25) +2 OCV (Only after being in combat with the attacker for at least 1 Turn (-1), Only on a strike conducted after a block (-1/2)) plus +10 Strength (Reduced To 0 End (+1/2), Only after being in combat with the attacker for at least 1 Turn (-1), Only on a strike conducted after a block (-1/2), Does not add to figured characteristics (-1/2))

This way it comes for free on the attack after a block. :)

  6. Re: What have you used?

The various monster books are by FAR the most use FH books in my collection. Hec...they might be the most used Hero books in my collection. In order the main bestiary, MMM, Dragons, then NKN. After that...the main FH rulebooks followed by the spell books. :)

  7. Re: Speak with the dead

Here is how I did it for a Valkyrie PC who could unconsciously sense how something died:

    Sense Demise: Retrocognitive

    Clairsentience (Sight Group, Normal

Hearing And Normal Smell) (50 Active

    Points); No Conscious Control (-2),

    Precognition/Retrocognition Only (-1),

Vague and Unclear (-1/2), Only Events

Where There Was A Death (-1/2)

  8. Re: [New Product] Champions Complete

You know' date=' [i']Digital Hero[/i] provided a lot of Champions adventures during its run, many of them suitable as beginning game sessions (particularly those intended for convention games). Hero Games owned all of them when they were published, and I assume Cryptic bought their rights as part of the Champions IP. I wonder how difficult it would be to update some of those to 6E and make a PDF bundle out of them?

I agree. Hec, I wrote an adventure in Digital Hero #9 called Infectious Enthusiasm that is intended to be used to introduce Hero. It includes all of the PC and villains and the artwork for them is stellar! :D

  9. Re: [New Product] Champions Complete

Of course I am 100% behind HD supporting CC but there is so little changes compared to 6E1 and 6E2 that creating a different template for it sends a very wrong message (you can choose 5th' date=' 6th or CC which sounds like a new iteration). CC [i']is[/i] 6E!

I'd rather have to choose 6E template and have a check box under Campaign Rules > Rules tab to make it 100% compliant with the few skills modified and other tidbits.

I'm not 100% sure I agree because there might be some subtle name changes and such that I would want to see in HD...eh...no biggie...as long as there is HD support that would be good.

  10. Re: [New Product] Champions Complete

I was honored to be part of the review team that Derek assembled to bounce off ideas. I really enjoyed the sections that I reviewed. Couple things I noticed about the review process and the sections we were given to review...

+ Derek impressed me with how much he valued clarity. In a couple of cases we went through a given section several times before he was happy.

+ Derek really listened to the review teams crazy ideas even if he did not agree with them. :)

+ The text is light at the right times and heavy when it needs to be. It has a great flow and distinct lack of detail overload. Hard to explain..."elegant crunch". ;)

I honestly think folks are going to LOVE Champions Complete. Can't wait to order it and play it with my gang! :D
