  1. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Where did everybody go? Is it always so quiet on Friday mornings?
  2. Re: Musings on Random Musings I was gonna say, there's plenty of room in this one. And there's something comforting about not being the only one whose mind is in the gutter. ^ v ^
  3. Re: A Thread for Random Musings When did Doppler get the title of "Most Hated?" I thought that title was taken.
  4. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Interesting. I hadn't realized that guys actually followed particular models when it came to racy pics. That kind of changes my view of pornography a bit. I'm not sure what it changes it TO, but it's a definite shift.
  5. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER ^ v ^ I only speak the truth.
  6. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Ah. Indeed. Very attractive.
  7. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Which one's Laura Richmond?
  8. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER This thread is SOOOOOO not work-safe. o v O
  9. Re: Why that costume Well, The Greek wears the very same armor she first woke up in, when she awoke in the modern world (it was preserved along with her). It ties her to home, and clearly identifies her as The Greek. Both of my characters in the Delta Defenders campaign wear street clothes, but for different reasons. Beacon does it because she's very literal and minimalist. Aya does it because she's not officially a superhero, and she doesn't want to stand out. My only other character, Weather Girl, I haven't played in about a year and a half. She wears a clingy purple body suit, a mask and rubber-lined gloves. The mask is to protect her Secret ID. The only other reasoning behind her costume is the gloves, which protect people she touches from being zapped (she lets off a constant static charge). Otherwise, I picked it 'cause it looked cool, and I was going through a purple phase. ^ v ^
  10. Re: Role play during combat Josh emphasizes that speaking during combat is a free action during a lot of his games. Also, what he often does is rolls to see what happens - how much damage is taken, which attack was used, etc, then describes what it DID. "He points his weapon at you, and it grazes your cheek." "You fire off a shot, which glows a little bit as it hits him, which seems to penetrate his armor a little better than your attacks usually do." This very much encourages us to describe not only the numbers behind our attacks, but what they LOOK like, and what the other characters see in battle.
  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings copy-paste is your friend . . . you just need the tags [ QUOTE= ] and [ /QUOTE ]. Minus spaces, of course. As for your second query, yes, I think they do. And something to do with time zones, too.
  12. Re: Musings on Random Musings And familiar, too. But having one's brain deeply embedded in the gutter sort of makes civilized conversation difficult. When I stifle a giggle, I can still hear it in my head, and it tends to drown out whatever the other person's talking about.
  13. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I keep forgetting how, um, flattering this sweater is on me. And then I look down and scare myself.
  14. Re: Musings on Random Musings Well, yeah, if I put some REAL effort into it. There was the time I got Josh all revved up, then rolled over and pretended to go to sleep. THAT was fun.
  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings 'Kay. And then I make sure to give him a goodbye kiss every day before I leave for work. Some mornings it takes a little longer than others. And I like to slip little entendres into the conversation. Sometimes I'll e-mail him around noon with something blunt and direct that's going to keep his mind on one thing for the next five+ hours. And then I make him wait until we've both climbed into bed. Of course, I take my time changing into my nightgown. And if I REALLY want to be mean, I then pick up my book and start reading. I've gotten really good at pretending to not notice the fact that he's staring at me incredulously. It's so much fun.
  16. Re: Musings on Random Musings Well, for starters, he watches me get dressed every morning. I make sure of it . . . You sure you want to hear more?
  17. Re: Musings on Random Musings And damn proud of it. Just ask Josh . . .
  18. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER 'Kay. My, what an educational day I'm having today . . .
  19. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER . . . . On what? she said cautiously.
  20. Re: A costume challenge I'll second "baggy" and add "shapeless." My just-created teenager character wears very loose jeans and a baggy sweater. Subconsciously, it's because she has an accidental transform, and her other form would burst out of said clothes. But she's also the type to not call attention to herself. Not because she's shy, but because of her several Hunteds. Jeans are likely a good option because they still fit when they're baggy. Also, jeans are very flattering, no matter the figure. And for a brick, I think the thick, heavy material is essential. If you want her to be in more of a uniform, any material that's strong and can hang loose will do. A big cape or coat in muted colors is also likely - it'll help her look bigger and less scrawny, but wouldn't make her especially stand out. Does that help?
