  1. Re: The origins of "munchkin" probably from some GM that couldnt handle or create good challenges for those sort of players. never had a problem with challenging some of my past players who created some bad-a$$ PCs.
  2. Re: Immortal Questions There is a villian who seems to be unkillable and perhaps immortal in some way due to multiple triggered powers. He is in one of the Digital HERO publications. Here is what he has that protects him: Elemental Control Hard to Kill I: Force Field (30 PD/35 ED), hardened (+1/4) Hard to Kill II: Desolidification (Not versus Electricity), Reduced Endurance (0 END, +1/2), Persistent (+1/2); Only To Protect Against Attacks That Would Take Him Below 0 BODY (-1) Ridiculously Hard to Kill: Healing, 3d6 (Regeneration; 3 BODY per Hour), Resurrection (prevented by finding the body and immersing it in acid), Reduced Endurance (0 END, +1/2), Persistent (+1/2); Extra Time + Increased Time Increment (3 BODY per Hour, -1), Self Only (-1/2), Resurrection Only (-1/2) He's Dead, But Where's the Body?: Invisibility to Hearing, Mental, Radio, Sight, Smell/Taste Groups, Reduced Endurance (0 END, +1/2), Persistent (+1/2), Trigger (when Roberto is at -1 BODY or less, +1/4); Bright Fringe (-1/4), Chameleon (-1/2)
  3. Re: Multiform Confusion OddHat makes a good point. My GM allowed characters to be standard 350 pts but at 250 + 100 disadvantages. Created a character with a Multiform, the other form at 300 instead of 350, paid 60 points for it, added absorption and aid that fed into the Multiform. The GM asked if I was doing the 5 pt to main form and 1 point to Multiform scheme, I said YES, he smiled, said the character would have a very powerful alternate form in a short time (xp + aid + absorption) and said NO. He thought it was pretty ingenious but broken.
  4. Re: Broken Builds and Being Fair... Interesting concept. Very good thinking on creating a HERO version of the D&D sorceror. Would a GM allow such a character to play it? I mean we are talking about 9 multipowers if you are heading to all 9 spell-levels...furthermore, each multipower is expandable to hold a lot more spells. It actually sounds very similar (but not same) to the Archmage in Mystic Masters: multiple MPs. Cheaper or better to get a VPP and a END reserve w/ charges. However that would destroy the D&D Sorceror concept.
  5. Re: Broken Builds and Being Fair... One MP with multiple END reserves??? Dang...this guy carries like multiple batteries in himself, one set per certain selection of powers? Better off building a MP gadget with all of the powers and throw in the +5 duplication thing. Heard of the 'END reserves with charges' idea before. My younger bro created something with that concept.
  6. Re: VPPs: Your experiences Draconia was her name. Based on the Green Lantern design of some cosmic powered item giving the bearer vast powers. In this case, guardians were entrusted with harnessing powers of their benefactor (a trapped Warp Dragon, a cosmic-level beast), and using them to protect their respective territories. Of course, the enemies of the Dragon, the ones who entrapped the benevolent beast, considered all disciples of the beast to be enemies. VPP and Multipower with a Obvious focus. Did not take the Independent focus limitation, hated to think she was nothing if the ring was confiscated. If the focus was nabbed, she could still use some of the powers but they cost a lot more END to use.
  7. Re: VPPs: Your experiences Had a player once in my group, I wasnt DMing, pretty cool guy. Outside of the RPG sessions, he had no life...spent most of his time building spells, manuevers and such for his characters. Might say he loved to crunch stuff and go for the loopholes. Every character had a VPP. A Bruce Lee-type master who disappeared from the public world, taught his bastard son all of his knowledge. Master of Martial Arts had himself a 10-20 pt VPP of techniques. Mundane doctor finds a sacred book, giving its holder/protector the knowledge of all things past. Had himself clairsentience with a book focus, but also a VPP of magic spells. Vigilante based or almost a complete copy of the Blue Moon Killer, VPP of weapons and gear. Macgyver-type, skilled in many things and more, carried a VPP for gadgets and stuff. See a pattern? Other than creating these monsters, he never abused them. Thats where I believe is the GM's call on VPPs. I attempted to create a mage once with a VPP but the GM turned me down, stating two VPP characters was too much. Further stated, he once played a VPP character and found it to be so easy to abuse it. Hence, no VPP.

    Unstoppable

Re: Unstoppable Had a character once, a brick based on Juggernaut. Had a elemental control framewoirk that bordered on "just too much" Spent most of his time in Hero ID because of his limitations. Normal stats at max of 20 in non-heroic persona. IN heroic persona: ST 106, DX 30, CN 61, BD 33, IN 10, EG 10, PR 46, CO 10 PD 30, ED 30, SPD 4, REC 52, END 122, STN 117 Elemental Control (Mystic Stone powers) IIF stone focus independent focus only in hero ID dmg resistance 33p/e life support (full) mental def 40 PD reduction (resistant) 75% ED reduction (resistant) 75% knockbk resistance 20 power def 33 flash def (sight and sound) 16 15-pt growth, 0 end, persistent, always on +9d6 HA, 1/2 END, only when moving superleap +22 str +71 dex +20 con +41 bod +20 pre +36 rec +20 OCV +10, all attks Many opponenets had some difficulty to confiscate the stone focus. Often killed people accidentally even when he pulled punches.
  9. Re: Who's the most nearly-invulnerable... I like reading these sorts of threads...honest. Posting fave characters that are like nigh-invulnerable, broken, whatever. IN all of of the readers that solicit these forums, there are always some party-pooper to state negativity: "People that build these types shouldnt play" or "Whats the use of building them, no fun in able to destroy everything." Got a 350-pt character up once for opinion and got nothing but rudeness and attitude. COSMIC was her name. Keep at it, guys and gals...its coll see your stuff.
  10. I recently watched an anime called Shadow Skill, where powerful martial artists have used the Shadow Skill to do tremendous damage against their opponents. I am a fan of Fist of the North Star but Shadow Skill is what gave me the idea of wanting to play superpowered martial artist. Anyone seen Shadow Skill and can give me input on how to build Elle Ragu or Scarface? If you can provide a copy of the entire build or character sheet, even better!!!!!!
  11. Re: How much are these limits worth? Unusual attack, no damage nor KB but adds to chances for stunning and KB. I would look at the HA as a drain attack, allowing the opponent to be more susceptible to stuns and KB w/o taking dmg from the attack. - 1/4, unless you live on Waterworld or a heavy gaseous or foggy environment.
  12. Re: Weaponsmaster Character Development Computer? Sounded like a mystical axe concept, computer link sounds a bit throwing it off. Clairsentience with a focus and uncontrolled-by-player limitations.
  13. Re: How would you do this concept? Offensive: flash (sight group), RKA, EB Defensive: invisibility, force field/wall movement: flight miscellaneous: desolidification, change environment
  14. Re: Need your assistance in a Phoenix-clone Very broken... Increase END, to me the most foremost stat, and EGO since its a psi type. Get the points from reducing the multiform, since it is still an infant as you say.
