  1. Re: Question for the gun-bunnies

Hey Gun Bunnies, I have some questions too, how would you stat out a Accuracy International custom sniper rifle like the one Jack Bauer uses on Day 4? (Yes I am on total 24 kick, gearing up for Day 5)

Or his Heckler & Koch USP Compact?

I just use the closest thing I can find in the 5th and make a little better assuming that the guns have cooler names because they are indeed cooler guns. However, the USP Compact is a little weird and I'm not sure if I should use 9mm as a base or a 357.

    according to the H & K website the USP compact is available in 3 calibers ( 9x19mm, .40 S & W and .45 ACP ).

i don't watch 24 so i don't have a clue which he uses. which gov't agency is he with ?

  2. Re: Finally, I bought the game! Only one problem...

I didn't know you need the Hero System handbook! Man' date=' please tell me you don't need it that much! Please tell me it already has the basics of everything![/quote']

i think ya'll are missing orinmoon's point (although i could be completely off base here) that to someone NEW to the Hero system It is NOT obvious that the system is set up that way.

  3. Re: Star Wars - Balancing Jedi with everyone else and heroic vs. superheroic

years ago i played in an Alternity game that was a "universes colliding" type of game. several players had characters native to the star drive setting for alternity, several had jedi and i had a cybertronic chasseur from mutant chronicles/warzone. the bad guys were usually dark jedi...

dark jedi don't do too well against a gatling gun being used by someone with a really high heavy weapons skill

at least they didn't in that setting, using those rules. an AP cap would probably prevent a gatling gun from being legal, but then most assault rifles are also "out of bounds".

  4. Re: Sci-fi swear words?

True, one of my favorites from the military is SNAFU and FUBAR - oddly enough both were businesses in the same shopping center when I was growing up...

Now go get me some batteries for the Chem Light

okay, but you gotta get me a bucket of steam :D :D

i'll see you after liberty call with those batteries, they might take all day to find :eg:

  5. Re: Needed: Quirks from TV/Movies/Comics

And considering the type of "porn" they'd be looking at (cheesecake with a side of T&A)' date=' I doubt it would be all that bad if we did. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that the really icky-bad smut in Japan is mostly read by [i']sarariman[/i] - salarymen - and are only occasionally seen by your typical teenager. Much like reading your dad's Playboy as a kid.:D

if my memory is correct, they (kids) had access to the "icky" porn in the book stores. i just have no idea if they could buy it. ask oddhat, i think i remember him mentioning that he lived in japan before (it might not have been him though, memory is failing on this.).

  6. Re: A D&D paladin in my Marvel Avengers campaign.

or she could be a dimensionally lost character that keeps asking where the orcs and goblins live......cause they're all evil and have to be killed.

and then act all surprised when the "champions of justice" that she's hanging out with get upset when she talks about how killing evil things just makes her happy.

or you could play a less stereotypical D & D paladin and not do any of the things i've mentioned.
