  1. Re: Character for Review: Gizmo

Sort of basic, but well-rounded, lots of good attacks and defenses. Uses the powered armor concept without abusing it. Also happy to see a real effort to round him out with a nice selection of skills.

Disads: Bump hunted viper to 15 pts, or select someone else. IMO hunted: viper is far too common. Since it will more than likely overlap iother players, it's worth fewer points to me.

  2. Re: Invulnerability

Depends upon what you mean by invulnerability. I've adopted the house rule from the Global Guardians universe: 100% damage resistance costs 120 points. Buy it seperately for PD ED and mental attacks.

Everything else can be covered under life support.

That means, of course, to be totally invulnerable to damage, you'd need to spend 390+ points; 360+45=405 for all DRs and full life support.

  3. Re: Musings on Random Musings

It depends upon what people expect form a marriage. If you expect love, then chances are you're S-O-L whether it's arranged or not. If you're looking for a good working partnership, then you might as well leave it to people older and possibly wiser than you.

And as for Indians, I think Apu and Minjula re the perfect couple in every way.

  4. Re: Help build power?

I agree that if it doesn't directly affect the combatants (or anyone near them) it's just SFX. If you want to actually stat it out on the character sheet the most rules-orthodox method would be as some type of Side Effect.

Another, arguably simpler approach is to make this a Disadvantage for the character. The great online Master Lists of Limitations lists this as a Physical Limitation, "Powers Damage Characters Surroundings." You can check that out here.

    Thank you for this link!

  5. In some anime fight scenes, you can see the background scenery flying up in the air slowly in large chunks. The bigger the fight, the larger the chunks. Some sort of psychic resonance or something I imagine.

The why is unimportant. How would you build it?

My first thought was a CE with a large amount of TK... but that gets prohibitively expensive. My second thought was to make it a Side Effect based upon the active points of the powers being used- the greater the active points utilized, the more psychic enery, the greater the damage to the environment (how the environment is damaged- chunks flying up in the air- is irrelevant for this build). Since it rarely if ever helps or hinders the combatants in these epic duels, it seems incorrect to me to either spend points on it or get a point break from it. Any idea?
