    Yeah. Not so happy anymore.

Just found out the CSR here complained/cried to the owner of the company last week about not being able to get everything done every week. So, by order of the owner, she is to turn over the issuing of RMA's (returned-material-something or other) to our department...which means me.

Yeah. Like I'll get it done in a more timely manner than her? I have to invoice for 2 companies every day, enter payables for 2 companies, pull invoices to match with check stubs, and file those invoices and check-stubs. I have no time to f-in learn and issue RMA's.

I'm telling ya, if she'd learn to manage her time better (which means spend less time complaining she's got too much to do and kissing a@@ at the same time), she could get her job done and not be so stressed.

No idea when this will be handed over to me, but, I'm not happy about it.

Yeah, we lived on beef stew for a couple of weeks.

It's hard to overstate just how time consuming a child can be. The first couple of weeks, we had a helluva time finding time to feed ourselves or even go to the bathroom. The sleep deprivation was so bad that at one point my wife mistook a stuffed animal for the baby (in the dark).

I'm hoping Seanaci gets one of the easy ones, that sleep through the night from day 1.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. Then again, my mom had 3 of us kids, plus she did in-home daycare for 20+ years...so I'm sure she's got all kinds of secrets that will help as far as getting baby to sleep through the night. :D

    *snip*

In an employer's market, you don't make your own hours; you just thank your boss for hiring you and do your best to not get replaced.

This same person is addicted to Starbuck's and Bath & Body Works, and lives with her mother. She wants to get a part-time job so she can move out. I think I keep her on my flist to watch the train wreck unfold.

I feel a little guilty about that.

No kidding. DocO will most likely be working Friday through Monday (10 hour shifts) and have Tuesday through Thursday off. It'll be hard, but I know we'll make it work.

As for keeping her on your flist...I'd do the same thing too if I were in the situation. :D

    Nope. Only 42 now. ;)

Fingers crossed, yet chickens haven't been counted yet.

DocO had his 3rd interview at OTS today...with the head hancho no less. Long story short, it looks pretty damn good that he's got the job. They'll be calling him in a couple days to discuss going down and getting paperwork filled out.

It's nice knowing I've only got 2 days of work left before I leave on vacation to GenCon. It's also nice knowing I'll have around $150 cash to take with me (the rest of what I spend is on the credit card, I know...not the greatest idea...but...I've got bills to pay next week while I'm gone. :(). All is good. And my inbox will soon be empty. And by the time I leave work on Monday at 4:30, it should be nice and clean and empty. :DUntil I return on the 15th, of course.

    Really? Never moving there, then.

My second car was a Saturn, and they traded it for higher than it was worth AND gave me 0% financing on the one I have now.

Plus, I bought a manual as that second car, but had only driven automatic at that point in my life. They sent someone from the dealership to teach me how to drive my car, after my mother's lessons proved useless and frustrating. I drove it to work that afternoon.

    Yay! Niceness.

And uber cool that they sent someone to teach you how to drive it. That had to have felt like a sweet little bonus. :P My dad taught me how to drive my manual Honda Civic. In about 2 hours, I had it down. Drove home from the parking lot we went to, but killed it pulling into the driveway. :P Oh well, ya live and learn. :D

I'm paying more at the dealer or the gas station up the street from me' date=' from now on. They may be more expensive, but in the long run, they're a bargain.[/quote']

Trust me. I hear ya there.

I took my car to an Econo Lube and Tune 9 months ago. Why? Hmmml...let's see. I got my car in there right when they opened. I was the first person there as a matter of fact. However, I was there for an hour. I don't remember why it took them that long, but the manager did take like 10% off my bill (whoopy-do, saved me tax I think). Anywho. Everything was great, or so I thought. Until the following Wednesday morning (I took it in on a Saturday) when I was a block from work and smoke started spilling out from under the hood of my car. Thank goodness I was that close to work. I pulled in, shut off my car, grabbed all my stuff and popped the hood. As I started to walk in (to throw my stuff on my desk and get the handperson to come look at my car), I looked to see what was wrong. Green liquid was pouring out. Anti-freeze. Lovely. Overheated, right? Well...sort of. I hadn't overheated if the doofus' at Econo had put the cap back on my radiator after they had put more fluid in. So, I couldn't drive my car home with no anti-freeze. Called my dad told him what happend, he was pissed. He called my mom, who in turn was pissed and she called Econo. Told the manager they were reimbursing us for the anti-freeze I had to buy because of their huge mistake. So at lunch, my co-worker drove me to the near-by autozone to buy a bottle of anti-freeze. When I got home, I found out that my dad was going to take my car back to Econo so they could flush and re-fill my anti-freeze and to get the refund for the bottle I bought. Dad took it back, was there for like an hour, everything was done, life was good. However, we had put a new engine in my car and my dad told the mechanic who put it in what had happend. So, they asked me to bring the car up after work one day. I did. Turns out the doofus at Econo had overfilled my oil by like a quart so the mechanic drained and filled it to the proper level at no charge. By the way, nothing was screwed up on my new engine.

Anywho. I have not taken my car back to Econo. I've taken it to the family mechanic. Sure, it's more expensive. But I have a good relationship and knowledge that the mechanic does great work, and it's worth it.

Bleh. This is going to be the week from hell for me. I leave for my wonderful week-long vacation. However, today is the last day of the month...which means billing is going to take a huge chunk of my time today and tomorrow for both companies. In the mean-time, I have a bunch of check stubs that need to be matched with invoices.

Now, I could always give the customer check stubs to the receptionist to match up...which, actually might be a good idea. Perhaps I'll give her half of them. And work on the other half myself. We'll see.

Anywho. I'm not looking forward to how busy I'm going to be this week trying to clean off my desk before I leave on vacation for a week. So many things I need to look into and get cleaned up. >_<

Work sucks. Especially when you decide to take a full week off. :P

  9. Re: A Thread for Random Musings

    Life. It bites.

And Bush...wow...what can I say. Heard on the news tonight that he was "aware" of American Idol. I'm adding to this now by saying he didn't know exactly what it was? Interesting. I suppose our good old prez is just to far in the pits of war to take a look around and be knowledgeable about what is going on in his own country.

Sure...American Idol is just some contest where people compete for a recording deal. But, it's HUGE!! I don't watch it. However, I could still tell ya who was voted off the show last night.

Bleh. that is all on my musings.

A friend of mine (who is part Irish) always liked to tell this one:

"An Irishman walks out of a pub.

    Hey, it could happen." :D

    Lol. Cute. I like it.

And I got nothing. Sorry. :P
