The Arc got a reaction from death tribble in Create a Villain Theme Team!
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!
The morgue was always kept cool. The need to stave off decay being the main reason. However, the chill in the air never bothered Doctor Eliott Cross in the least. Some might say that his soul was colder than the poor corpses who came to this midpoint in the process of death to funeral. Doctor Cross had his secrets, secrets he'd never share with the patients that came under his careful knife. His other patients, those that he worked on for his friends, well, that was a subject for another day.
With practiced hands Doctor Cross leaned in closer to the scalding hot water spewing from the stainless steel sink, while whistling a tuneless tune from some nameless song that even Doctor Cross couldn't remember. Hand washing done, Doctor Cross pulled on one then the other neoprine gloves and turned toward the locker. His latest patient had arrived. Unlike his usual preferences, this one was definately dead. Grasping the cold handle the overhead lights gleamed like a knife off of his glasses. An easy pull and the door opened and the cradle with its' decaying contents slide out soundlessly. With a strength belying his slight frame, Doctor Cross transfered the corpse to the examination table.
Doctor Cross smiled a little under his mask and he bent closer to begin his exploration. With a bloody hand Doctor Cross reached overhead turning on the recorder. After stating his name, Doctor Cross proceeded.
"Subject name was Eugene Bass, date of birth July 4, 1985. Mister Bass was known to the public as Caged Rage. From the external examination, I've noted that Mr. Bass was a devotee of tattooing as I count a number exceeding at least twenty, most of them being of the errotic nature."
The sound of a surgical saw cut in as Doctor Cross proceeded to remove the coronal part of Caged Rage's skull. The smell of blood and other fluids grew strong in the silent morgue as the saw died down.
There was a plopping sound as Doctor Cross placed Caged Rage's brain into a pan for weighing.
"Scarring on several areas point to multiple contusions. However, I don't believe these to be the cause of death as the scarring appears to be old. Possibly Mr. Bass had suffered some type of brain damage, the extent of which I'm not willing to comment on. However, based upon news reports on Mr. Cross this may indicate why the man became a super-villain."
"I shall now proceed with the thoracic examination."
Doctor Cross the picked up a razor sharp scapel and starting at the point connecting the lower jaw made an incision running all the way down to the pelvic area.
"Odd," Doctor Cross said bending in to get a closer look at the trachea. Something appeared lodged in the organ.
Selecting another scapel Doctor Cross cut into trachea, and the small object easily came out. An insect it appeared to be, probably a beetle, possibly Phyllophaga . Inflammation around the area where the beetle had lodged.
"Guess that explains it," Doctor Cross said stepping back holding the June Bug in his palm. "Caged Rage died from swallowing a bug."

Golden Girl v3
Yes this is the 3rd version of Golden Girl. I was never satisfied with the other two and now I've come up with one I like better.

The Arc reacted to Storn in Storn's Art & Characters thread.
So, my mother in law died last week, early Monday morning, to be specific. Sad, but expected. She was 80. Much beloved. I was in Puerto Rico for the funeral and just got back in last night, late. But right before she died, I had done some artwork for commissions, the two superhero pieces.
Happy accident time! I totally had a dyslexic moment and the Honey Badger commission called for a male. But in my brain, I thought I had read female and I drew Honey Badger as a woman villain. (It was the term "Honey" that threw me, so sexist of me). The patron really liked it and didn't take me up on my offer to redraw her as a man after I found out my mistake.
I also really like the Cloud concept. He is a shapechanging, digital entity who resides in the Cloud. That is a scary concept, guess you have to lure him out to like rural-off-the-grid New Mexico or Canada in order to truly defeat him. Good luck with that y'all.
And I fooled around on a painted piece after watching Steve Prescott's painting video with heavy body acrylics. After pestering Steve and asking a few questions about heavy body acrylics, which I had never used, I went and got a couple of tubes (burnt sienna, white, black). I had doodled that drawing in my toned color sketch book and despite it being fairly thin paper, I went to town with the acrylics.
The underpainting is the heavy body acrylic, but the color work was done with some guoache I had lying around. Bottom line; I really like the Liquitex heavy body acrylics, they stay wet a nice long time. Easier to blend and mix. So thanks Steve!

Al-Amirat Al-Aswad
Thinking about adding Al-Amirat Al-Aswad to the Academy. Not sure what her powers would be...
