  1. My first entry into the Hero Universe was the 4th edition Big Blue Book....

    • I would like to see “The History of the Hero System Universe” Product Line with potential pictures of products from the beginning to now with brief descriptions.
    • I would love to see a Star Hero Complete to have a shorter ruleset for creating sci-fi universes and get new players into the game to play in their favorite tv show, movie, and other universes with a quick investment.
    • I would love to see the Hero System ported to the Prime Directive/Starfleet Universe of ADB, similar to the other games systems of GURPS, d20, and soon to be Traveller.
    • Fully agree an updated Vehicle book is needed with starship combat system.

  2. HI. Just not sure I understand. I did specify shipping options. In fact, there is nothing to specify that comes up.

I've tried a couple of times, so I'm not sure what I'm missing....

UPDATE: I see what you are talking about, now.. Example: this has shipping, but the one I'm trying to purchase doesn't

  3. Just tried to place an order from Indiana and I get the message "cannot ship to your address" as well. Tried from multiple browser types too.

I verified address correct as well. There is no option to chose any other shipping. I notice in shipping details for the item that there is no size listed, if that helps.

    Displayed address is correct.

  4. Re: [New Product] Champions Complete

I have to say I am definetly in for this book. One of my first experiences with RPG's was the Champions BBB. Wouldn't it be cool if the cover for this one was based off of that 4th ed Champions book..

Also, I think this is a great way to get the basic rules back in print (6EV1) without having to reprint those books.

  5. Steve,

I am buying Hero Sidekick for a friend who want to learn how to play the Hero System 5th ed Revised ruleset.

Although I am getting him the SK product (of which he knows about), he wanted to know if there was anything in that product regarding rules that is different from 5thed revised...meaning, do the rules in SK match up with the 5th Rev Hero Rulebook or are there differences in how things are done (I know the SK book is a "lite" version of 5th edition rules, but wasn't sure if it was based on 5th or 5th revised).

  6. Re: Hero Prime Directive

Maybe a little. For one, I didn't see my previous post when I was searching for it. I'll admit, I was in a hurry and probably should have taken longer to hunt for it. Second, the release of another d6 product (D6 Powers) with huge success along with several Trek posting in this forum just generated some excitement in my heart....which acted before brain could kick in.:) Didn't mean to cause any confusion with my previous postings.

  7. With all this attention to Star Trek, hopefully, a Prime Directive for the Hero system will be coming this year. Prime Directive is the "Starfleet Universe" based on Star Fleet Battles that ADB has put into gaming production with Gurps, D20, and upcoming D6 version.

  8. Re: Religion Hero??

or perhaps a campaign book designed for a particular system....., or is that what you mean..

I still think that religion is more likely to succeed as an individual campaign or scenario design theme rather than a complete game or sub genre. Religion could reasonably be the center focus of Champions' date=' Dark Champions, fantasy Hero, Pulp Hero or Star hero with equal appropriateness. The GM design determines all.[/quote']
  9. Re: Religion Hero??

I working on some ideas that would not involve "magic" stuff that might put off Christians or link it to other games that have been down cast in the past. But you are right, it is only going to market to some..but that's the way it is with every game. Some games are tailored to specific audiences. The trick is to combine elements that "might" attract people outside that target audience. Everyone will not be happy with it, not everyone will hate it.

Again this is all in the "early" stages of development...even brainstorming area. Input on this thread has definitely been helpful.

  10. Re: Religion Hero??

Hmm, I don't remember Testament, but will look into it. Thanks for the info.

Well' date=' I have a lot of respect for [i']Testament[/i] by Scott Bennie. IMHO it's well researched, historically and culturally accurate, and respectful of matters of real-world faith within a gaming context. If you're not familiar with it you can read about it on this webpage from the site of the publisher, Green Ronin Publishing:

Scott Bennie also happens to be one of Hero Games's top freelance writers, and recently shared his own rather detailed thoughts on translating the D20 Testament into HERO terms with us here on the discussion boards:

  11. IT seems like I have seen several RPG's over the past 2 years that were Role Playing with a religious theme. I am not sure that they were done very successfully as they flopped. I do, however, think there is a market for GOOD biblical RPG games...not necessarily placed in biblical times. Any thoughts??
