  1. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Onto some more artwork. Here is Scattershot, the winner of Death Tribble's latest Storn Art Contest! And here is a fantasy gnome illusionist.. 2. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. What I gleaned from the write up is that she is a speedster with vibration powers... kinda cool/scary concept.
  3. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
  4. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Dog tags woulda been good. Here is Fantoma. Another pic for Death Tribble... as he explained it to me, a mix between a French Fu Manchu and Moriarty. Kinda a neat concept to bring up to date. These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/
  5. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Thanks DT, means quite a bit, since I actually kept touching up and repainting the AK and the uniform behind it as they were of such similar value (albeit different chroma) that it was a bit tough to differentiate. I think it came out nicely in the end though.
  6. Re: Daily Art Findings Here is a real quickie sketch of a new PC of mind, Camden Waverunner. He is in a game run by the game system Reign (ORE). He is the product of a random chargen which was a lot of fun. If y'all are curious about our first session and discussion thereafter (and a map!), the actual play account is here: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=339287 And here is the dashing First Mate of the pleasure galleon, The Pearl: These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/

  8. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Here is another offering from Death Tribble. His USMCorpse. This one was a lot of fun to do. Something about doing research and the difference in Viet Nam era uniforms to the current ones was sorta surprising... like I just kinda forgot what it looked like. 9. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Oh. the long vestment is something I keyed on with my PC, Vector, who was becoming an "elder" statesman in the game after playing him for 12 years or so... and I wanted something elegant, but he was always such a physical concept as a telekinetic in my mind, that a cape just didn't ever work in any of the sketches I did... and this is very, very much influenced by the Mimbari robes of Babylon 5. see below. and Locke followed, so we have a group cohesion with Locke, Thermal and Vector..

  11. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Here are two player characters from games I actually I am in. Thermal is the president of Sanctuary, the only paranormal nation on the planet. He is also 1/3rd of the Vanguard, the premier superteam on the planet, along with Locke and my PC, Vector. Skinwalker is relatively new, and is a member of the NYC Mavericks. If curious about either, write-ups of adventures, some characters are up at: http://rdu.wikispaces.com/ These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/

  15. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Not quite sure of the character concept's name, but for a supers game that has a 'older sister' to a Namorita like character... this is the older sister, I called the file Nereid. 19. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I know you joke, but this makes sense to me. Obsidian or whoever the gray guy is, didn't have that kind of upbringing. How can their values (an Alien Prince and a Gladiator) work without some backstory, within the Champions. The usual handwaving of comics just gets to me in this one area. Anyway, back to some art. Here is a nordic elf. These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/
  20. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Here is Arcsilver, a good friend of mine's character, from back in the day in our Red Dragon Universe campaign. My gm Neil, popped for this commission, as the ghost of Arcsilver gently waves in the background of our current PBeM game, the Mavericks. RDU stuff and Arcsilver's history can be found here: http://rdu.wikispaces.com/Arcsilver These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/

  22. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I think that the archtypes are fairly well represented. I have never cared for obsidian in 4th or the new guy brick in 5th ver. of Champions. I think "alien" is just kinda weak cop-out when being an alien should be reflected much, much stronger in the disads and much more care should be taken on WHY such an outsider would want to join in with a pre-eminent, human, super team to serve and protect. But I really don't have a problem with the others. I like Nightwing, actually, although the "scar" disad does seem to be a bit ludicrous. I like J/Lo as a superheroine, especially drawing her with a trenchcoat as I did in one interior some time back... made her a bit more interesting visually to me. ...and back to the art.... Here is a sorta Osprey handling of a 'unit' portrait. Mercs called the Black Daggers. 23. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Can you point that out? I have no idea if that was really meant to be StormWatch or if it was a character concept that I did. I'm just blanking.... As for the Champions Team, I've been out of the loop for some time... not sure who is around to put in there. I did not do any artwork for Champions Worldwide... or really have kept up with the events in the recent books. I do know that I would insist on Kinetix... as someone who lived near Detroit for quite some time, having such a white team in such a ethnic city as Detroit (blowing it up only means so much) is just... icky. And I like drawing speedsters!
  24. Re: Daily Art Findings I doodled this in the same style as the Beddia backdrop above, a map for a friend for a Burning Wheel "Orc" campaign that he is doing via Skype with a couple of folks... I'm not in it... just hearing about it. Keep in mind, this is a quickie map, my penmanship could certainly be better...
