  1. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

Death Tribble - No worries about not having a site to show off. Thank you from all of us for the serious business you send Storn's way. You rock.

Keith - I'm having trouble with Picasa. I get to your page, then when I hit the Storn link, nothing shows up. Both of the other links work. When I try to link "the Flame" from your post above, I get nothing. Do I need to sign up for picasa or what (skill: picasa 3 or less)

  2. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.

OK after spending the better part of a weekend making up my version of a "Stornverse" file, I want to know if Death Tribble has a website with all the Stornpics that have been removed posted so I can steal...er borrow them.

  4. Re: dark champions costumed adventurers

I used Dark Angel back when fourth edition came out as a NPC. Hudson City was patrolled by Crusader, and as he got older, he trained the new heroes (the PCs). Dark Angel was used to help keep the heroes focused on being role models and not killers. After the fall of Crusader, she patrolled Irishtown and occasionally helped with big campaigns.

  5. Re: Down the street from Rosie's

I went to look for my copy and found more that I remember having. It seems that the magazine "Different Worlds" in their May/June & July/August 1985 issues had a Champions style map in the middle. Map 1 is "The Waterfront" and includes 2 Warehouses, a Restaurant, Apartments, an Open-Air Market, Docks, and Water. Map 2 is the "Business District" and includes Renovated Castle with Heliport, Office Building, Shops, Subway Entrance, and Pedestrian Bridge to castle's heliport. "Geomorphic, each Super Map will connect to another Super Map on at least two sides." Art by Michael Gray.

Don't know if there were more that these two, but I forgot I had them in my old Champions Box.

  6. Re: Widows & Orphans (PDF Download)

Not so much settings, but if I remember right, descriptions and stats for both groups with some background on history, setting and hideouts/vehicles. Also a little bit about Fell's Point with a hint of a suppliment that never came around (although Fell's Point was mentioned in Hudson City fifth edition)

didn't mean to confuse with my prior post.

  7. Re: Widows & Orphans (PDF Download)

Widows & Orphans is a Dark Champions suppliment. The book is a split between two groups. Both are based in Fell's Point, a darker section of town than Hudson City. The first group is ladies of the night out to show their superiority. The second (and my favorite) is a group of support thugs for a mastermind (in this case The Idiot King) with a group focus of being clowns. The girl group is more based for Dark Dark Champions as its focus is dark fantasies.

I used the clowns with Punchinello in my world, and never tried to use the women due to the subject matter, but now with the more gritty Hudson City setting, I might be able to use them and not be afraid of the consequenses.

Worth the money spent, only a little readjusting to fifth edition needed.

  8. Re: What Other Dark Champions Resources Would You Recommend?

Finally got a chance to look back on my groups adventure logs from way back in the day. Here is a list of the adventures I used. Mixed in were home made games using ideas in the enemies books (Murderer's Row, Underworld Enemies).

    From Third Edition Rules -

Tanghal Tower ( With a map to the mob's records from the 30's as the hidden thing in the cornerstone of the tower)

    &

Christopher Park ( A mob accountant wants to defect, and the mob hates to say good by)

From the Big Blue Book ( Fourth Edition) -

Mob Rule ( using El Capatez & El Negro Obscuro)

From 4th Edition Dark Champions -

    Harcorp Towers

    Shadows of the City -

Revolution ( toned down the supers and made it play alot of the subplots in the background)

    &

The Pack (toned down the villians and played it out over other small adventures

Hudson City Blues ( Man what alot of paperwork and background to build up to this arc, but well worth it for the spin offs it let me run later)

    From Adventurer's Club 25 -

    Slippery as an Eel

    Challenges for Champions -

    Soft Targets

    Bloody Revenge

    Red Herring

    Mexican Standoff

    Fire & Ice

Blood Fury (by Atlas Games)(No Mechanon, made it Contagion synthisizing the rage virus, the Pretender acting as the Brother, and the heroes having to brave a town of enraged citizens accompanied by state troopers to find the real brother, then back to Hudson City to stop the contamination of the water supply with rage virus and save the sister)

Heroic Adventures Volume 2 (By Gold Rush Games) (used all 6 adventures included - see above post for Games People Play with Punchinello - Used The Thing in Radley Manor with teen sidekicks, it was a blast)

Hope this helps out to create some fun for you and your players.

  9. Re: What Other Dark Champions Resources Would You Recommend?

Loved that one. Used the Punchinello/Playtime scenario for a Dark Champions Teen sidekick adventure. Punchinello had an a all girl group of hench metas called his Toys. Mostly hero owned characters like Frizbe, Sparkler, Marbles, Skate Kate along with a few homemade (Hopscotch, Jumping Jaque) and a few borrowed from other companies. I uploaded some Heromachine pictures on this forum awhile back.

Also try to find fourth edition "Challenges for Champions". Ten scenarios with almost twenty NPCs. A few work well with four color or dark champs esp Mexican Standoff, Fire and Ice and Bloody Revenge.

  10. Re: Are these old sourcebooks worth buying?

I always wondered what happened to him after his art disappeared during the Hero reorganization. I still consider him "The HERO Artist" and loved his cameo on the cover of "The Great Supervillan Contest"

Sorely missed when I look at some of the art in the books nowadays

  11. Re: My version of some written characters

Last of the Toys is Jumping Jacq. Originally from Quebec, her power armor uses high tension springs to launch her into her targets. When she hits it is devistating, as most Dark Champs are not protected from an armored move through. Also shielded unarmored teammates from bullets.

  12. Re: My version of some written characters

Skate Kate's friend from C.L.O.W.N. Marbles. Of all the Toys, she got along with Punchinello the best as she was played as bossy and selfish. I downplayed the magic aspect of her powers and made most of the marbles normal, with just a few specials as described in the C.L.O.W.N. book.
