  1. Lotsa BS in that story.

    "Oh we were upgrading hardware."

"Whatever. If you are that incompetent, you're fired and blacklisted from working any IT or government position ever again. That includes bus driver, crosswalk guard or school cafeteria position. Oh and if you are not that incompetent, you need to stand trial for election tampering. Enjoy your time with "Bubba."

    Prosecute, prosecute, Prosecute....

  2. Mock it. The vast majority of Americans (60% polled) aren't even remotely fooled by his act. And frankly most of his 36% 'approval' base likely isn't as well.

Obama might have had the charisma needed to delay an election for some reason or another. Trump does not - not even in the face of a hypothetical man made or natural disaster.

One thing I do find amusing - Trump's stated that his own approval ratings are a meaningless metric but he's very quick to point out the approval ratings of everyone else - from the Apprentice under Arnold to Senator Flake.

That might be a textbook example of irony. And / or hypocrisy

  3. One of the frequent questions is "what would be appropriate firearms for characters with Growth?"     If someone wants to arm giants in the muzzle loading weapon period, here is an example :eg:

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/06/08/iv8888-do-not-get-shot-with-1-pound-slug-from-a-cannon/

This is a gelatin penetration test on a muzzle loading cannon.  It is a 37mm, firing a 1.2 lb minie ball style round.   Muzzle energy is somewhere in the range of 45000 ftlbs !   I would think it might be appropriate as a musket for someone with two levels of growth,  at least potentially.  The barrel length on this one would be abnormally short for someone that size, a longer barrel would increase velocity somewhat.   SO maybe a dragoons carbine?

Hmm, what would be the appropriate damage for this?

Certainly explains why cannons were often "one shot, MANY kills!"

  4. Calm down, guys. The actual noise made by suppressed weapons varies greatly, from "action cycling" to "you might not have to wear ear protection" depending on the cartridge, the suppressor, and projectile velocity. It doesn't help that they are routinely portrayed incorrectly in media; my favorite was the TV show I saw with the suppressed revolver.

The only revolver I can think of that could be successfully suppressed would be the Nagant. I've often wondered how it would work scaled up to accept a serious cartridge.

Thinking more it could also be set up in a revolver to use a Tele-shot style captive piston cartridge. Under current law each round of that would pay a $200 tax stamp however

  5. why would electric cars be a privacy issue? The real privacy issue is cameras everywhere and corporations demanding access to employees social media or else.

As to charging I think that could be handled by battery stations that would swap out batteries. Out comes the old battery which goes on an analyzer/charger and in goes an analyzed charged battery. You pay and go.

Well I guess that would create some jobs for the lower end workers. Unless it was automated and then it would eliminate even those. How many years do you expect to an affordable electric car will allow a trip of an excess of 280 miles? That's from my nearest city to Seattle from my house it would actually be a about 325 I don't see it being helpful for a lot of us for a long time. My round trip commute is 50 miles or better.
  6. Now i'm not an American but I think that you may be being optimistic suggesting a Republican bloodbath. With so many states having Republican governors i'm sure they will find a way to ensure that many Democrat supporters don't get to vote or don't have their vote counted or something. Then there is the question of what effect Steve Bannon will have on things, could the U S congress become MORE right wing because of his efforts ? Then you have Fox media; is it still as pro Republican as it was ? If so, what chance have the Democrats got ?

I foresee some serious rage out there when people start getting kicked off their insurance or forced into insurance that doesn't actually cover anything because that's all they can afford.

  7. Okay if that's how the folks of the country prefer it called, then that's how I'll call it.

Just like I prefer America to "Murica" or "Bloody Yanks"

    Thanks.

Perhaps it's funny perhaps it's not but I think the only place I've ever seen or heard the "'Murica" is in mocking internet memes and commentary. I live in an area that mostly supported Trump and I don't think I've ever heard that

  8. Yes. Although that someone might be a glowing radioactive cockroach.

It shouldn't be that hard. How are they going to adjust the platform? Will they counter voter suppression in Wisconsin? What are they going to do about foreign social media operations? How are they going to convince disaffected GOP voters to vote for them?

I really feel like the currently strategy is to sit back and hope for an impeachment, and hope is not a strategy.

I suspect that the Republicans are going to face a bloodbath at the midterm elections. However the Republicans have been pulling things off partially because the Democrats seem to have lost something. Contact with the people maybe? Their leadership seems to be just as much Millionaires and up as the Republicans from outside glances, so maybe that's part of it... I don't know, but their assumption that they're going to win and saying "how could you even think of voting for him instead of me? Has not been working."

  9. I swear it's getting to where satire cannot outdo reality in America.

Months ago this was satire: http://www.clickhole.com/article/beautiful-when-7-year-old-boy-could-no-longer-affo-6296

    Today this is reality: https://www.thedailybeast.com/dear-baby-connor-your-coverage-is-denied

No matter how horrible satire is today in america, reality quickly surpasses it.

I wonder if the insurance companies have any idea how many people have come to truly hate them? I'm almost surprised that mobs have not yet started burning headquarters buildings. I'm there are a lot of people out there who aren't real stable

  10. Wrong.  I give you the M&P 15-22 Integral ... by Innovative Arms: https://www.innovativearms.com/portfolio/iasw-integral/

The loudest sound this rifle makes is the sound of the action cycling (which is what you're hearing in this video).  For comparison, each cycle of the action makes about the same amount of noise a compound bow makes when releasing an arrow -- making it as silent as a bow and/or crossbow ... and probably a LOT quieter than that WWII commando crossbow when you consider the noise and time of re-cocking it (since the full cycle of the M&P 15-22 entails re-charging the weapon).

Yes, it is that quiet ... with standard or even high velocity ammunition, no less -- due to the barrel porting that's covered by the suppressor.  (At the range I've been asked if mine was a pellet gun!)

I would like to playwith a suppressed lever action .45 colt, lever or pump action .22 would be superb.  I found a mold for a lead 245 gr bullet for the .300 blackout...

  11. I think I posted this a couple years ago,   a .338 Lapua (Norma might be a better match) medium machine gun, weight is comparable to standard (Nato*) 7.62x51mm mgs, range is closer to a .50 caliber.

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/10/09/338-firepower-hands-gdlss-lightweight-medium-machine-gun-ausa-2017/

Perfect weapon for a Dark Champions character...

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/10/09/7-62mm-lightweight-machine-gun-unveiled-knights-armament-company/

also early development of a 7.62 MG that is estimated to weigh about 12-13 lbs.  Even if beefed up to 14 for greater durability, still an improvement.  If they combined this with the stainless/aluminum hybrid cases that allow carriage of 5 rds loaded instead of 4, and the new M80A1 load's lighter bullet, might be able to drop a bit of weight for the troops, while still allowing 7.62 power and range.

I think in the long term the CTA program's 6.5mm might be a better choice, but staying with 7.62 has its own advantages.

*The reason I note NATO mgs, is because some russian ones are lighter.  I have only fired a few rounds through an M60, and have no experience with ANY of its competitors.

  12. FCC now posits that a single ISP in an area counts as 'Competition' and seeks to remove price caps.

I swear I am sick to death of the jackanapes who want to take us all the way back to the "gilded age"    If anyone knows a reliable necromancer, we could really use Teddy Roosevelt...     Trustbuster!
