  1. Re: How do I build?

ohh almost missed it. If it is a Hand Killing Attack the extra dice from you str wouldn't get the AP only the base. Reason being you only buy the naked advantage on UP TO 2d6 and your str would boost that BEYOND 30active points. Just relized after I posted.

  2. Re: How do I build?

Start with the basic attack: 2d6 HKA, 30 Active points, OAF (-1) sword, 15 real cost

Then do the adder: Armor Peircing on 2d6 HKA, 15 Active points, OAF (-1) sword, only vs. demons and evil mystics (-1), 5 real cost

Then, I think it's ok to link the naked advantage to the main power, so Armor Peircing on 2d6 HKA, 15 Active points, OAF (-1) sword, only vs. demons and evil mystics (-1), linked to 2d6 HKA (-1/2), 4 real cost.

That sounds right but it wouldn't be 15 active points it would be 45 since a Killing attack of 2d6 would have 30 active to start and a plus one quarter advantage would boost it up t o 45. and the limitation on the naked advantage would be: -1 OAF(sword), -1/2 to -1(depending how common), -1/4 linked. Costing 16 to 14 pts depending on how common they are.

  3. Re: Gimme 5 Names!

Don't ask for much, do you? :D Ok, I'll tackle the easy ones first...

Give me five Iron Age-sounding names for heroes.

    = Blood Claw

    = Death Ripper

    = Blood Ripper

    = Death Claw

    = Blood Ripper Death Claw

Give me five Iron Age-sounding names for villains.

    = Blood Claw

    = Death Ripper

    = Blood Ripper

    = Death Claw

    = Blood Ripper Death Claw

For some reason the people in your universe Don't seem to cheery, even for Iron-age. I mean How disturbed can the Heroes be? :fear:

  4. Re: Another character idea, I need help for.

Generally I am thinking possibly a demon' date=' or some other kind of malevolent entity. What are your ideas?[/quote']

Just wanted to make sure. This is a "Hero?" I mean I wasn't sure if you were going for a possible Bad Guy NPC, aid to the Hero, ect.

  5. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

GM: "I really don't like D&D 3rd Edition; no game should be that full of bureaucratic technicalities. That's why I like HERO so much."

Me: "You think HERO isn't full of technicalities and such?!?"

GM: "Sure it is; but they're ones that belong where they are, that make sense, that all work together. Unlike D&D." [pause]

GM: "Let me put it this way. HERO is like filling out a long, involved tax form... but without the possibility of an audit. D&D is like being audited before you really get started, having your return sent back because of errors, being audited again, getting penalties slapped on you for obscure tax code laws no one mentioned and that aren't referenced in the tax form instructions, and finally being told to 'Sign here to admit your guilt and accept these penalties and charges' with absolutely no option of refusing to sign."

    Tell me Dr.

Does everything I say end up on this thread? I mean I thought It was funny but dang it is like reading my life all over again.:D

  6. Re: A contriversial "Would your character...?"

Fredriek aka "The Rose" would have some real issues with this. He is a major womaniser but keeps it as far out of the public eye as he can so not to hurt his family Rep. But if she was Good looking then by all means "bring on salvation." However if she wasn't, well He makes a point to be a Hero but there are just some sacrifices that Ask WAY to much. Beside the poor villianese would end up cetching some horrible STD. No im just kiding he has regular screanings.

  7. Re: How to hide a sword

    Hello.

The best way to handle a Invis. Sword that won't cost to many points, is to build the Hilt like:

[invisibility to Sight Group , Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Usable Simultaneously (up to 2 people at once; +1/2) (40 Active Points); Gestures (Requires both hands; -1/2), Requires A Skill Roll (Concealment ; -1/2), IAF (Hilt of sword; -1/2), Conditional Power Only Works to cloak a sword (-1/2)]

If the Hilt can turn itself and a sword invs.(usable simultaneously), Also shouldn't cost end to use(or if does becuase the Special effect is magic, then only to activate)

with the limitations 1.gestures to show sheathing the sword and hiding it in a trench coat or what ever, 2. IAF becuase you could still "feel" the Hilt or otherwise sense it and in a grab attempt it could be taken away. 3.RSR to show a certain level or expertise is needed to properly possission it. 3. And " Conditional Power Only Works to Cloak a sword (-1/2) to show that you can't hide yourself in the hilt.

    What do you think?

hope it works for you, or gives you ideas.
