Just took my medication when OddHat told me he was afraid I was going to eat him. The Cold Turkey attempt has failed. I feel like hell.

I took myself off of Paxil years ago. My therapist and shrink, alike, were amazed by my lack of the typical flu-like-symptoms that usually happens. Thing was, I didn't do it cold turkey, I just took one less pill one week, then two less, etc., until I was off.

The main thing that PO's me about the game setup is that there are Lairs that are impossible to run without a full team of 5. The fact that these Lairs also have the most Story in them makes it doubly annoying. I have only once been to Apocalypse Aversion, yet could only get part-way through before half the team had to bail because it was taking so freaking long. I have never been to the final Lairs on Monster Island or Lemuria, because I could never get a team together. And now that Alerts are the Big Thing™, its almost impossible to get teams together to do the Lairs that there were always takers for, like Destroyer's Factory or Teleios's Tower.

Dang it, if they can scale Adventure Packs to work for any character regardless of level, they should be able to have a Lair scale to the size of one's team.

Believe it or not, this exchange had nothing to do with politics.

Friend: Oh wait, yeah, that was one of the bridges they burned a while ago...along with the Igivea**** bridge and the Yougetto******myair Bridge

Me: That's a lot of bridges. You'd think they were vikings or something

Friend: they do rape and pillage kind intent along the coastline of social discourse quite thoroughly

Yes, I know database servers being down is a Big Deal™. But did you really have to call it in at five-effing-thirty in the morning?! More to the point, you live in Texas, so this means you were up and awake doing work at 4:30AM local time. Seriously. Do you have anything that resembles a life? Yes, some work needs to be done after-hours. But 4:30am isn't after hours.... that is before hours. This means you run the risk of whatever task you were trying to do bleeding over into normal work hours - that doesn't happen so much when you do things after everyone has gone home as opposed to trying to get it done before everyone else gets in. It also means you are far less likely to wake.people.up when you call in your emergency.

Thanks anyway. Hell' date=' if I could transfer what's on my back to my head...[/quote']

I've known several bald guys who have body-hair like Wookies, and their most common lament is about the cruelty of Nature giving them all of that "extra" hair exactly where it is most unwanted. If only modern science could find a way to transfer it.

We got this gem of a trouble ticket sent in earlier today. I swear to God, this is all that was put into the Problem Description field...

"Our auditors are asking for a large volume of data and we need a DVD to efficiently provide it to them"

So... are you asking for a blank DVD, or for someone else to compile all of this data for you? If the latter, how about telling some useful details, like WHAT information is needed, where it is stored, how much data there is, etc.

I do so dearly love going to Pagan festivals where I get to spend time with other Pagans, kinky, and polyamorous folks. Otherwise, I'd never get to hear gems like this...

"I could never have sex with her! She's like a sister to me. Moreso than my actual sister. Yes, I'm the father of her child, but that was via artificial insemination. There was no sex involved. As for my real sister, I'd totally do her. She's hot!"

And his wife was standing right there, smiling joyously the whole time.

Q: That camel spit on me, soldier! Why did you defy my direct orders to leave it behind?

    A: Gladiator movies.

I go through cycles where I'm off-again on-again, and I've been in game a lot here lately. I made a post here about my own frustration with how the Alerts have been making it harder and harder to find teams for doing runs in the Lairs anymore. I keep coming back because the game is still fun, and the ability to customize the characters is second-to-none. The fact that my wife is also online is just a nice perk :)

  10. Re: [LoH] Run Info

Yes, indeed. pick up games have been much harder to get.

Sorry for not being on, but I'm am currently in the hospital and have been for the last 2 weeks. Probably won't be back home for another week.

No need to apologize. By all means, get better: that matters way more than a silly MMO, anyway. Besides of which, even if you had been available when I was LFG, we still would have been 3 short on the missions, and on some of those missions, you simply cannot make them without a full crew.

  11. Re: [LoH] Run Info

Is it me, or is it getting harder and harder to get folks together for pick-up-runs ever since On Alert started? Back in the day, Lairs like Destroyer's Factory, Teleios' Tower, and the Burial Caves, it took you about 1 minute, tops, to find 4 other heroes willing to help you with the runs. But now, I can go several nights LFG and not getting any offers. Not one. My guess is that everyone is going for the easy Questionite from the On Alerts and skipping the lairs entirely. Most annoying to those of us who want to do all the missions and don't really care all that much about making easy Q.

As far as I am concerned' date=' any pizza is bad pizza.[/quote']

On this, you and I are in complete agreement.

My Lady, however, loves pizza, and has high standard. She is not only ½ Italian, but lived in Manhattan for 13 years, so she loves herself some good pizza. To be fair to Log Man, she has never had the (dis)pleasure to have Hungry Howie's pizza, so it may very well be worse than Poppa Johns. But until she bites into something worse than Papa Johns, that stuff is at the bottom of the (pizza) barrel.

  13. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life.

I was at a Pagan festival even last weekend at a camp with cabins and communal bathrooms. Saturday morning, one of my friends talks about how hammered she'd gotten the night before...

"So I was in the bathroom this morning, and on my way out, I laughed because I happened to look into one of the other stalls an saw that someone left their outfit hanging up in there. Then after a couple of seconds I realized, 'Oh, crap! That's mine!!!"
