  1. The "Colt 24" is a infernal magical artifact from a horror story I read some time ago. Its looks like a regular Colt revolver but on close examination its a prop gun with 666 where the serial number would be. When pointed at a target and the trigger pulled nothing seems to happen. The gun clicks on an empty chamber or seems to misfire if loaded. But exactly 24 hours later the target will suffer an injury as if he'd been shot. There is no bullet in the wound and no sound or visual effect, the wound just appears. In he story, its invariably fatal (But that's difficult to emulate so just consider it a very deadly attack). It also seems to miss (another literary element that its not necessary to perfectly emulate) and its left open if it would affect inanimate objects since billed as a tool for assassination not combat.
  2. Its probably something that each person would have to evaluate for their own campaigns if they like this variant.
  3. Unfortunately, I don't have easy book access ATM. But its been the rule we used for quite some time so its a difference between Killing and Normal for us anyway.
  4. Of course you can hand wave, but the idea occurred as an option if someone was bothered by the idea of Killing Attack doing 0 Body before Defenses. .
  5. There's still room and time for more submissions
  6. As a possible additional rule if the idea of Killing Attack having a chance to generate 0 Body is a bug is to set a minimum Body possible say 1/3 DC class so a 6 DC Killing attack has minimum 2 Body (like its 2d6 RAW version). Its adds a bit more math (and its division...) but dividing by 3 is usually fairly easy and it only comes up once,.
  7. I mentioned that under this house rule, Killing would probably become an Advantage. We haven't worked out the value yet.
  8. The trick I've seen is get a small KA then stack a ton of "Increased Stun Multi" on it.
  9. I think I might be comfortable with Killing Attacks having a higher minimum Body. It may make players more cautious about launching 9+ DC Killing Attacks at targets with unknown defenses. Plus with no Stun Lotto there's not a big game driven reason to do so.
  10. Yeah, there is a tiny chance of rolling an attack the does 0 Body, something not possible with the current RAW. But its a very small chance and something that could be a bug or a feature depending on what you're looking for.
  11. Hm, who would rule that sfx would override shenanigans like warming yourself of future events like that?
  12. Oh, I thought the intent was to allow Killing Attack score Body totals lower than their Damage Class unlike the house rule I originally suggested. Sorry, I misunderstood you. That is something wouldn't mind preserving but I wanted to dial back some complexity as well so that aspect might have to be grudgingly sacrifice, for Superheroic games anyway. Heroic games with Hit Locations I could just use RAW.
  13. Forgive the stupid question, but must it be a middle number?
  14. That's true. I like the Low stun/high Body aspect of killing attacks too.
  15. IMO, In setting, the bag is going to look unusual in any case. Its a magical bag that holds an incredible perhaps unlimited amount of stuff as longs as you can fit it through the opening. Its might literally look like the 5 pd sack that holds 10 pds of stuff...or 100 or a 1000. Its magic, magic is weird, often with weird limits that aren't consistent. But all that would be (to me) stuff to work out if it came up in the game, sfx and gm discretion. For example my call would be if "object" means nonliving things only putting a bird cage with a bird in it in the bag would result in a bag with an inhabited Bird cage in it like any other bag. The magic fails to work. Trying to stuff a person in it gets you, at best, a person with a bag over how ever much of them can fit inside. Other odder things, I'd have to make a call based on the intent of the bag and how I treat things like animate but not technically alive things in that campaign like golems and undead (or intelligent robots, if such things exist). But we allot of things like pretty fast and loose. For people that like tighter definition, work it out before hand and definitely defining terms would probably be better.
  16. I guess it either goes away for killing attacks like Increased Stun Multiple. Or maybe say that for every 5 or so points of Stun generated a point of Body is done. Up the maximum the attack could have done? So for the first example 1 6 2 4 1 1 Penetrating Killing: 7 Body 15 Stun would inflict 3 Body if Penetrating came into play? Personally, I'd just drop it. Its something we rarely if ever use.
  17. A possible House rule we're bouncing around for our campaigns When you roll for Normal damage a value of 1 on the die generate 0 Body, 2-4 is 1 Body and 6 generate 2 Body. As an alterate for Killing Damage, roll them as you would Normal (1 six sided die per Damage Class) but a value of 1 on the die generaes 1-4 generates 1 Body and 5-6 generates 2 Body. Which would create a base amount of Body equal to the Damage Class and slightly higher results on Average while Average Stun would remain the same and the Max possible Body would be the same (x2 Damage Class). Killing Attack Body would still only be stoped by Resistance Defense, an Die roll would be used for Knockback, etc. In game that use Hit Location use the stun and Body modifers for Normal Attack for both types of attack. For example, a Damage Class 6 attack the roll: 1 6 2 4 1 1 (Bad roll!) would generate: Normal: 4 Body 15 Stun Killing: 7 Body 15 Stun Using this House Rule Killing does more Body, the Stun Lotto effect is eliminated and there is no additional rolls needed to resolve Killing Attacks.. Killing could just become and Advantage. I'm not sure what he value would be yet. The Increased Stun Multiplier Advantage is lost but it could be replicated by buying more dice as Stun Only on the base attack. Thoughts?
  18. Yeah, I thought you might have know who she was.
  19. How about this? Since Christopher's Craft won the last round, he can pick the winner if he'd like.
  20. Seems like this is case where the definition of "object" just needs to be clarified. Does it mean non living things or object in a more general sense (not a person) or what exactly? The question could come up in a some circumstances. For instance if a party member is killed and his companions need to transport their remains somewhere to be Raised. Can they now be stored in the bag of holding (assuming they'll fit)?
