  1. Re: Inceptum Terminus World Book The Gifted incorporate all three categories of standard comic superhero background types. I did it because it never made sense to have no discrimination against Altered or Equipment based superheroes while there was discrimination against Mutants. As far as a package, I haven't thought about it since I wanted them all to be fairly unique in their builds. Thanks for the great idea for a campaign ground rule.
  2. Re: Inceptum Terminus World Book I'm looking at either 250 points or 350 points for each character. The logic behind the low points value is that the Gifted are third or fourth generation so the really high powered ones haven't been born yet.
  3. Re: Inceptum Terminus World Book I forgot to put in this morning before leaving for work that any and all comments are welcome.
  4. This will be a thread about the book I'm working on for the Hero System about the superhero world I created about 16 years ago. I'll be adding more stuff to this thread, but here is the timeline of events to give an idea of where the world is at. Timeline of Events 2001 The World Trade Center is attacked by Al Qaeda terrorists and is destroyed on September 11. France and Pakistan sign a secret mutual defense pact with Iraq and Afghanistan. NATO is resolved to support the War on Terrorism and send troops into the opening moves in the Afghanistan war. The Taliban secretly sends cells aided by France and Pakistan into Europe, United States, and Asia. The cells are armed with a variety of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons of mass destruction. In the latter months of the year, the United States finds out information regarding Russian involvement in the spread of global terrorism. The United States stands before the United Nations and condemns the French and Pakastanis for their support of the terrorists. The UN dissolves shortly after the incident with China, North Korea, and Vietnam signing onto the French-Pakistani-Taliban treaty. Al Qaeda moves their cells out from those countries into neighboring countries that are supportive of the United States and her remaining NATO allies. Among those allies is the Russian Confederation. 2002 The first United States space superiority fighters and bombers are launched on space based carriers. Their orders are to destroy enemy satellites and ICBMs. France and China reply by speeding up their development on their own space based navy. By the end of the year the three sides are arrayed against each other for battle. The United States has perfected their stealth technology rendering their space force invisible to all electronic means of detection. With the Al Qaeda sleeper cells in place their target countries a wave of world wide terrorism is launched in the early hours of December 31. Weapons of mass destruction destroy many of the capitals of the United States and her allies. The entire world descends into anarchy with the United States and her allies launch their nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons at China, North Korea, France, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Iran. 2003 With the capitals and major cities destroyed across the world in the flames of destruction the United States military is left in the dark as the entire federal government collapses. The states are hard pressed to deal with the assignment of command and control since Washington D.C. disappears under a 10 megaton suitcase nuke. In the shadows of the death of the world, the corporations start their long and drawn out Corporate Wars that will last for the next two centuries. At the end of the wars the Corporate States of America rise from the ashes. Contact between the United States and the rest of the world is dissolved. The people of the former United States are reduced to being serfs to the corporate machine. The final nail in the coffin is slammed home on the last freedom and liberty for the people of the United States in most of the Corporate States. The ideals of the founding fathers died... 2004-2054 The first of the long line of Corporate Wars begins in the aftermath. The people struggle to survive under the harsh and draconian conditions. Life is just a hairs breadth away from many things like scavengers, the mega-corps, starvation, and disease. Fighting is fierce amongst the corporations and one after another fall to the strongest. By the end of 2054, the environment has stabilized and food production rises. Disease, radiation, and chemicals are cleansed from the soil by the massive reclamation projects financed by the mega-corps. The discovery by Biogenetics of mutations in the human genome results in these proto-Gifted being seized for experimentation. 2055-2100 Proto-Gifted start to appear in greater numbers among the human population. The rest of the mega-corps begin their own genetic programs and fight Biogenetics for control. Every mega-corp launches a publicity campaign designed to dehumanize The Gifted within their borders. The publicity campaign is nothing more then a fear campaign that teaches normal humans to fear these superpowered people and that they are less then human. Humans are their natural rulers and The Gifted do not even warrant such niceties as life. Near the end of the century, all but a few handful of Gifted are left free due to their skill in hiding in the vast mega-cities or out in the wilderness. 2101-2200 The Gifted are fully realized and subject to the cruelty of slavery. Their lives are short due to their extreme losses due to war, genetic testing, or hazardous work. Humanity begins to thrive under the cruel dictatorships of the mega-corps and advances are made in technology once again. Anti-gravity vehicles, gauss weapons, laser weapons, and other former future technologies have come into regular use. An era of low intensity conflict begins amongst the mega-corps and peace reigns. Some mega-corps build vast walls to protect their territory and others let people move freely between the various territories. At the end of the century the Gifted genome has been mapped out and work begins on creating artificial Gifted. Contact has been established with the former US Navy space fleet. The crew of the fleet died 60 years before due to starvation and system failures. Amidst the ruins of Washington D.C., a solitary man finds copies of the Articles of Confederation, former state Constitutions, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the Confederacy, and the writings of John Locke, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, and the Anti-Federalists in the destroyed building that housed the Library of Congress. He assumes the name Patriot and spreads these writings throughout the underworld's vast computer network. 2201-2250 Patriot's fame spreads throughout the former United States and becomes hunted by the Corporate States of America. He travels the underground and spreads the message of freedom and equality. Over the next 40 years like minded individuals assemble to write a new constitution and vow to restore the states to power. Patriot and his close cabinet of advisors seek out and hide select Gifted. He offered them human rights and freedom in exchange for their help in toppling the mega-corps. They are a black project that only a select few individuals know of their existence and given the code name Inceptum Terminus. The beginning and the end for the future of humanity in the former United States. The New Confederation of the United States elects its first government officials at the beginning of the new year for 2250. After the election, the Congress of the New Confederation votes to declare war on the Corporate States of America...

  6. Re: Mayfair DC Heroes to Champions Conversion Thank ya and glad that you liked it. Life Support has to be defined to the specific substances for immunities and what environments are safe for him according to FREd.
  7. Re: Mayfair DC Heroes to Champions Conversion
  8. Here's my DC Heroes to Champions conversion files in pdf format. The characters are done from the Post-Crisis of Infinite Earths series. Comments are welcome.
  9. Re: 40KHero - Space Marine Template They start out as Hero level characters so they would pay cash for their equipment.
  10. Re: 40KHero - Space Marine Template Glad you liked the Tyranus Conclave Adeptus Astartes book and it was a pleasure to co-write it.
  11. Re: Battlestar galactica pistols. That they are and there is no disputing it. However, my point has always been that the round fired from the pistol's main barrel isn't an explosive round. The explosive round comes from the under barrel which is a 15mm grenade launcher minimum. I asked one of my friends that's a firearms manufacturer about the pistol used by the Colonial military in the series. She said going from the pictures of the weapon that they are a double barrel weapon with the upper barrel being a regular pistol barrel and the lower barrel being a single shot grenade launcher. Remember the episode where the Cylon centurions boarded the Galactica? The Colonials fired the explosive rounds from the lower barrel and they had to reload after every shot which is what made it tense because Lee had to take time to reload. If the rounds from the main barrel were explosive then the Colonials wouldn't have had to reload after a single shot.
  12. Re: Battlestar galactica pistols. The problem with your thinking is that in BSG Ronald Moore decided that they would be using modern or slightly outdated real world equipment for the universe. Meaning that they're using real weapons and following what we've developed in the way of bullets etc... Even the starfighters follow scientific principles. BSG doesn't rely upon technobabble to make things work since the writers use Newtonian, Euclidian, and Einstien's scientific principles. The only item that isn't real world in the show is Tylium. It's also not that all that hard to believe that firearms development was nearly identical to ours which explains why they use such weapons as the P90 and FN FiveSeven pistol.
  13. Re: G.i. Joe Hero Here's a link to all of the GI Joe action figures produced till 2005. However, it does not cover Sigma 6. http://joes.propadeutic.com/pre82.html
  14. Re: BSG Hero Update Noted and seeing about switching to a color sidebar.
  15. Re: BSG Hero Update New in this update: Basestars: This took time to complete due to the lack of official information regarding its capabilities. If anyone has any suggestions to improve or modify it please let me know so we can discuss it. Characters: I've finished most of the prominent characters from the Galactica. In my next update I'll include Laura Roslin, but due to time constraints I cut her. As with the Basestars if anyone has ideas or suggestions on the characters on their skills or disadvantages let me know so I can change them. The characters I did are William Adama, Lee Adama, Gaius Baltar, Dr. Cottle, Anastasia Dualla, Felix Gaeta, Saul Tigh, and Kara Thrace. With the inclusion of characters the book jumped from 55 pages to 98 pages.
  16. Re: How much cash do let your characters start out with? A character without the perk Money begins the game between $11,000-75,000 depending upon what you deem to be Middle Class. You can adjust it to the money system you have in your world.
  17. Re: Systems Operation The expanded list uses the rules from Star Hero concerning Systems Operation. If none of the options are selected then you use the default rules concerning the skill in the FReD.
  18. Re: BSG Hero Update Here's the latest version of the sourcebook. New to this version is the addition of firearms with the standard Colonial Military sidearm. I also fixed a lot of the problems with the formating that was in the last version.
  19. Re: Battlestar galactica pistols. There are two models of Cylon Centurions. One model is the original and is lightly armored so the regular round from the pistol can take them out easy. The second model is heavily armored and requires a the grenade launcher to take them out. The Cylon Centurions may also have different armors. For instance, a small number of them wreaked havoc when boarding Galactica, and could only be destroyed using explosive rounds (Valley of Darkness). Centurions encountered on Caprica reacted more slowly, acted less intelligently, and were more easily destroyed by small arms fire. This may be due to the Cylons' plans for Helo and the copy of Sharon Valerii with him; killing them would render their experiments worthless. A similiar group of Centurions found on Kobol during the episode Fragged were equally less individually intelligent. It may be that these Centurions are very simple soldiers that, despite their menacing statistics, are limited in their evolution and programming. Centurians are not sentient, and are not downloaded upon destruction.
  20. Re: Battlestar galactica pistols. I made the pistol for the BSG Hero sourcebook I'm working on. Here's the stats on it. Cost Powers END 15 Colonial Standard Sidearm w/ Explosive Launcher: Multipower, 44-point reserve, +2 PER Mod, (41 Active Points); STR Minimum 1-5 (STR Min. Cannot Add/Subtract Damage; -3/4); all slots OAF (-1) 1u 1) 5.7x28mm Barrel: Killing Attack - Ranged 1d6, 4 clips of 20 Charges (+1/4) (19 Active Points); OAF (-1), -1 Decreased STUN Multiplier (-1/4), Reduced By Range (-1/4), Real Weapon (-1/4) 1u 2) 15mm Explosive Launcher: Killing Attack - Ranged 1 1/2d6, Explosion (+1/2), Nonselective Target (-1/4), Armor Piercing (+1/2) (44 Active Points); 8 clips of 1 Charge (-1), OAF (-1), Real Weapon (-1/4) 0u 3) Watertight: Custom Power ; OAF (-1) 1u 4) Flash Suppressor: Invisibility to Sight Group , Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2) (30 Active Points); OAF (-1) 1u 5) Barrel Coating and Improved Bedding: +1 with Ranged Combat (5 Active Points); IIF (-1/4), Required Hands One-And-A-Half-Handed (-1/4), Real Weapon (-1/4) It seems that, in the second season of the RDM series, the original sidearms have been completely replaced by the Fabrique Nationale Five-seveN, also dressed up with an underbarrel explosive launcher. (This changeover allows for real semi-automatic fire and makes use of the Vancouver studio's existing stores of 5.7mm (FN P-90) blank ammunition.)
  21. Re: BSG Hero Update Here's the updated book with the corrected Heavy Raider and Autonomous Raider.
  22. Re: BSG Hero Update Ahh thank you for catching that error and the INT should be 20 for the onboard computer systems on the Autonomous Raider. The Heavy Raider would also have an INT of 20. The computer systems are identical in specs to the systems installed on the Rapter.
