  1. Re: BSG Hero Update I changed the layout in the book from a single column to two column. A friend of mine will be making a new cover and will be making side page graphics. Overall the book looks much better then it did.
  2. Re: Star Trek Online (Star Trek's new MMO) After playing 5 of them I can honestly say that MMO's are a big waste of time and the most empty feeling you get from playing. There's hardly any stories worth talking about from your experience unlike pen and paper. Plus they lack the interaction with a GM and impact upon the world. No matter what you do in the MMO you'll have zero impact what-so-ever. Not very fulfilling if you ask me.
  3. Re: High Plains Hero My best advice for finding out information of what life was like back then is to go online to the historical society's webpage for the area you're interested in using. They'll have better information then what you can get anywhere else.
  4. Re: Star Trek Online (Star Trek's new MMO) Pretty much which is why I ended up coming back to pen and paper RPGs. No programmer can replicate it.
  5. Star Trek Online is a massively multiplayer online game where you will join Starfleet and explore the greatest wonders and discoveries from our galaxy and beyond. You will team up with thousands of other players as you advance from Starfleet Academy and master your skills aboard a starship. Your journey will take you to far-away posts at the fringes of known space where you will carry out missions to establish contact with new civilizations while protecting the values of the Federation during a time of rising tensions. Rising through the ranks will test your abilities as a warrior, diplomat, explorer, and most importantly: a leader. Play your cards right and you will one day become Captain of your own starship and chart your own course to the final frontier. http://startrek.perpetual.com/index.html
  6. Re: Translator Badges -1/4 sounds about about right with the upper limit being -1/2.
  7. Re: Translator Badges From what I remember of the movie it translated the wear's words into a language they could understand. Only translate incoming spoken languages would be a custom limitation and at most -1/2.
  8. Re: BSG Hero Update A friend of mine is currently working on the characters from the series. It'll take him a few days, but it will be well worth the wait to have all of the major characters in it.
  9. Re: BSG Hero Update Thank you for the kind words. Right now I'm prefering to hold onto the hdc files as things can be changed in a future revision. I haven't written up any of the characters from the series. I just haven't had time.
  10. Re: [Compilation] "to Star HERO Conversions & Adaptations" Please add my BSG Hero to the list. http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41405
  11. I managed to finally finish the original battlestar. The only thing left is the equipment list, a Colonial cruiser, Colonial frigate, Colonial destroyer, and the basestar. The book is shaping up really well, so please feel free to comment on the book suggesting changes or additions. So far it's at 64 pages and will continue to grow at a fast pace. Enjoy.
  12. Re: Land of confusion I'd say Mind Control with a limitation of can only cause confusion rated at -1/4.
  13. Re: Package Deals in 5ER I still use the bonuses from 4E in FRed because it makes sense and rewards players with creative thinking. I even use the disadvantages attributed to the package as well.
  14. Re: Battlestar Galactica: Ship Writeups I got all of the small craft done for my BSG Hero sourcebook for the original series and working on the capital ships. Feel free to look at the pdf I did in my thread titled My Version of BSG Hero.
  15. Re: Sports HERO My best friend ran a WWE game using the Hero system and he said it turned out well. I didn't play in his game, but from what he told me is that he would have his players create a heroic level character at the start and they would work their way up from being a nobody to a superstar. He used only skills and made everyone take Secret ID's to begin with. He even used the combat system unmodified.
  16. Re: A Question on how to design a capital ship bridge Oh I see and thank ya.
  17. Re: A Question on how to design a capital ship bridge Thank ya and how do you put on the limitation requires a crew for each station? I figured it out with powers when I built the flak turrets and point defense guns, but this part just has me stumped. BTW I appreciated the help you gave me on the battlestar design as it forced me to evaluate the design of the weapons and to adjust them.
  18. Re: HERO powers to Unisystem From what I've seen it's a generic role play system like Hero is.
  19. I'm working on the battlestars for BSG Hero and I'm beating my head trying to figure out how to put in a bridge that requires a large group of people to run. The bridge comprises CIC, Tactical, Damage Control, Weapon Firing Control, Communications, and Helm. Each one of these areas are run by a seperate computer system that can be networked together. Any advice on how to do this Steve?
  20. Re: Seemingly Silly Things to Model Toilet useage skill and a porta-potty spell.
  21. Re: My Version of BSG Hero Not a problem on that. Look into what the modern carrier group has and make a comparable ship for BSG. They won't be as heavily armed and armored as a battlestar but there will be more of them to concentrate fire on a single target.
  22. Re: My Version of BSG Hero Well from RDM they do have mining ships and refinery ships due to the nature that a BSG is out for extended periods of time namely around years. A Battlestar Group is a Colonial Fleet unit lead by a battlestar. On ship crests, badges, and documents it is often abbreviated as "BSG". Battlestar Groups are seen by Ronald D. Moore as analagous to a modern-day Carrier Battle Group, comprising at least one battlestar, plus a number of support vessels. Given the number of available battlestars at the outbreak of hostilities with the Cylon attack, it is possible that a battlestar group may have comprised a number (3-4) battlestars operating as a single unit, supported by additional Colonial vessels.
