  1. Re: Sorry Officer... Can't Remember What He Looks Like!

Oh' date=' and the lim "does not stop people from knowing where you are" sounds like a -1 to -2. Depends on how useful it'll be in your game. It's similar to "useless in combat" + "does not work against cameras". If your game has a lot of investigation and intrigue, it wouldn't be so limiting. If (like my games) combat happens very often and is a major component, closer to -2.[/quote']

Makes me think the way to go would be Shapeshift (Sight), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), to No One In Particular

While not quite the 'Sorceror Supreme' of my universe,

Anubis here is one of the forerunners should the current

    one need replacement.

  3. Re: Character concept: Viable? "Caffinated Man"

    Heh.

I've got an NPC based on this concept, but with his

'unique physiology' any amount of caffeine will send him

    into super-speed mode.

    And his name is Javaman!

( And his sidekick, err, partner is Fidget )

I just gave him Continuing charges on some extra Dex with

a focus and defined that as his Hero ID. Everything else is OIHID.

  4. Re: Classing Naming: (this) and (that)

Smoke and Ash: Smoke is a demi-brick with smoke generating/control powers.

Ash can go desolid, explode in a cloud of ash and reform as teleportation, and of course burn people with the cinders still in her core...

The Ghost and the Darkness: One desolid character, and one darkness controller.

Boy and his dog. A street urchin with healing powers, and a mutant dog with growth.

Raven and a Writing Desk. They both have wings. ;-)

    The Fox and the Hound.

    Fear and Loathing.

    Break and Enter.

Dead and Gone. ( Hmm... )

  5. Re: The Legion Thread

Don't forget one of the classic purposes of the Legion Flight rings. It enabled the user to match the flight of another wearer. That is to say if Superboy was wearing his flight ring, Invisible Kid II could match his speed.

    Hawksmoor

Clinging, ranged, Only to other Legion flight rings...

    How's that? :-D

  6. Re: What was you most powerful Attack vs. Supervillian???

Biggest vs. a Supervillian was a mere 24d6 pushed punch. Didn't even stun him.

Now if we add what we've done to players...

I've hit a PC with a 20d6 killing explosion, from a nuclear bomb.

The PC took 2 body which regenerated by the time his brain rebooted.

Same session, less than 5 turns later, he did an uncontrolled megascale move-through on a small uninhabited planet. The planet lost.

Now _that_ was a high-powered game, and the character, Golem, the toughest SOB in the game.

  7. Re: Gay and Bisexual Superheroes

Haven't thought about it much for my NPCs.

Only one has been revealed to be bi. In my Hero games, I've

had 1 bi woman, 3 bi men, and a gay man, but the only gay PC

was played by one of the straight guys.

( And another of the straight guys, with encouragement from the

gay men, has threatened to play a more flamboyant gay character

called 'the flame' with human torch like powers. Luckily for any game

integrity I managed to talk him into saving it for a more silly

    game. )

  8. Re: Sex and the Single Superhuman

Spartacus: Currently lusting after Weather Girl.

Weather Girl has a 20+ COM, and is the only female in the group, so he's competing with an Atlantean prince, a powerful sorceror, an intelligent and charismatic martial artist, and a rugged military hero. Bad.

However, Spartacus has an edge, as his player is married to Weather Girl's. :)

Minor nit, Riptide is Lemurian, not Atlantian. Atlantis is in the OTHER ocean. ;-)

Bingo the Clowno: Married with two little clowns back at the home he calls circus. ( Or is that the other way around? He is a strange one... )

Paladine: Single and looking but without enough clues to find. :-D

Señor Mysterio: Married with a couple surprisingly normal children considering daddy's profession as Luchadore (24/7 in the mask) and Master of the Mystic Wrestling Arts.

  9. Re: WWYC Want for Christmas?

Bingo the Clown wants shiney blue balls. And a hula-hoop.

The Paladine wants what anyone else would want. Happiness. Pure happiness with a bright red bow tied around it. Not one of those store bought bows, and it doesn't have to be fancy. Just a basic red bow. And a box. Yes, the bow should be around a box. And possibly inside the box they can keep the happiness. But happiness must breathe, does it not? So the box should have holes in it! That is what he wants, a box with holes wrapped in a big red bow containing happiness. Isn't that what everyone wants?

  10. Re: Comics from the Good Ol' Days

The Essential Dr. Strange is great for that surreal Mystic thing...

I also have Essential Silver Surfer #1 and Incredible Hulk #1 which have their first origins and such.

For the DC Archives, I only have the Superman: Action Comics Archive #2. In the stories in that one book you see the first appearance of Luthor ( not called Lex yet ), a second appearance of the first supervillian, Ultra-Humanite, and Supermans progression from Leaping Tall Buildings, to straight out flight. There is also DC Comics reaction to the start of WWII where they have fictional countries going to war. It was very interesting and a fun read.

Marvel does have color hardbound copies of their Essential series, also going for around $50. I don't know if they have all of their Essential books in the color/hardcover format, but they do have quite a few.

  11. Re: Character Creation WHOOPS!

I let my players tweek their characters if they forgot to

add a lim, or something like that. Especially if by special

effect I would enforce it anyway. 'Normal Fire Guy' has a

power to burn things, but they are in the San Francisco bay,

unless it is intended to be magical waterproof fire then it

won't work. Even if the player forgot to add the lim. At that

point you might as well take the lim and save the points.
