  1. Re: This week on "Champions"...

West Coast Supers: Fri 7pm - The Red Demon Ninja clan returns to try to claim the Ring of Ancestors, and this time they hired help. Also Major Smashing shows his true colors. Can the contestants overcome the coalition of old foes?

  2. Re: Where do superpowers come from?

An experiment in quantum strings went awry and altered the

base string alignment for the solar system. With the fundamental

principals of reality thus altered, those subjected to near-death

events and possessing a particularly primordial will to live

spontaneously discovered certain methods of controlling the newly

    altered physics around them.

This way accidents sometimes cause superpowers which can be

related to the theme of the accident, based on the personality

of the individual, but still does not always cause superpowers

in those subjected to the events.

  3. Re: Hitler in a jar

In my universe, the Nazi party fled to Mars to rebuild, saving

some genetic data from Hitler. Since then they have cloned him

multiple times so that their entire Ruling Council is now called

    the Council of Hitler.

One of their technical experts is a mentalist scientist brain-in-

a-jar called just 'The Brain'. He engineers/clones/steals bodies and

has his entire Jar placed where the head/neck should be.

Just my ramble on the subject...

  4. Re: Help with Sai (character review)

Lock out prevents you from using the other slots in a multipower.

Which reminds me that the EB should have 1 recoverable charge.

But if you're going to have just a 3d6 EB, I would drop the

slot all together. 3d6 won't reliably stun naked toddlers.

  5. Re: Help with Sai (character review)

I'd do it as a multipower, since you want to be able to use it in H-t-H combat and be able to throw it, right?

    So, something like...

15 pts 30 pt Multipower - Sai (OAF)

    1pt 1) 1d6+1 HKA AP (+1/2)

    1pt 2) 1d6+1 RKA AP (+1/2)

Couple of things doing it this way. It's OAF, so it can be taken away in combat. but it save points. Second, making it a RKA means that it will always return if you thrown it (very skilled!), and you can't lose it that way. If you bought it as an OIF, it couldn't be taken from you during combat, and would reflect your character being very skilled at holding on to them, at the cost of a few more points.

There might be a better way to buy sai found in an official book, but this is a pretty good start (I also am at work). You can buy a second sai for an additional 5 pts.

Personally, I would stick with the non-sharpened Sai. The

sharpened ones get too much air-time.

    15 pts 30 pt Multipower - Sai; OAF -1

    1u +2d6 HtH; Hand-to-hand -1/2, OAF -1 1 end

    1u 6d6 EB; OAF -1, Lock out -1/2 3 end

    1u +30 STR; Only to Disarm -2, OAF -1 3 end

    The Foxbat of Winter :

On live TV on the early Morning of Groundhog's Day, Foxbat has

kidnapped Punxsutawney Phil. His soliloquy reveals that he plans

to control the seasons with the powers of the Groundhog. Does he

really just want it to be Christmas again so he can get more presents?

Or does he have darker goals in mind?

And even more importantly, does anyone care?

  8. Re: Lucha Character: Assistance Needed.

Note that I haven't even gotten started going through the WWF Smackdown - Know Your Role PlayStation game to convert the extensive list of moves in there.

Lots of them really are standard moves renamed, but some are really, really weird.

Also note that I haven't organized it yet. It is just a list from the Lucha characters in my world.

  10. Re: What would your character LIKE TO do?

The Paladine would like to know where all these midgets came from.

Señor Mysterio would like to hold on to the Title Belt for at least a couple months.

The Highwayman would like to find redemption and finish dying.

Bingo the Clowno would like to see how many cream pies it takes to fill the White House.

  11. Re: Why that costume

Sr. Mysterio is a Luchadore. His costume is his ring attire.

Bingo the Clowno is a Clown.

The Paladine wears a suit of classic looking armor for that added protection. ( not that he needs it )

The Highwayman seems to wear the clothes he died in.

But he's a ghost, no costume change possible.

Javaman, however, wears a costume so that if he trips, he

doesn't get the worlds worst case of road-rash. And it is

blue because he likes that color.

  12. Re: Delete me please

EDM Usable as attack. To the 'Trash Can Dimension'.

EDM Usable as attack, transdimensional. Only from the 'Trash Can Dimension' to this one.

The 'Trash Can Dimension' has an inherent property of destroying everything in it about once a month or so.

  13. Re: Give me your best idea please

Well. Now I feel sick. Thanks for giving me a clue tho.

I wouldn't switch out a perfectly cool origin just because

it is in use in a non-mainstream comic. Especially when you

    developed your version independantly.

( And yes, as cool as Astro City is, most people, even comic

book fans, have never heard of it, let alone read the story

    arcs with these two... )

  14. Re: PREDATORS -- What Do *You* Want To See?

Yes they were' date=' since it was a Champions supplement at the time. As you'll see in [i']Hudson City,[/i] Card Shark and his men are now in line with established Dark Champions parameters. ;)

The sample villains in Dark Champions itself are a good example of the sort of thing you'll see in Predators (though of course the latter will have more variety). There will even be a few "weird" characters with odd abilities that don't violate the genre feel -- but no space aliens. ;)

So no anthropomorphic Fly's who wear fuzzy long coats and pimp da hoes?

( What? Papa Fly is a great bad guy... )

  15. Re: STUN Reduction

Ok' date=' now throw it in a campaign where you have the chance of being shot at buy a 16D RKA! This is a transformer campaign and points for NPCs run from 400 to 1000. The 16d RKA is for Omega Supreme's Plasma Blaster, which is supposed to [i']"pulverize a solid 12' x 12' x 12' steel cube"[/i] - http://tfarchive.com/comics/genone/universe/tfuomegasupreme.php.

Either way, do you feel that in a high powered campaign like this that allowing the DR rules and accepted usage to flex more than normal? As per my original post?

Nope. If you've got that many points, buy it at (nearly) full cost.

  16. Re: Entangle, Desolidification, and the Quest for Truth

Unfortunately' date=' Entangles with a "cannot be teleported out of" advantage would then stop the power.[/quote']

Would most entangles with 'Cannot be escaped with teleport' have a special effect that going desolid should be able to overcome?

Should going 'desolid' overcome having your nerves short-circuited by electricity, or by having your neurons overloaded by a poison gas, or by being stuck in a temporal warp?

What kind of 'cannot be escaped with teleport' entangles _should_ this special effect of desolid be allowed to bypass?
