I've always wanted to go on a tour of that place, but have never got to travel near it on business yet.

Actually, that would be Sarah Winchester, the Wife

of said Winchester Arms millionaire. And the spirits

are of everyone killed by her husband's rifles, not

    just the natives.

Mrs. Arkham and I took the flashlight tour for our

anniversary on Oct 31... We live in the same city

as the Winchest Mystery House, so we try to make

a point of getting back there fairly regularly...

  2. None of my characters have, but two of the PC's

in one game I've run have had truely obscene skill

rolls for some things. Note that this was an 800 point game, so they had points to throw around a bit.

One was Golem, a robot secret weapon of the Israeli government with of course an eidetic memory and always on internet connection. So he purchased a very broad skill, KS: Internet at 50-

The other was a cosmic traveler silver-surfer type where instead of trying to decide all the star systems he's been to and getting AK for them, he just purchased AK: Milky Way at 40- so he'd have a good ( almost certain ) chance of knowing any general info about any system he might encounter.

  3. I am working on Sword and Sorcery campaign...

There are no races but humans.

There are no PC spellcasters, for all magic is

either derived from demons, or causes the user

    to go completely mad.

I'm liberally applying the Hyperborian feel...

  4. My current campaign is pretty darn cosmic, with

the PCs weighing in at around 800 character points

after all is said and done, and their most powerful

    foes are around 1,200

But aside from 1 other NPC hero, they are the most

powerful heros on the plant, and in the top 10

in this section of the galaxy. ( Although a few of

their Hunted's are more powerful, most of them

are either organizations, or extra-dimensional )

  5. As someone else said, it depends upon how you are meaning 'Stop time'.

To take a target out of time, I would use a version of Entangle covering all senses, including the sense of time and BOECV.

If you want to step out of time yourself, then my favorite way to do that is to just timetravel to

the beginning of the moment until a total of a minute has passed.

    Time stop:

Extradimensional movement 20 Any other time +20

Time travel only -1/2, Only travel to a moment ago -1,

    Continuous +1, 1 Continuing Charge -1 ( 1 minute ),

    OAF ( pocketwatch ) -1, Triggered +1/2 ( Push the button )

    ( 100 Active, 22 Real )

PLUS Desolid linked -1/2, 1 Continuing charge -1

    ( 40 active, 16 real )

    Total cost 38 real points.

But just like the EDM it is based on, it is definately a {STOP} power.

( But then, so is nearly any time manipulation power )

But this is the only way you get the effect of stepping out of time so you can see bullets in mid-air, falling objects stopped, airplanes stopped dead in flight, etc.

  6. This is for a PC in my campaign.

The PC is Über, an unwitting participant in a german

bioengineering project to create the Übermensch.

He looks like Dolph Lundgren, except bigger, brilliant,

tougher, etc. And his DNPC is a kitten named Flaumig.

    ( german for Fluffy )

It's only been 2 sessions so far, and the cat has already

been more of a disadvantage than most other DNPCs so far.

Bob the Builder would _SO_ kick his rear!

    Here is a few more...

Beast vs. Blue ( of Blues Clues fame )

    Brainiac vs. Dexter.

Teen Titans vs. Power Puff girls. ( $20.00 on the girls )

Beast vs. Beast ( As in Maggie and the Ferocious Beast )

    Yellowjacket vs. Winnie the Pooh

Iron Man vs. The Iron Giant

Plastic Man vs. Sponge Bob Squarepants. ( This would be fairly even actually... )

    Black Manta vs. PB&J Otter.

    Ultron vs. Rollie Pollie Ollie.

  8. Ahh, but how about the point cost of a normal

person's stuff? How many points would it be for

every flashlight, lightbulb, television and phone

    in an average house?

How about an average commuter car, there is at least

another few points. And a bookshelf! It is, after all,

just a computer without programs, and with the 'extra

    time' limitation...

And if we're selling back stats, you _know_ reproductive

organs are worth some points as a very limited Summon

with Extra Time and IAF ( ask a guy raised with a

sister ( Unless you don't wear pants, then it is OAF ) )...

I need more coffee, this is too silly.

  9. Here's an Idea I was hoping to play, but being always

the GM and never the Player, won't get a chance...

    A Boy and his Dog.

Boy is an orphan street kid, trying to make it on his

own in a very messed up world. He has strange

dreams which tell of a horrible crimes that either

will happen, or has happened. Though they are dreamlike

and unclear he feels compelled to help those involved.

This has made him very empathic, so he can sense the

feelings of those around him. His attunement to others also

lets him heal their wounds with just a touch.

Dog was an experimental subject which went out of

control and escaped from the biotech facility. He had

been shot several times, drugged, starving, exhausted,

and dehydrated. He was lying in a creek in the City,

slowly dying. That is where Boy found him.

Boys touch healed dog, and calmed and comforted him.

Now Boy and Dog are constant companions.

When Boy is in danger, Dog grows to 24 meters tall,

bristles with fury and rends asunder those trying to hurt

his Master. When Dog is enraged, his howl tears at

the souls of his foes, and drives them into thralls of

terror. Only the safety of Boy, or Boy's command can

get Dog to back down when he is enraged.

  10. Wow

Wow, all these strangely convoluted power constructions,

and no one has commented upon my Continuous EDT-Time version.

    So, here's another shot.

    Time stop:

Extradimensional travel 20 Any other time +20

Time travel only -1/2 Only to the beginning of user's

    phase -1 Continuous +1 1 Charge -2 OAF Fragile

    ( pocketwatch ) -1 ( 80 active, 15 real )

PLUS Desolid linked -1/2 1 Continuing charge -1?

    ( 40 active, 16 real )

    Total cost 31 real points.

Maybe add 10 Str, linked, Affects real world if you

want to actually change things around while the rest of

the world is stuck in your one little second.

How you would set it up as a 'defensive' action that you

can abort to, I don't know. I'm still fairly new to Hero.

Maybe add 'triggered' to go off when you push the button

    on the watch.

    It's all good. :)

Now given that it is intended for the PC to essentially

'step out of time' for a while, does it work thematically, and

rules-wise for the issue at hand?

And all for less than 60 real points?

Why would you need usable as attack? The only one

technically traveling though time is the user... The desolid

is mostly there so that if they stand still for a turn, they

don't timetravel into themselves and get hurt...

And as a GM, I wouldn't allow 0 end, otherwise the

PC could wander around indefinately with the whole

Multiverse stuck in time, until they decide to release it.

But 1/2 end, I could see. That's an expensive power.

  13. My take on Timestop

This is a bit quirky, and IDHMBIFOM, so I will

probably be off on the points and modifiers...

Extradimensional travel 20 Other times +20

Time travel only -1/2 Only to the beginning of this phase -1

    Constant +1 ( 80 active, 32 real ) PLUS Desolid linked -1/2

    ( 40 active, 27 real ) Total cost 59 real points.

Special effect being that everything the character

isn't interacting with stays still instead of zipping back

and forth for 1second of movement.
