  1. Re: Turakian Age Calendar Program Sorry, I need to clarify what I said. Other than the zipped file on this thread, I am not aware of it being anywhere else on the web. The player who wrote the program asked that I post it as a zipped file so that the read me would be downloaded along with the program. The readme has his email address for questions, and it has a few brief instructions. I will just email the two separate, unzipped, parts to you.

  4. Re: Requirements for Sainthood I appreciate your page number reference, but I was looking to expand upon the sparse information that is given in the Turakian Age book. I find this subject incredibly interesting in light of the miracles most priests can perform in a high fantasy game, so I started wondering what the criteria should be for someone to be a(n) saint (esaile). Like you, I like that in the Turakian Age that the gods decide who will qualify for sainthood, since this avoids political considerations to some degree. However, I figure that Kilbern, being a god of justice, will have certain criteria he will consider. I just don't see him doing it arbitrarily.
  5. I am currently running a Turakian Age campaign, and I have been pondering what acts would deem a person worthy of sainthood in a high fantasy game. With priests being able to heal someone very easily and with a more than a few priests being able to resurrect someone, the bar for determining sainthood seems like it should be incredibly high. So what should be the minimum actions necessary for a priest to be declared a saint after death? It seems that resurrecting the dead should be a necessary condition precedent, but it would be far from sufficient. Raising the dead in fantasy game may separate the men from the boys ( and the women from the girls), but it doesn't demonstrate the devotion and faith of one the greatest spiritual icons of all time in a high fantasy world. What would be sufficient to make one a saint in a fantasy religion? Banishing one of the most powerful demons in existence? Hunting down the most powerful necromancer, demon summoner, or lich in a kingdom? Care to share your thoughts? Zindil
  6. Re: Turakian Age Calendar Program Lightning91, I can email you a different copy of the file to see if that helps. Just pm me with your email address. Zindil
  7. Re: Turakian Age Calendar Program Thanks Steve! It would be great if you would put it on the free stuff page. Mudpyr8, Alec would probably be more than willing to share the code. He is very much into open source software. In the read me file, he left his email address. Just email him and explain what you were hoping to do with the code. Zindil
  8. A friend of mine, who is a computer programmer, made a calendar program for my Turakian Age game. It allows note taking related to the specific day in the Turakian calendar. You can bookmark dates and other cool features. It has been incredibly useful to us, so I asked him if I could post it here for others. He has graciously agreed. Thanks Alec! The readme file has his email address for any questions, bugs, or words of appreciation. Be sure your java program is up to date. Mine wasn't, and it didn't work correctly till I downloaded an update. Zindil

  12. Re: What would you like to see in Enchanted Items? As far as Turakian Age items go, I would like to see the Lord of the Graven Spear's weapon, or possibly new magic items made from recovered fragments of the spear.
  13. Re: Character: Lennart's Vengeance Great character Susano. I think I might buy that miniature now. "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Susano again."
  14. Re: PTOLUS Conversion Open Discussion Anyone have any thoughts on whether Ptolus would easily transplant into the Turakian Age setting, as far as feel and magic level goes?
  15. Re: Turakian Age Question. It is unlikely that either side would immediately go to war with the other, for it would be very difficult logistically to maintain the attacking army. The distance between Kal-Turak and the nation of Thun is vast, and there is no direct route without going through other nations. This would make it very difficult to keep up a supply chain for the army, unless Kal-Turak were to use a vast amount of magical power. Even if he had that kind of power at the appropriate time in the campaign, it would still make more sense for Kal-Turak to attack closer nations first and save his power for other things.
  16. Re: Great Forensic Evidence Site Thanks for posting a working link. I don't know why my link didn't work.
  17. This site has a huge number of forensic evidence links: www.crimelynx.com/forensic.html The links cover everything from fingerprint identification to a crime scene investigation guide published by the U.S. Department of Justice.
