  1. Realism seems to be the case here. However, especially in fantasy, a lot of infections are unnoticeable, similar to how you can't notice a heart attack in 1500, so, my question is: How Would You Notice These Infections and Diagnose The Effects Of Them?

Additionally, this would remove the magic of clerics (Maybe, tell me if I'm going astray). This would limit the spellcasting and focus more upon swordfighting (Which May Be A Good Or Bad Thing, Depends On Your Campaign Idea).

Finally, I Would Believe That A Better Quality Health Kit Would Improve The Chance of Making A First Aid Roll (Which Really Could Just Be Paramedics IMO.) especially since that better quality health kits improve chances of survival IRL.

As Words Die, I Appreciate This System, Other Than My Suggestions

  2. Many people consider some characteristics reducible down to 0. For example, PD and ED are considered characteristics, but are used at 0 all the time without penalty other than just not having defense. CVs in FRED are attached to different characteristics, so they have consequences. In 6E, they aren't, so I would have no problem with someone reducing DCV to 0 to say that they are essentially incapable at dodging or that they are so large that they essentially hit them regardless. Commonly, DEX is reduced with DCV so I see why that is the case in FRED, but just because someone is incapable at dodging doesn't mean that they are incapable at hitting a target. Same thing with MOCV and MDCV. But that was already explained. This all goes back to the differences between FRED and 6E and how each are run.

As Words Die, I Realize That I Almost Never Use MOCV and MDCV.

  3. The average roll per die is 3.5, not 3. You might be thinking of standard effect. So 6 * 3.5 = 21 points. (Note: I'm not looking to get into a debate/argument over the fact that you can't roll a 3.5 directly on a die. Just covering the math.)

Fine! I've just always used 3 for mine!

  4. Remember the effects of Aid (and other Adjustment Powers) apply to the Active Point cost, not the Characteristic value. So while 6d6 of Aid STR costs the same as 6d6 Aid SPD, the former will on the average increase 21 points of STR (which costs 1 for 1) while the latter will on average increase 2 points of SPD (which costs 10 for 1).

Um... Wouldn't a 6D6 Increase STR by 18 not 21? Additionally, the SPD would increase by 1 not 2.

As Words Die, I Notice There Are A Lot Of Similarities In My Argument To Yours!

  5. I'm not sure why you are talking about DCV, I know how AOE works. You didn't address the Charge problem. The target will be "painted" for a single phase and then all effect of Images will go away because it is a Constant Power that is not being maintained. Applying the SFX "paint" doesn't magically change how Constant Powers work. I don't find being easier to hit for 1 second to be particularly useful.

I put the line "You are correct that I forgot to put a continuing charge"

  6. I don't think that works how you think it works.

As a Constant Power without Continuing Charges the Image will disappear as quickly as an Instant Power. Even if you make it last, the person simply leaves the area of the Image Power and is no longer affected by it.

Also, I don't think the use of Surface is appropriate for the AOE, but I may be wrong there.

    1) Images will, unless you fail a DCV 3 roll, always paint the target. Besides, The Paint Is Extremely Visible and can be seen for a long way, much like the example of a ball of light. You are correct that I forgot to put a continuing charge,

    2) Surface would be the best because it describes any type of surface. You could throw it on a corner of a room and it would paint both walls and the ceiling/floor. You could throw it on a person. If this didn't happen, I would, indeed, use Radius. However, since corner tricks DO work, I would use surface.

As Words Die, I Cannot Get Anything Fully Right Anymore.

  7. You can. The point cost doesn't vary but...

Let's Say You Have a an Aid OCV, DCV, and SPD. 7D6 (STANDARD EFFECT 21 Points).

    +4 OCV

+2 DCV (Due To The Defense Power Doubling For Aid)

    +2 SPD

This means that the point cost to up the stat once must be fulfilled to increase the stat with Aid

  8. And that differs from what I already have, how?

The palindromedary finds it curious that someone would think mortality would spare one from grief.

Just think, you live forever and you know that others will die, especially after your first set of friends die, then you have less and less friends until you eventually become an anti-social. Eventually, you will be the last human on the planet. This makes you have so much depression and grief that you aren't living life anymore. You are living in a nightmare.
