  1. Re: Your PC's DNPC? Warlock had his boss, city councilman Wilson Chen. He originally joined Chen as an aide to help his team (Seattle Guardians) defeat a Scarlet Moon coven and discovered that he liked the job and was good at it and thus stayed.
  2. Re: Teen superteam Thanks to everyone. Heres what I've got so far. The team will include Sai (from Teen Champions) Icicle (from Champions with a reworked backstory and drawbacks) and Pagan (Morningstar from the fourth edition sourcebook Ultimate Supermage reworked as described at the start of the Ultimate Mystic). The team will obviously suffer from the fact that it has no-one with technical skills but thats OK because they are not intended to be PC's. With regard to a mentor/leader I am toying with Black Mask from the Vibora Bay sourcebook. Comments, questions, criticism?
  3. Re: Teen superteam Pyre Archer, Lord Liaden thanks for the advice. With regard to the mentor thing I was thinking of using Chrysaor from the Ultimate Mystic. He would definitely be interested in fostering heroics and probably more blase about teenagers fighting crime than most superheros. However he definitely has some flaws which would hold the team back most notably the fact that he's not very familiar with the law. The team are not currently intended to be PC's (although depending on feedback from potential players that may change). What I want from them is to act as sort of a backup to the main Seattle superteam (the PC's) but they can't be as powerful or competent (otherwise the players will wander why they can't just hand things over to them).
  4. Re: "Monkey Ninjas...ATTACK !!!" See the Jammers from Feng Shui for ideas. Altogether now; Blow stuff Up! Blow stuff up! Blow stuff up!
  5. Greetings all I'm trying to design a teen superteam for my upcoming game set in CU Seattle (they are not the player characters). Unfortunately I'm drawing a bit of a blank. I've moved Ravenswood from MC to Seattle and I want to make it part of the reason why Seattle has enough Superhuman activity to keep a setting going. What I need help with are some names and power suggestions. Maybe also an adult mentor (something in the vein of Young Justice). I'm toying with having a Ravenswood student as a member (he, she or it obviously keeps this secret from the faculty:sneaky: ). So what do you think?
  6. Just wanted to see what people thought a hero team in the Champions setting absolutely had to have, what was non-essential but useful and what the team could do without. This could be powers, skills or resources.
  7. Re: Contact cost I'd go with contact has extremely useful skills and resources (+3), Contact has significant contacts of his own (+1) probably character has a good relationship with contact (It mentions in MC that he gets along well with most people) (+1) so 7 points for a base 11- roll. Hope that helps.
  8. So I'm trying to set up a Champions game in Edinburgh. I've converted one of the most long running superhero settings I've ever played in (mostly just a matter of changing names) and come up with a way to get the previous PC team out the way while leaving their resources for the players (basically they've passed the torch and have gone off to pursue various dreams. A couple will remain on the team's reserve roster). The problem I've got is that I suspect at least some of my potential players will have no experience with Champions or the hero system. Does anyone have any advice particualrly regarding how to make character gen and learning the rules easier for them?
  9. Re: The Champion Protocols (ie how to take down your character) Warlock: Anything that could do a mass dispel/drain/supress on magic and still get through a decent power defence since every one of his powers depends on magic. Going technological you could try combat robots with some serious defence and armaments.
  10. Re: Battle of Detroit Dead List? The only ones I've been able to find in published Champions products are: Icestar Vigil Goblin Tiger (Sentinels leader) Shadowboxer: Killed by Glacier (character sheet in MC sourcebook) Vanguard: Flying Brick (died in orbit) Flechette 2 Crusher Its also a bit unclear how many heroes died. Champions Universe says nearly 50. Millennium City says about two dozen. As far as I'm aware there is no detail on any deceased heroes powers from this. Maybe something to ask for in Champions Universe 2.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Boston Guardians (from about 5 years ago) Context: a demon has just come rampaging into Guardians HQ Demon:Wizard!! Your soul is mine!! Hi-Kick:Warlock, Its for you. Warlock (on seeing this enormous demon): Warlock's not in right now. If you leave a message he'll get back to you. Context: Warlock is meditating and two of the other Guardians come in and find him. Geomancer: What's he doing? Hi-Kick: Either uncovering the mysteries of the universe or trying to find his lost car keys again.
  12. I'm trying to convert the Champion of Light archgetype from the mutants and masterminds game (in the Freedom City Archetypes & Legacies pack). It's all gone smoothly up until his healing power which only works on others e.g. he can't heal himself. How much do people think that is worth as a limitation on the power? The other powers are Calming influence: Mind control; area, only to induce certain emotional state e.g. calmness and possibly no range to signify its centered on the character. Flight and Force field: Pretty self explanatory Blast/ Dazzle: Energy Blast and Sight Group Flash. Possibly in a multipower. I was planning on applying OIHID to all his powers and maybe his stats as a way of signifying that he either needs to say a magic word or recite an oath. Finally could anyone suggest the drawbacks that a legacy hero like this might need to take. Thanks Birthdays are good for you. Statistics prove that the people who have the most live the longest. 13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Have only played Champions once so don't really have a good supply of quotes. The funniest quote I can remember is from a Conspiracy X game. The PC team which I was a member of had just been deployed by helicopter onto the deck of a missing research vessel on Lake Superior in Michigan. Very creepy, Mary Celeste style and the team leader orders the team to split up. When concerns are raised his response is "Best case scenario we find their (the other team members) nibbled on corpses. Worst case scenario their nibbled on corpses find us."
  14. Re: Searching for a game in the Edinburgh area Thanks for the tip SirViss, I'll do that.
