  1. Re: Character: Warrior Princess Mihrimah

Out of curiosity' date=' what don't you like about it?[/quote']

You know, all that would be needed on her is . . . A "campaign use" section (assuming you don't intend for her to be a Player Character), including:

    • What might cause her to "hunt" another character (assuming some poor fool wanted to take that disad).
    • A couple ideas on how the PCs might end up interracting with her.
    • And, a couple story seeds might be nice. :)

  2. Re: Getting the heroes together (the first time)

I know it is a lot of work, but you might try this . . .

Send each of them a short intro story featuring their character.

    • In each story give them their own thread that leads them into the main story.
    • Also have that thread lead them eather to meet all at once - at the start of the live session or have them meet as two or three small sub-groupings at the start of the first session.

This has the advantages that each character will have something to bring to the table, it gets the players involved in the story very quickly, and may even get them a head start on role-playing. ;)

  3. Re: 4d6 Major Transform: d20 Gamer to Hero Gamer!

When teaching people new to RPGs or running a game for people who generally play The Game Which Shall Not Be Mentioned' date=' I frequently have the problem of players randomly selecting Skills/Powers that 'look kewl'. While unrelated abilities can be fun, when taken to an extreme, it kills my immersion. So I would suggest making sure they have a strong concept before you even mention Hero Designer.[/quote']

CourtFool, do not fear to say the words "d20" or "Dungeons & Dragons 3.5"? The word are powerless! :P

But, let me commit heresy: d20 is not a "bad" game system. My real anger with WoTC is with the "3.5" part, not the system itself.

True, Hero > d20 which is why I wish to bring my current playing group to that system. (I mentioned in another thread that I was "forced" to run Conan d20 for my current group.) :)

While I do have Hero Designer, you are right, creating their characters for them - at lest initially. Once they are familiar with how well Hero actually plays (without the cumbersome rules of d20), then I shall try exposing them to some of the optons for d20.

  4. Re: Rope

How ever many it is, the small pistols go to the left of the place setting. :doi:

    or ...

Spoons would have higher DCs "because they hurt more." :idjit:

    "There is no spoon."

  5. Re: Rope

Sounds like I should look at a Multipower with all of these abilities in it.

Otherwise, if only one was available (like someone putting it into a utility belt MP), I think that the stretching would work.

  6. Here is a strange question - especially from a player of champions since 3rd Edition.

How would you model ordinary rope in Champions?

It is a problem that can be avoided in a heroic game, but if a player wanted to include it amoung his/her equipment, what would be the best power or combination of powers to simulate all the many things a good rope can be used for?
