Argonaut's Achievements

  1. Re: CHAMPIONS OF THE NORTH -- What Would You Like To See? As a Canucklehead I am very pleased to see a sourcebook for Canada. When creating a Canadian sourcebook there are a few things that should probably be at least touched on in some detail. Canad's Four best areas for Superhero city settings would probably be the big four. Ottawa (The Capital), Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Each of these city's offer a vibrant look at Canada with all its good and bad points. Also, when detailing law enforcement, I would love to see details on CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service), or our CIA if you will, and also remember that we do have our own highly trained special forces, like delta force, called simply JTF-2 (Joint Task Force). They are currently operating in Afganistan. With regards to Canada's policy on Supers, more than likely the Government would want to have a hand in controlling a sponsored team, as very quickly unsponsored heroes would become targetted by authorities. I would find it impossible to believe that the Canadian Government would idly sit back and let heroes who were untrained in law enforcement to operate on its streets. And an area of note, the municipality of Scarborough (a suburb of Toronto), has the highest murder rate in Canada. There are more gangs in that area than anywhere else in Canada, and two years ago, the LAPD Gang Task Force came up to train the RCMP and local authorities on how to deal with gangs. Anyway, those are just some thoughts.
  2. For me, bricks have always been my favourite because as a child I was amazed by people like Arnold and playing a brick allowed me to go beyond the limits of my physical self. Plus, I work out fanatically every day and to play a brick is something that i can relate to.
  3. My character, Lifeline, a brick with the powers of regeneration and healing others, could be played by Vin Diesel.
  4. This is an idea have been working on, combining many different aspects f other sci-fi games, and forming it all nt a supers campaign in space. I might turn this into a PBEM, so if anyone has some helpful suggestions, images, or just wants to contribute lemme know. Red Storm Rising In the late 21st Century, humanity stood upon the brink of oblivion. The world superpowers were fast moving towards war with one another, as political and economic tensions grew. As tensions flared, a movement of millions of citizens throughout the world sprung up nearly over night. At first in Internet and media campaigns, and then in acts of open protest and sabotage, tens of millions of people throughout the first and second world nations, moved to effect drastic change in their countries. By 2098, many of the world governments had been overthrown by the people themselves and a new, unified world power emerged. The Human Commonwealth, was formed from the ashes of many of the superpowers, and followed many of the mandates of the United Nations. What followed was a period of unbridled prosperity and growth for the human race. By 2113, the Human Commonwealth had begun a massive movement to colonize beyond the Earth and repair the damage that had been done to the planet. Hundreds of the world’s most brilliant minds gathered together in Geneva, resulting in astounding breakthroughs in technology and science. By mid-2117, these scientists under the auspice of the Human Commonwealth presented their solutions and within two years, Humanity had reached beyond the Earth and established the first truly self-sufficient off-world colony on the Moon. But travel beyond our solar system was still an impossibility. Until the day the Quantum gates were discovered. While traveling along the trade route between Mars and Earth, a transport shuttle called the Nostradameus encountered some very strange energy readings on their sensors. Upon closer examination, the crew was startled to find a shimmering, monstrous metallic disk floating in space. This disk-like object was so large that a small fleet of ships would be able to safely travel through its center. All along its outer edge, strange glyph like carvings and writing could be made out, some of which was glowing, and there appeared to be windows in the object, as if the disk were some sort of floating space station. The crew quickly reported their findings, and a team of the Commonwealth’s best scientists were immediately sent to examine and investigate the spatial phenomena. It was soon discovered that the disk was itself, not only some form of ancient alien space station, it was also a gateway of sorts. The scientific team surmised that the aliens who created the gate, used t and others like it to fold space-time, allowing them to travel quickly and safely throughout the galaxy and perhaps beyond. The scientists named the gateway, a Quantum Gate. The study of this gate and its uses would last nearly 300 years. Before the Human Commonwealth was able to experiment with sending a probe through the gate, the Sol System was instead visited by another race, which was using the same gate. As the scientists prepared their probe, the gate seemed to activate itself, opening a bright vortex of light through which, a fleet of alien craft emerged. The beings aboard these craft would come to be humanities greatest friends, and deadliest foes. During the first years of contact with this race, that become known as the Drakkha, the invaders, posing as helpless refugees, infiltrated all levels of business and government throughout Human space. Heir secret plan was to discredit or eliminate all the natural leaders and innovators of the Human race in order to weaken any potential future rebellion. Although they failed at preventing the Terran backlash against them, they did succeed in weakening the structure of the Human Commonwealth. When fighting began, most Commonwealth agencies were nothing more than shells, which quickly cracked under the demands of the War. The resistance groups, remnants of Commonwealth and national armies, and militias formed during the initial phase of bloodshed slowly knit into a network of loosely organized units. Eventually, a central command to coordinate their actions formed in the remote mountains of New Mexico. Known simply as “Earth Centralâ€, this institution grew in power as the Humans gained local victories over the Drakkha. With the deployment of millions of the Drakkha’s elite shocktroops, the K’Lok all over the planet, the fighting became fiercer, and the need for Earth Central grew with it. Utilizing captured Drakkha technology, Earth Central managed to turn the tide of the battle, establishing a fleet of fighters able to meet the Drakkha in space combat as well as on the surface of the planet. Their successes were enough to drive the Drakkha off Earth, where Fleet forces took the battle to the very Quantum Gate that had unleashed the terror in the first place. The Drakkha punitive fleet that returned through the Quantum Gate would have completely broken the power of Earth Central, assuring the enslavement of humanity. If not for the events that followed, humanity would surely have been doomed. Somehow, during a fierce battle nearby the Quantum Gate, a lone human fighter was catapulted through the gateway when its engines were damaged. The energies of the Quantum Gate itself must have triggered a mutation in the pilot because what emerged from the gateway was not the fighter, but the pilot himself. The human somehow was able to withstand the pressures of space, and not only this, but he was able to literally obliterate the Drakkha fleet. In a matter of a few short hours, the tide of battle was turned and humanity was free of the Drakkha. The Drakkha withdrew their remaining ships to the other side of the gateway, leaving a crippled humanity to pick up the pieces. The man who was responsible for the defeat of the Drakkha and their forces was Major William Tyson, who became known as Willforce. A being of virtual godlike power, whose very thoughts could shape reality to his wishes. He helped rebuild the shattered remains of the Earth and its colonies, supporting the formation of a new human government, the Terran Concordat. Willforce also helped establish the defensive wing of the Terran Concordat, Fleet. With this done, he announced that he would be leaving human space, intending to trace the Drakkha back to their homeworld and ensure that they would never again threaten humanity. He was never heard from again. In the ensuing years, more humans were born with powers and abilities that set them far beyond the level of normal humans. These beings were the direct result of their parents’ exposure to the energies of the Quantum Gates. Some humans seemed to possess a gene that was susceptible to the quantum energies, causing random mutations, and in many instances creating superhumans. These beings became known as Primes. In late 2703, humanity was again poised upon the brink of Armageddon. The number of Primes had increased dramatically and instances of Prime related crime had increased alongside their numbers. While many Primes chose to serve humanity and the Concordat, many more chose to go their own way, carving small kingdoms out for themselves and eliminating any who sought to stop them. Whole colonies were destroyed in battles between Primes and Fleet, or even amongst one another. On October 11th, 2703, the Prime War erupted throughout the Sol System, plunging humanity into more than one hundred bloody years of anarchy and war. During this time, the Concordat was virtually wiped out, Fleet itself was forced into adopting a hit-and-run style of defense against any Prime threats, and many of the colonies were forced to pay homage to Prime dictators and warlords. For over a century, the Prime War raged throughout the solar system. A new Dark Age had enveloped humanity until the day that the Sentinels took the fight to the warlords. A force of several of the most powerful rimes banded together, and, with the aid of Fleet, managed to bring the fight to the colonies and even all the way to Earth itself. It was a hard won fight, and many were lost along the way, but in the end, the warlords were defeated or on the run, the colonies were liberated, and humanity was once again unified under a guiding force, simply known as the Commonwealth. By 3044, the Commonwealth and human space were well on their way to healing the old wounds. Travel near the Quantum Gate was strictly regulated and controlled so as to reduce the amount of Prime births, and Fleet was stringer than ever before. The Primes who chose to serve as humanity’s guardians were absorbed into the infrastructure of Fleet and the Commonwealth, forming an elite body of Fleet known as Section. Section was given broad and far-reaching powers of authority, and in the time since has become an integral part of the Commonwealth. The Draal When the Drakkha were defeated by Willforce, many of their ships were left crippled and abandoned. Upon examination of these ships, Fleet made a most remarkable discovery. Aboard a large Drakkha vessel, the Fleet boarding party was approached by members of a race calling themselves the Draal. The Draal claimed to have been slaves of the Drakkha, who used their knowledge and understanding to help navigate throughout space. The Draal communicated by using telepathy, and in return for their liberation, they offered to help humanity rebuild after the War, adding their knowledge of Drakkha and their own technology to that of Fleet. Within a few years, the Draal ambassadors had helped pushed humanity’s understanding of technology and the universe lightyears beyond where the were. An Overview of the Commonwealth The Commonwealth is the binding force that holds humanity together throughout the Solar System. A guiding force that manages all aspects of interstellar government and trade, as well as providing security t the entirety of human space, the Commonwealth is made up of representatives of all the colonies and Earth itself. Its headquarters is based in Geneva for historic reasons, and its beginnings and foundations lay in the formation of the United Nations, thousands of years before. The Commonwealth is led by the elected First Speaker, who oversees the Senate, and whose authority is largely unchallenged throughout human space. While the Senate does take a hand in governing the colonies, this is more in regards to trade and seeking peaceful solutions to any disputes between planetary or colonial parties. The Commonwealth’s main agenda, is the security of the Human Race, and to this end, it is empowered to do just about anything. For the most part however, the various planetary and colonial governments are left to govern themselves. The Commonwealth maintains embassies on all the major colonies, and throughout the planets of the Solar System, and has countless subdivisions and agencies that work under its auspice. In Geneva, spacious quarters and living arrangements have been made for all the various visitors and ambassadors as well as the senators who represent their peoples. The Commonwealth has worked tirelessly to repair the damage done during the Drakkha invasion. Striving to bring humanity forward into the future, and to a large degree, it has been very successful. But as with all political bodies, once the organization grows larger and larger, corruption and internal struggles are bound to happen. Today, the Commonwealth is slipping into a steady decline, as the colonies and planetary governments vie for ever greater control and independence, and the megacorps exert more influence on government policy and procedure. The Commonwealth is slowly crumbling from within, and it is only a matter of time before tensions flare. Geneva – Seat of the Commonwealth The Geneva of 3113 is a far different one from that of the early 21st Century. Monolithic skyscrapers soar into its skies, obscuring the view of the sun, while aerodynes race along the spaces between buildings, taking their passengers throughout the city. It is the center of the human world, and the seat of the Commonwealth’s power. Geneva is not only the seat of power for the Commonwealth, but a major center of trade, culture and commerce. Almost every major colonial or planetary government that make up human space have embassies located in Geneva, as well as corporate headquarters for some of the largest interplanetary conglomerates.
  5. Does anyone have good images of the NM Champions team?

    Sprawl Map?

I have the Night City sourcebook and it is really useful especially with creating that cyberpunk feel. Lots of sprawl maps and such. i beieve you can download a copy of the downtown map off of one of te Aberrant-cyberpunk sites. You'd have to do a search for it, but if i remember correctly it was a pretty cool pic.
  7. Thanks man. I am still unsure whether or not I would post in on the web, or use it for my own table-top documents and make a source book of my own. If there were a problem, I would simply not use these images on the web, but I'd still like them.
  8. I am currently making a campaign for my players, and was hoping to design a webpage for it. The game would be set in Millenium City and I was hoping that someone out there would have scanned images from the Millenium City sourcebook, so I could copy them and use them on the site. Also, if anyone else knows where I could find some great comicbook city images, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
  9. I was wondering if anyone can help me find some new and amaing character pictures. specifically I was hoping to find images of the New Millenium Champions and anything else that is really cool. Wish I were an artist but I am sure you know what it's like!
