  1. Cool. There are 5 Masonic buildings in the Pittsburgh area, plus the one that was sold to Pitt and now is home to a number of university departments. Theere are also a number of other such buildings in the area that would serve the same purpose.
  2. While college-age heroes are the default setting for this book, junior and senior high school students are possible. A GM deciding to do so will have to create the school from the information on the Pittsburgh Public Schools website.
  3. Three more NPCs. Sharon Ten Bears and Donna Gray, who were on the Stage Crew while Rob and Tabitha were in high school, are Pitt students. Sharon, who has been to Space Camp, is, like her parents, a member of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh (AAAP), is studying Astronomy, and is on the Theater Department Stage Crew. She often wears her Space Camp flight suit to star parties at the Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Park and the Mingo Creek Park Observatory in Mingo Creek Park. Donna is a Technical Theater student and on the Theater Department Stage Crew. Barbara Gray is a classroom engineer with the Engineering Department of Pitt’s Center for Teaching and Learning. Her red hair, the navy blue flight suit she always wears, and the three gear bags she has make her easy to recognize as she does classroom technical inspections.
  4. Instead of Point Park University, they're going to be at the University of Pittsburgh, where I worked for 28-years before retiring at the end of June in 2016 at age 66.
  5. This could be done at Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse. The complex features three public performance spaces; the 560 seat PNC Theatre, the 200 seat Highmark Studio Theatre, and the 99 seat Rauh Theatre. Other possible theatres are in the city's Cultural District along Penn and Liberty avenues on the Allegheny River which includes numerous theaters, galleries, and concert halls including Heinz Hall, Byham Theater, O’Reilly Theater, Benedum Center, and Wood Street Galleries as well as restaurants and housing.
  6. That's the plan. Right now, Lady Heart and Sunspell are students at Pittsburgh's Point Park University.
  7. Good points, Scott. Which war were you referring to?
  8. In the Pittsburgh campaign under discussion, there is at least one adult hero, a mystic whose power has waned and has health issues. There are also street-level, non-superpowered bad guys and former bad guys.
  9. Cordelia and Donna have been friends since childhood and are both in the local National League of Junior Cotillions® chapter. (In real life, they don't have any chapters in Pennsylvania.) Her dislike of her comes from two things. The first is that she's a member of the "wrong" clique. The second is that she usually doesn't dress to impress.
  10. True. They might think that Sunspell’s golden talismanic ring, set with a topaz, has a Godstone.
  11. Sunspell doesn't have one. She inherited her powers from the previous Sunspell, her maternal grandmother, who trained her and continues to do so.
  12. Mercedes Kendall is based on Harmony Kendal from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Buffyverse wiki says about Harmony, “Beyond her shallow yet perky personality, Harmony’s defining characteristic, from her high school years up to her employment at Wolfram & Hart, was that she always tried to associate herself with what she perceived to be the most powerful and/or popular (Cordelia, Spike, Angel Investigations, Doug Sanders, Wolfram & Hart) in order to ensure her own social status and, later on, survival.”
  13. More All Right Ranch characters. Joyce Adams is a counselor on All Right Ranch. She rides Marigold, a palomino American Quarter Horse mare. Peggy is a young teen with social anxiety problems on All Right Ranch. Something of a nerd, she has thick glasses and claims that she can’t see without them. She rides Strawberry, a bay American Quarter Horse mare. Annette is a young teen with social anxiety problems on All Right Ranch. She rides Jumper, a pinto American Quarter Horse mare.
  14. Lady Heart often teams up with Sunspell, whose Sun Bolt is the same as Sailor Venus' Venus Crescent Beam Smash, a 12D6 EB. She's actually Tabitha Jean Clark, a Jewish actress and dancer who knows theatrical makeup.
  15. Here are three more high school faculty members. Ms. Alicia Ames is an English teacher and the Drama Club faculty advisor/sponsor. She also directs the plays. Mrs. Jo Anne Forbes is an English teacher and the Drama Club wardrobe mistress. Mr, Kenny Anderson is the Metal Shop teacher and the Stage Crew faculty advisor/sponsor. He has a set of stage keys reserved for Mercedes Kendall. Here are two more students. Sandra "Sandy" Forbes is Jo Anne's daughter. She's on the Stage Crew and, being a skilled seamstress, assists her mother in wardrobe while plays are rehearsed or performed. Michelle Karpman is the A Orchestra concertmaster. Her violin is a Stradivarius that has been in her family since it was made.
  16. The school auditorium gets plenty of use. In addition to assemblies, Pubcom, the student council publicity committee meets on the stage apron to make posters and there are three study halls in it most class periods. There is also a Stage Crew member backstage each class period to keep an eye on things.
  17. Donna, who Cordy and friends call "Goth Girl" because of her dress, can be elegant when she wants to. In fact, she and Cordy have been members of the homecoming court, which has two princesses from each grade, since ninth grade. Donna and Sharon are willing to come in on weekends to give Stage Crew orientations to anyone who needs one because of an athletic practice. No surprise, both the Stage Crew and Drama Club sometimes rehearse on weekends. Maestra Jennifer Collingsworth, the orchestra teacher and conductor, is related to the President. It's generally believed that her teaching assistant is actually a Secret Service agent.
  18. The cheerleader coach is good-looking, in her mid-20s, and also the activities director. The football coach, Anthony Dunlap, named for two coaches I had in high school, is a good guy and the athletic director. The swimming coach for both teams is Ms. Mary Anne Kramer, named for my 4th grade homeroom teacher and a coach I met in high school. She is also the mermaid swimming class teacher. Before I forget, the mermaid class is open to mermen, too. Passing a swimming test is required for the beginners class (Try Mermaid). Having a Try Mermaid card is required for the advanced class (Ocean Mermaid). I like the ideas about the History and Science teachers. Edit: The cheerleader coach/activities director is Carol Roth. Matt Reese is her student assistant. They serve as master and mistress of ceremonies for the Homecoming Coronation Dance.
  19. Yes to both, along with the Chess Club. The theater clubs are the Drama Club, who put on two plays per school year, and the Stage Crew.
  20. Dancer is actually Karen's pet. Karen just likes to mess with the minds of the animal rights folks. It's up to the GM if she has a mental link with her pony.
  21. Cordy and her crew are cheerleaders. They're not listed in any order. However, Mercedes is her best friend. There are five levels of both Choir and Orchestra with A level being the highest, and the ones that perform for the school. The Glee Club members are in the A Choir.
  22. Robert rides a white American Quarter Horse mare named Snowball, Snowflake, Snowy, or something like that. Probably the only pre-teen there is Karen, the owner’s 9-year-old daughter, who is in a wheelchair because she suffers from a mild form of congenital muscular dystrophy. She owns and rides Dancer, a pinto American Shetland Pony mare. Karen Parker, who plays her, actually has that medical condition and actually owns Dancer. She’s stated, “Dancer isn’t my pet pony, I’m her pet human.”
  23. True, but they could give us some ideas.
  24. There are a lot of Spin and Marty episodes on Youtube.
  25. While classes go from 7:15AM to 2:15PM, the school opens at 6:45AM. Students can eat breakfast there for free, but staff and faculty have to pay. After classes, the school is still busy. Clubs meet after school, athletic teams practice after school, and the pool is open for three hours after school and all day on weekends and during the summer, swim meets, swim team practices, and mermaid swimming classes excluded. Cordelia and her friends, Mercedes Kendall, a real twit, Gwen Winnicki, and Katherine Chester, whose nicknames are “Kate”, “Katie”, and “Kat-woman”, love to call the school choir, Drama Club, orchestra, and Stage Crew “geeks”. One favorite target is Donna Gray, an African-American member of the Stage Crew, and a skilled draftsman, who likes to dress in black, standard stagehand garb, and, due to an to a severe allergy to nickel alloys that cause rashes, always wears gloves. The school principal tolerates, to a certain extent, the name calling. When it gets out of hand, he assigns the offender to work as part of the Stage Crew until the next big production is over. For the first time, they will get a tech pack, a tour of the auditorium from one of the Stage Crew, and a set of stage keys that must be returned. Mercedes, to quote her, “Puts my foot in my mouth,” and often gets assigned to the crew.
