  1. Re: PRIMUS Supers "Okey," Christine said."Does this mean that there are cheerleaders inside?" "Probably." "Figures. Let's go inside." They entered, searched, took photos and left. "Where to now?" "The community center," April suggested. "Agreed." They walked through the building's parking lot and saw cars with New York license plates. Upon entering, they spotted a cork board with a building map and an event schedule. "There's a wellness fair in the Assembly Room, a flu shot clinic in the Conference Room and, at different times, three belly dancing classes in the Youth Center. The pool, gymnasium and game room are still open." "Time to take pictures and then go to the dental clinic," April said. "More women in white uniforms," Christine said. "Yep. They didn't wear scrubs back then."
  2. Re: PRIMUS Supers "Interesting. Let's look around." "Yeah," April said. In addition to bodies, they found a swimming pool, sauna and a hot tub. "Did you notice that the stewardesses all wore gloves?" "I did. They weren't white, like in the movies," April replied. "I don't even know if they keep them on all the time. "They do in our reality," Christine said. "My grandmother was a stewardess in the early 60s. According to her, she always kept her gloves on while flying. She also told me that they only wore white gloves for publicity, promotion and advertising photos. Otherwise, they wore black gloves." "I see. Let's look at the motel's restaurant, then check out the community center." "Agreed." When they got to the restaurant, they noticed a colorfully-decorated van. "Cheerleaders?" Christine asked. "Looks that way. I'll pick the lock and we'll look around." "What do you expect to find, April?" "Pom-poms." They found them.
  3. Re: PRIMUS Supers Christine sat the Girl Scout up and April took a photo, then they continued their tour, taking photos as they went. When they finished, they left and looked the area over. "The road makes a curve at each end and gos downhill," Christine said. "I noticed that, too," April copmmented. "Did you see what's behind the buildings and the cemetary?" "Cliffs," Christine replied. "They look at least 100-feet high." "Yeah. Let's continue." They came to a cross street and saw traffic lights. "Christine, the road goes through tunnels. We should examine them later." "Yeah." They walked to a bus in front of the motel. "Texas plates," Christine commented. "This bus is an airport sghuttle." "It's passengers are travelers, stewardesses or both." "I know." It was both. After checking the bus over, they went into the motel office and found a newspaper. "A meteor was spotted in the atmosphere," April said. "Scientists predicted that it would hit in the California desert."
  4. Re: PRIMUS Supers Edits have been done to correct errors and typos and remove nunecessary stuff.
  5. Re: PRIMUS Supers "Blood drive's in the Fellowship Hall," April said, pointing to a sign. "Saw it." "According to this, Jen, the church custodian, is an honorary member of the choir and their mascot. Apparently, she was in her high school choir and sings country-western songs at church functions. It also states that she's too busy to be a full member of the choir." "Nice. Anything on the Girl Scouts?" "Still looking. Here it is. THe church sponsors a Brownie troup, an Intermediate troop and a Secior troop." She then read the troop numbers off. "This young lady is in the church's Intermediate troop, April." "The girls have weekly meetings in the basement classrooms and can volunteer for up to five hours a week working for the church. The girls have to be in uniform and those serving as ushers or guides have to be gloved." "Okey. Besides the blood drive, people who qualify can get free groceries here and have their blood pressure checked by student nurses from a local university. I have a list of the qualifications for free food here."
  6. Re: PRIMUS Supers "This is a beautiful building," Christine said. "The lines are timeless." "It's Central Free Methodist Church of Lancing, Michigan and it's beautiful inside, too," April said. "I came here with some team mates that wanted to attend services here before a meet." They entered and noticed a uniformed woman slumped over a wooden desk. "Intermediate Girl Scout," Christine said. "My mother and I were both in Girl Scouts and I modeled one of her uniforms for a program on the history of Girl Scouts." "She's wearing gloves and the armband on her left arm identifies her as a church guide. I'm going to look at the announcements there," April said, pointing to the wall display, "and see what I can find out." "Fine. I'll see what I can find out from the papers on her desk."
  7. Re: PRIMUS Supers "I wonder if there's a wedding going on at the church," Christine said. "I dopubt it," April said. "There's a truck from the blood bank in the church parking lot." "A blood drive means more nurses." "Yeah, but this church isn't from Florida. It's from Michigan. I think some higher power brought these buildings here from a world where all life died out in 1960." "Yeah, you could be right. Getting any interesting photos?" "Yep."
  8. Re: PRIMUS Supers Now that I think more about it, the answer is no. The area we're in now is only part of Route 666. Have you ever heard of campaigns where a rift appears and people, vehicles, buildings, and other things are transported to another reality? That's the idea here, only all life has died out on the worlds the objects were taken from and they're placed along the sides of Route 666, a 40-mile road with straight sections, like we're at, curves and downhill switchbacks. The heroes can use it for living quarters, training, and a sorce of disguises.
  9. Re: Another Bat-ty Campaign Idea I just corrected some spelling errors and fixed a few sentences.
  10. Re: PRIMUS Supers Only if I can fit them in. Any ideas on how to do that?
  11. Re: PRIMUS Supers I rewrote the end of the previous thread to fit a slightly devious idea I have in mind. It might turn into a thread to be named Route 666. We now return to April and Christine. The two women entered the doctor's office and looked around. All the magazines and newspapers showed that the year was 1960 and the newspapers were Miami's. "Let's search this place," Christine said. "Lead the way." Their first stop was the receptionist's office. Spotting a body, Christine asked, "Is she a nurse? She's wearing a white lab coat over a white uniform as well as white shoes and stockings and a cap." "Medical assistant," April replied, looking at the woman's name tag. "At one tome, medical and dental assistants wore caps, just like registered nurses, practical nurses and dental hygienists." "I didn't know that," Christine said. Of the seven other white-uniformed women in the office, four, three nurses and a second medical assistant, wore caps. The other three, a lab technician, an X-ray technician and an audiologist, didn't. "We're through here," Christine said. "To the church next?" "Sure."
  12. Re: PRIMUS Supers They emerged on a bus. "April?" "Yes, Christine?" "This bus is filled with Islamic women." "From Chicago, Illinois in 1960," April said, holding up a newspaper. It was on the floor." "Oh." They left the bus and examined it. The bus had Illinois plates and belonged to Chicago's Islamic Center. "We have a full moon tonight," April commented. "That's good for sneaking around." "Yeah." They looked to their left and saw a cemetery. On the right were a medical office, a church, a motel, a dental office and a community center. "Let's start with the medical office." "No problem," April said. As they walked to medical office, she glanced at the cars' plates and said, "Christine, the cars are from Florida." "You're right," Christine said, looking at the cars. "Let's search the office." "Right."
  13. Re: Another Bat-ty Campaign Idea Last time, we were in Bristol Township. This time, we're going northwest of the city, near Eagle Air Force Base and Sommerset Township. Gotham Raceway is located here. It's a 5/8-mile, limestone-surfaced harness track. The parade marshall's leopard appalossa (white with dark spots all over) horses wear Western tack and she wears Western clothes. The buglar is a recording. A hotel is beside the track and a shopping center (strip mall) is beside it. Next to these is the Gotham Horse Arena and Rodeo Grounds. Both Western and English riding clothes are welcome. Gotham Motor Speedway is here, too. It's a 2.5-mile Indy-style oval with a 3.194-mile road course that has two shortcuts inside the oval. With shortcut one in use, the track is 2.940-miles long. With shortcut two in use, the track's 2.980-miles long. With both shortcuts in use, the track's 2.700-miles long. The track's official pace car is a Ford Mustang Cobra and the official pace car of the Southerrn New Jersey Region of the Sports Car Club of America is a Corvette.
  14. Re: Another Bat-ty Campaign Idea Let's visit Bristol Township, which is north of Gotham City and look at the added stuff. Gotham Downs is the areas's thoroughbred track. It has a 7/8-mile (7 furlong) grass track inside a 1-mile (8-furlong) dirt track. The parade marshall's horses are white Arabians wearing English tack and she wears English riding clothes. The buglar, called a horn blower because he sounds the post parade bugle call (The Call to Arms from The Symphonic Arrangement of the Tales of Hoffman) on a coach horn dresses, according to some people, like a circus ringmaster. Next to the track is a resort hotel. Beside the hotel is Gotham Park, a greyhound track. A large shopping mall separates it from the Gotham Hunt Club Arena, which has an outdoor steepelchace course and requires all competators to wear English riding clothes.
  15. Re: PRIMUS Supers "What kind?" Beth asked. "Two kinds," April replied. "One is the kuji-kiri, or nine ways cutting." "As I recall, it uses finger positions and concentration to direct your energy," Terry said. "Right," April said. "The second is The Path of the Shadow's Companion. It let's me manipulate darkness and shadows." "What can you do with it?" Christine asked. "I can create a blade of dark energy that can be blocked, but not removed, make myself or the local area devoid of sound, fight in darkness without didiculty, gather shadows myself, prevent someone from seeing, if I hit them, and use the darkness to strengthen my attack." "We need to see this in action," Terry said. "If it works the way you say it does, I'd like to use you as a training opponent for someof our agents." "Assault or intelligence?" April asked. "Both," Terry replied. "You two ready to go through the portal?" "Yes," April replied. "Me, too," Christine replied. "Go," Terry said. As they left, she called out, "Good luck." 16. Re: PRIMUS Supers "No problem," April replied. "The mini-Wolf's Ears use bone-conduction to let us hear noises. The hearing aid-like things in our left ears are receivers for a contact mic/transmitter that has a range of five feet. Although they canbe used to listen through doors, burglars use them to listen to safe tumblers. Comm links are on the right side. The throat mic/transmitters have a range of three feet and transmit only when we subvocalize. A receiver in our webbing picks the signal up and feeds it to voice distorters that have been adjusted to make us sound alike. The goggles let us see infrared light used in some security systems and weapon sights and protect our night vision. The lights on our heads have red LEDs in them." "Beside our pistols and hunting knives, our webbing has lockpicks, security system analyzers, multi-tools and various kinds of darts," Christine said. "I'm also carrying more burglar tools while April's carrying ninja weapons." "My gloves have retractable claws and my bracers carry more equipment," April added. "The right one has a swing line that can also be used for climbing while the left one has a stunner, knockout gas and flash pellets and mini-bolos." "Impressive," Terry said. "Yeah, and a bit scarey," Beth added. "There's more," April said. "I also know ninja magic."
  17. Re: PRIMUS Supers They then reached in, pulled out and put other gear on. Finally, they pulled tinted gogles on. They were fololowed by what looked ski masks without mouth holes and red-lensed lights were strapped to their heads. Web gear and black gloves followed. April then added bracers, then both women pulled leather jackets on. "Want to tell us about your gear?" Terry asked.
  18. Re: PRIMUS Supers Black-clad PRIMUS Intelligence Agents April Curtis and Christine Hunter left the conference room tpgether. Following Christine's advice, both wore snug-fitting black jumpsuits, cambat boots and blue nitrile gloves. "Interesting choice," Silvrer Avenger Terry Kestler commented, pointing to the disposable gloves. "Some burglars now wear latex gloves because they get the freedom of an ungloved hand without leaving fingerprints behind. Since I get a rash from latex gloves, I have to use nirtile ones." "Understood," Terry said. "You two going to be masked?" Intelligence Agent Beth Davies asked as the group entered the break room. "Of course," Christine replied as the two black-clad women put duffle bags on a table, reached in, pulled things out and put themin their ears. "These are miniature versions of Wolf's Ears," April said. "Hunters use the big ones while tracking game. "They'll amplify soft noises while protecting the ears from loud ones." "Nice," Beth said.
  19. Re: PRIMUS Supers A few notes from Washington, D.C. Henry Hayes is the President of the United States. He's easy to work for, likes PRIMUS, enjoys watching hockey games and played it in his youth. Gloria Valdez is the Vice President. To keep their daughter, Elena, out of the spotlight, she and her husband, Michael, decided that she should stay with her mother. Evelyn Baker Long is Chief Justice of the United States and Presiding Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Agent Alex McGregor heads the Executive Protection division of the United States Secret Service. She's willing to work with superheroes, as long as they're either sanctioned or employed by a government agency and willing to follow her orders. Occasionally, she asks her husband, Grant Coleman, a former Colorado river guide who now owns a company specializing in corporate adventures, for assistance.
  20. Re: Mystical Voltron-Inspired Powered Armor Just a couple of quick notes. Although the powered armor suit looks like it's made of a hard metal, it flexes as its wearer does. The lady wearing it insists that it's as formfiting and comfortable as spandex.
  21. Re: PRIMUS Supers The corner of Bigelow Boulevard and Parkman Avenue is home to a new version of Pittsburgh's old Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science. The old Zeiss Mark II planetarium projector, nicknamed Jake, has been refirbished and once again works perfectly. The old 10-inch Siderostat te;escope is in use, too, as are all the displ;ays in the gallaries. The club rooms and lecture hall have up to date audio/visual equipment in them as well. A new ice arena is going up in the Strip District. This one has two rinks, one for ice hockey and the other for figure skating. Some officials in the Pittsburgh Penguins told the owner that they wouldn't play there unless the team's demands were met. The arena owner told them what they could do with their offer.
  22. Re: Another Bat-ty Campaign Idea Don't worry. I haven't abandoned this thread. I've just been busy with others. I'll get back to it soon.
  23. Re: Mystical Voltron-Inspired Powered Armor Good ideas. She does have ranged attacks. The electroforce cross (from the chest) either TK, only to push away or an energy beam that does knockback, eye beams, equal in power to a PRIMUS blaster rifle and can be set to stun, and solar stars/spinning laser blades, damage is that of a shuriken. The transformation actually takes at least six seconds. The MF to lion form is possible, but it's hard on the knees and shoulders. I know, I tried that position myself. Of course, I have arthritis in those joints. If she doesn't she could stand it for a short time. As I recall, the command for the force wall was "Detatch Royal Shield".
  24. A young lady who iwas (and still is) a fan of Voltron: The Defender of the Universe and Voltron 3D, and who looks like Princess Allura in V3D, was out hiking in the mountains near her home when she found a glowing rock on the ground. As she picked it up, it popped and a liquid appeared on her hand before evaporating. That night, she had a dream that she was actually Voltron. When she awoke the next morning, she was in an armored costume that resembled the robot, but fit her perefectly. Wishing she was normal again, the suit vanished. She experimented, and discovered some of the abilities. The suit, however, couldn't morph into lion form because a human body isn't capable of holding that form very long. Here's what I came up with as a powers list: Instant transformation Boost to STR, DEX, SPD Enhansed vision, heading and radio sense groups Protected hearing, sight and radio sense groups Increased running speed flight armor, possibly backed by force fields protection from heat/cold, radiation, pressure, vacuum Blazing sword (hand and one half thrust and cut broadsword damage vs ED) Armor draws its power from cosmic rays, the solar wind and such forces Am I forgetting anything?
  25. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU It occurrs to me that some of the characters from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series could be good templates for characters. The Slayer is the attractive daughter of a wealthy family. she has long, dark hair, hangs out with the "popular" croud, and always makes sarcastic comments. This is all a mask. In truth, her parents are rarely at home and their housekeeper acts as her guardian. Her Watcher, who was assigned to her once the old council knew she was a Potential, is the school librarian. He wears tweed, is good at research, likes books, hates computers and wears glasses. The school nurse is a kind, middle-aged woman who currently wears light-blue scrubs. She joined the team, as its nurse, after being saved from a vampire. The computer hacker is a shy, redheaded Jewish girl. The resident witch is a blonde, eighth-generation guardian witch and cheerleader. Her mother, who is her mentor and teaches chemistry at the school, sometimes joins the team.
