I thought that he could talk to insects AND arachnids even though arachnids aren't insects. I could be wrong though. I was just trying to finish the issue as fast as I could and get it over with. Sometimes it doesn't fit what is portrayed in the comics/cartoons, but they do the best they can with the science that's available. I give it a serious recommendation for anyone into that sort of thing. (They didn't do a very good job of explaining that "formula" for human running speed, either, or which of the variables you could change to run at super speed.
