What is the Enclilopedia Dramatica (or ED, as I will now call it)? It is a book chuck full writeups for real world people for any real world Hero campain. Basicly, it is thye Digital Hero collem You Got To Have Charater on steroids. Would you be intrested in buying such a supliment?
Black Omega
Re: Enclilopedia Dramatica I'm a bit puzzled. Do you mean write ups of normals? Or write ups of real people like Roger Penrose, Britney Spears, and Michael Jordan?

Or write ups of real people like Roger Penrose' date=' Britney Spears, and Michael Jordan?[/quote'] Of real people. People who realy existed in the past and/or still exist now. People your heros are more likely to meet and talk to. Like, for a Western Hero campain, Jessie James. Or for a campain set in late 17th centery England, the Witchfinder General (a real slezebag, who had athority given by the people themselves to accuse inosent women of being witches, and to torcher them to death). Like I said in the intro, this should be the compaion piece to the Digital Hero pieces colectivly known as "You Got To Have Charater". SirViss
Re: Enclilopedia Dramatica There is nearly 30 "real" people that have been detailed in the Digital Hero "You Gotta Have Character" articles. All I ever heard of them are rave reviews. I read a few of them, and they are VERY good, informative, and can be useful in the right setting. Jason Walters does a really good in these. Check this one out.

BobGreenwade
Re: Enclilopedia Dramatica For most living people, and recently-deceased or highly-marketable media personalities (Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley being prime examples of the latter), you'd run into the rights of "image ownership." However, for certain others recent historical figures would have quite a bit of interest (as Jason's column demonstrates). Such a book should be devoted to a particular historical period, however, and geared to a specific genre line: 1950s-90s (Dark Champions), 1910s-40s (Pulp Hero), 1840s-90s (Western Hero), and so forth. Whether I personally would buy one of these books is a tough question, as I'm mostly interested in Star Hero right now.

Otherwise, I couldn't do my Anthony Newly impression without getting sued. Keith "Yeah that's right. Anthony Newly. Wanna make somethin' of it?" Curtis PS. BobGreenwade
Re: Enclilopedia Dramatica IANAL' date=' but I can't conceive but that this would fall under the fair use and parody laws.[/quote'] It's possible, and is probably the case with most living public figures. Some entertainment icons (such as the above mentioned) have their images trademarked. Overall, the direct use of a real person's image does fall into some grey area; for example, the cartoon series "The Real Ghostbusters" had to carefully draw the characters to not look like the actors from the movie for just this reason. Doing impressions of celebrities does, I'm sure, fall under the "parody" provisions (otherwise SNL would be off the air). Naturally: IANAL.
