WILL based END pools

Hello,

 

A question came up on another thread...

 

Is it possible to create an END Pool that represents WILL??

 

It is for a Green Lantern character. The idea was to create an END pool for the ring to draw from but have it generated by calculating using WILL.

 

I was also thinking of trying a "Rule of X" thing where no power can be greater than (WILL x ??)

I'm not entirely sure what your asking about? Do you mean a second END stat in the figured characteristics? That has been suggested before for Fantasy wizards

 

Magic END = INT + EGO or EGO*2 or INT*2

 

But for a super-heroic setting what I think fits best is

 

Will-Power: 200 END / 0 REC End Reserve

End Reserve sounds good to me too. Perhaps buy it so that the Recovery=the character's EGO, and the total END is EGO x whatever.

 

Example: Ego 30

 

End Reserve: Willpower - 210 END/30 REC

Perhaps an END reserve that requires an EGO roll, and the amount it is made by determines the END available for use at that time.

 

Example:

Multipower-Focused Will

1) 10d6 EB

2) 10/10 FW

3) 25" Flight

END Reserve (100) 5 Rec. RSR to access (-1/2?) Roll determines success level [1 END available per point made by](-1/2?)

 

Willpower Lad wants to shoot someone with his EB. He makes an EGO roll. Target is 14-. He rolls an 11. Making the roll by 3, he has 3 END to use on the EB, which will power a 6d6 shot.

Now Willpower Lad needs a FW. He rolls a 10, making it by 4. Every phase he keeps this wall up it will cost 4 END, but the max power of it is 8/8.

Finally, he needs to pursue Getaway Lass. He rolls a 15 on his flight activation and simply stands there in frustration. Next phase he musters his will and rolls an 8, giving him more than enough power to rocket after the villainess.

Do you mean "WILL" as the special effects for the END? Something like that can just be the justification/SFX for buying more END or an END Reserve.

 

However, the way you use the term WILL it seems that you intend WILL to be some sort of stat or characteristic of its own. If that is the case, I have no idea how you mean to adjucate such a thing because there is no such stat or charactertistic defined in the rules.

 

Sounds like an interesting concept though...

We of course need more details to figure out exactly what your concept is, but I might make it an End Reserve with RSR: Requires and Ego roll on its Recovery.
