Steve Long Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Obviously the new PH is going to have a section on the slang and colloquialisms of the period, just like JI did. After all, using the slang is just plain fun. Question: has anyone out there entered the slang from JI into a word processing program? If they have, I'd be interested in receiving a copy, since it would save me a helluva lot of retyping. I've already checked with Aaron Allston, who informs me it was written on a typewriter, so getting it from the original authors isn't possible. Any help would be much appreciated! There's lots of work to do on the book, so any saved time can be put to other uses. Quote
TheImperialKhan Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Re: Pulp Slang Tell you what, Steve. You get me a copy of the file of the the big Hudson City map that I can take to my local printer and I'll type up the slang list from JI as a word file over the weekend and send it to you by Monday morning? Whatta ya say, Pally? Quote

ArmlessTigerMan Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Re: Pulp Slang Pulp Era Slang http://www.armlesstigerman.com/intro/pulp/slang.html Ummm... yeah, I posted all the slang from JI, plus about ten words from other sources. You wants I should take it down? If you want, I'd be happy to scan the slang pages from JI and OCR it for you. Should I post it here or email it to you? Quote
Steve Long Posted April 28, 2005 Author Report Posted April 28, 2005 Re: Pulp Slang No, no, I didn't say a thing about anyone taking any pages down! I was just hoping someone had a text file of the JI slang to save me a little time. Copying from a website isn't nearly as efficient, but it's still quicker. If you have the text file already, or you don't mind taking the time to do that scan-and-email thing (to SteveL@herogames.com), that would be great. Quote
