Ternaugh
Re: Hieroglyphics... If you want to be able to identify the hieroglyphics, tell what dynasty the style is from, and, perhaps some of the history of the individual glyphs, then you want a KS: Hieroglyphics. If, however, you want to be able to read (and write) the language, you need the LS. I'd actually recommend both, since they'd be complementary. Lang: Ancient Egyptian with Literacy? KS: Hieroglyphics? Are you looking to make a character who reads and writes it like a literate native, or like an archeologist? Native: Language Skill + Literate Archeologist: Knowledge Skill

KS: Hieroglyphics? Actually, I would argue that you could have the language be Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics... Still trying to figure out how Daniel Jackson learned how to speak Ancient Egyption by translating hieroglyphs!!!
Vondy
Re: Hieroglyphics... In my games players may purchase "Dead Language: (Name)" for 2 pts. If they have linguist I let them buy them for one each, presuming they have some sort of supporting skills (i.e.: Archeology, Linguistics, Egyptology, Etc).
