Giant Hero...What do you all think?

Enforcer84

Recommended Posts

This guy is alot of points and at his largest is one of the most devistatingly powerful beings on the planet.

Unfortunately, he can't stay at his largest for very long.

In fact he's probably not nearly as efficient as he is powerful.

That's the goal anyway.

Re: Giant Hero...What do you all think?

Hank is the grandson of a somewhat famous Pulp Era adventurer, and his grandfather's stories fueled his desire to see the world and learn its history. He gained his powers in an encounter with an artifact known as the Torc of Atlas. Though in truth the Torc was actually made by beings older than the titans themselves.

Hank can operate easiest at his 4 meter height, there is precious little strain on him and he's a 50 str being. His defenses are a bit light though.

At 8 Meters he gains several new powers (the sight and toughness) but he starts losing a little end just for being that size. This is offset by the increased CON and endurance and rec it brings.

At 15.9 Meters he's starting to get the worst of it, his Extra STR is costing him more END as is his Size.

At 31.8m He is a powerhouse who begins to burn STUN for End on phase 12 of his first turn. This is for emergencies only.

Re: Giant Hero...What do you all think?

I like the skill set, the origin, and the size steps idea. Might make for an interesting NPC Hero, or a PC in a high power game.

I've always liked "Gets big and hits stuff" charaters. ;)

Well your Bonneyonne(Spelling) was inspiring. He's an NPC so having him be less than efficient is more palatable. :)

Re: Giant Hero...What do you all think?

I'm currently messing around with Bonyenne Maii to make him useable as a PC--nothing too drastic, but that 105 AP cow summons needs to go. Plus, retrofit a new personality to him and add more Disads. I still need to think about Babe, the big blue oxen, in a way that won't break a 60 AP limit.

Buy a Summons for an ordinary Ox at the Friendly level, then give the ordinary Ox Growth and a few related powers, plus PS:Growth Training to know when to use them. Phase 12 Paul summons Babe and orders her to grow, Phase 12 Babe recovers from being summonned, Phase 3 Babe activates her Growth and goes into action. Should be possible to bring Babe in as less than a 250 point creature, but she'll be a bit less powerful.

Re: Giant Hero...What do you all think?

Interesting. I am going to have to study over the power set a little in case I do anything like that in the future.

Hero Designer makes it easy to sort out the "Links"...he's modelled after the original Giant-Man, Hank Pym who suffered stress related illnesses at his greatest heights...

Here's a 250 point combat trained Babe. To summon her as "Freindly" costs 62 points. If that's too much, you could just use the normal Contest of Wills rule for Summons, or down-power her a bit more.

Re: Giant Hero...What do you all think?

He looks pretty good.

The one recommendation I'd make is that he actually have seperate powers, "Large Legs", "Huge Legs", "Enormous Legs", and "Gigantic Legs" and rather then have go up in equal intervals, have them go up in steps proportionate to his change in stride. So +6" for Large, +12" for Huge, +24" for Enormous, and +48" for "Titanic". Yes, that gives him 96" of running at his maximum height - about 4x his height - same as what he has at normal size.

Actually, she'd work--I'd alter the names a little bit to match the "wilder" aspects of Bonyenne Maii. I'm not incredibly concerned about chucking the pointage a slight bit higher, just as long as it can pass the GM radar.

Besides, I think this beastie can be ridden, if he needs to. After all, he's built to be slow--so having some calvary helps.
