Re: Need some Scandinavian Villains !

Granted, I'm looking through this rather fast, but there doesn't seem to be a Viking-themed person in there at all. Those guys went all over the world, very Scandinavian, and would work well as either a hero or villain.

Going with the more traditional Norwegian folk tales, you could easily have a mischievous character named nisse (a pixie) or huldra (a "wood nymph" according no my Norwegian-English dictionary).

Hope this helps

Actually my super strong Norwegian thug "The Berserker" is meant to be "viking themed". He wears a fur vest, leather trousers, cross tied boots, has long blond hair and a blond beard and carries a sledgehammer.

Re: Need some Scandinavian Villains !

An idea or three

breið-øx (broad axe) -- I don't think a list of powers is needed.

Shield - Mostly defensive powers... and at high levels

Glacier - A giant with ice powers

Fenris - shape change, teeth, strength and speed

Gokstad - dunno what powers should be. It just sounds like a good name.

ulfhednar - I think they're wolf-shirt berserkers or something like that

Lastly, the idea of both a hero and a villain named troll sounds like it has some good possiblilities.

Re: Need some Scandinavian Villains !

Thank you all for your assistance folks. Never let it be said that the "Hero" community isn't supportive ! Anyway here is what I eventually came up with (remember that these characters are not "costed" out, just briefly described.) To begin with I took "Thespian" (who I renamed "The Bard"),"Midnight Sun" and "Hoarfrost" from "European Enemies". Then I started adding a few more. "The Berserker" for example is a super strong thug with a sledgehammer and a "psuedo viking" look (fur vest etc, but NO horns on his helmet). "Doctor Bedlam " is a Swedish creator of robot menaces , along with his powerful (but clunky looking) robot guard "Atorox". "Surtur's Daughter" is a Norwegian female "Human Torch",while "The "Fenring" is a Norwegian werewolf,"The Maestro" is a Finnish musical villain with mind control, sonic and other powers linked to his music, "Maelstrom" is an aquatic villain with water control powers who is a menace throughout the Baltic,"Doomsayer" is a Finnish gadgeteer, while "The Brigand" is a Danish woman in a battlesuit,"THe Vortha" (or Wraith) is a Swedish man with desolid, flight and drain powers while "Alfring" is a Norwegian criminal who has an old Viking "arm ring" that gives him force powers. "The Storm Wizard" is a Swedish magician specialising in weather control and cold spells, while "The Locksmith" from Finland is a specialist with traps and can get through any lock."Awesome" is a 10foot tall Danish powerhouse with an even bigger ego while "Huldra" (or "Wood Nymph") is a beautiful Norwegian woman with plant control powers. "Nisse" (or "Pixie") is an illusionist from Denmark and a prankster who is arch rival of "The Rose Elf","Whirlwind" is a swedish female super speedster , "The Masked Hippie" is a Finnish communist superman type while "Captain Old Fogey" is an older Norwegian man who creates weird clunky looking gadgets. "Avrian, The True Troll" is a real troll with great strength and shapeshifting powers and lastly I have "Alberich" a Danish dwarf gadgeteer. Twenty four or so super villains to keep my six Scandanavian heros busy ! Thank you all again for the help. I may need to ask again as this project continues.

Wasn't he hung after the war ?I can't imagine that even a dyed in the wool super villain would name himself "Quisling". It is just too embarassing. (However I can imagine my eight foot tall were polar bear "Snowbear" wanting to give him a great big hug !:eg: )

Hey, you asked for Scandinavian villains!

:snicker:

Re: Need some Scandinavian Villains !

The "All The World's Heros" project is continuing and I have reached Africa (after FINALLY finishing the British Isles, where I took the easy way out and used a lot of the characters from "Kingdom of Champions"). So far I am proceeding across North Africa with a group of five heros in Egypt, two in Lybia and two in Tunisia ("The Corsair" a swashbuckling martial artiist with "fencing", "dirty infighting" a sword with armour piercing and missile/energy reflection capability and a stun pistol, and :"The Dissident"a female "flying energy projector" type who is a bit of a feminist.)
