Metaphysician
Re: The Future of Small Arms Better still, how about Paint-ball rounds filled with a deadly nerve toxin that requires only the slightest touch to kill an opponent, or render them paralyzed. Or perhaps the "paint" is actually a colony of Nanites designed to slip between the molecuse of body armor, then re-group within the opponents body, then detonate with the explosive force of 1lb of TNT! If you have that good of nanotech, your almost certainly better off with limited lifespan or smart disassemblers.
Sundog
Re: The Future of Small Arms And if they're smart, you don't use a gun delivery system. You just keep packets about the ship, connected to the computer, and release clouds of them when you get boarded. Saturate the atmosphere with disassemblers programmed to ignore crewmembers - everybody else goes Grey Goo. The nerve toxin idea has merit, though. Especially paralysis toxins - unless the target is wearing a space suit. In that case, you're going to need something with penetrating power. Metaphysician
Re: The Future of Small Arms If your talking anti-boarding, it'd be useless. Anybody who'd do a hostile boarding up without space suits is an idiot who won't survive to that point anyway. As security measures against internal hijacking, though, might work. ajackson
Re: The Future of Small Arms Because it takes at least 20 Body damage to kill the average person in one shot. Thus' date=' your looking at a 6d6 RKA, bare minimum. Given I'm pretty sure even people like Worf or Data are supposed to die in one hit on disintegrate, it probably would look more like 40 Body and 12d6 RKA.[/quote'] No. Only redshirts are supposed to die in one hit on disintegrate. Named characters are generally resistant to stuff like that. The solution is to make mooks die on Body in one hit, or even Body/2 in one hit. Dale A. Ward
Re: The Future of Small Arms Physical lim:Red Shirt' date=' X2 Body from all attacks 30 pts?[/quote'] Only applies to TOS campaigns. TNG "red shirts" were command level.
